Customer service was horrible, been here several times, but after how my order was taken today and how the cashier acted definitely not coming back. Also as she was taking orders she was cutting jicama without wearing gloves and prepping other orders. Super unsanitary. I typically don't do reviews, but today really has me boil. Ive been a regular customer for the past two years. Today just made me decide not to come back. My partner ordered a smoothie, he came to get me out the car to come sit inside while we waited for the smoothie. It was kinda busy. And was watching everyone get their orders. My One smoothie and waited 15 minutes to finally speak up about my order and she grabbed it out the fridge that's been sitting there the whole time we were waiting. Mind you the lady on register saw us sitting down in front of her the whole time and couldn't take a second to give me the smoothie that was already watering up and tasted straight like bottom of a sugar pit. Just grrrrrrrr, just paid over $10 for a crappy "juice" that was blended, and on top of it blended with ice. Who does that!?!? My mom has bought me a "juice" before and also was upset because of the outcome and now I understand that's just the method used here. First time here! I stopped by for snack so I wouldn't grab a burger from across the street and gosh I am SUPER happy that I did!! This place is great! The have variety on the menu and it all looks good. I ordered the strawberries and cream cup with granola. I was informed that the cream is homemade and not too sweet but just the right amount to combine with strawberries. She was correct. It was perfect! The cup was really light weight so it is an awesome snack to hold you over until your next meal. The fruit helped my sweet cravings. The prices are very reasonable for fresh fruit and the restaurant is clean kept. The lady that helped me was really nice and seems to truly enjoy working there. Best Fruteria i've been to in SD cute small business with the sweetest owner Krystal , she is always super nice to everyone that comes in I love the fact that she makes it a point to remember her regular customers names. Visiting from Low Angeles I've been craving fruit...not just fruit but a specialty called Bionico and trying to find it has been a bit tough, not to mention I'm very picky. I stood reading the menu and what do I see, Bionico is on the menu!! I was shocked. I looked further and I see. Elote (in a cup) another favorite. I was already impressed and my mouth was watering. Since I had just had dinner i wasn't hungry but I wanted to peak my head in and checkout their menu. I turned to leave and Crystal called out to me, "Hi sweetheart did you have any queations" I turned and walked back and started chatting about the menu. She explainrd a few items I was unaware of and offered to let me taste the House Cream that they put on the Bionico. I've gotta say its the best I've tasted and ive had many Bionicos in my day. There are certain fruits I can't handle so she said they could mix one up to my liking. Very nice. I told her I'd definitely be back tomoorow. Crystals service was very impressive and she made me want to come back. Take it from someone in management, the service a person provides can make or break a return visit and hers was A+. So today my friend and I came in as promised. Today wr met Dylan, very outgoing and his smile was adorable. He is definitely an asset to the company, I stood and talked with him for awhile. He made my Bionico perfectly. It was sweet and lots of the House Cream. The fruit was so sweet and juicy and just the right amount. He served it with a smile. My friend ordered the Fruit Salad, it was beautiful. The presentation alone made me wanna try it. They drizzle this one with honey and topmit with cottage cheese... My friend loved it. Dylan was definitely out to impress and he did just that. He introduced himself and even shook our hands. I'm from Low Angeles and I told him we need a Fruity Loco where I'm at and him and Crystal should be the trainers they both really do take customer service to a high level. I don't know who hires the staff here but kuddos to you. The two I met have high customer service standards and will keep the customers coming back. Customer service was great! The lady at the counter who took our order was very sweet. Food was also great. We had tostilocos and agua de sandía. Everything tasted amazing. I took just one star off because of price. It's a bit pricy compared to other fruterías and for what you get. I don't think there was even a full bag of chips in my order. They give you half of a take out container. Most other fruterías fill an entire take out container not just half. Charged $2 for extra Jicama and chaca chaca. To me that's a bit much and I don't feel like I got anything extra. I also got charged an extra $1 to use my card. This also seemed like an expensive charge. I come here every once in awhile when I'm craving a torta, they have a veggie option and close to my home. Today was not a good experience, and I'm not sure if I'll even go back. I ordered a torts, just lettuce, avo, jalapeños, tomatoes, mustard, I ask for some balsamic, I always tip well because I'm in the restaurant industry. Well I'm glad I checked the bag before I got home. I paid $16 with tip, it was on thin wheat bread. I went back in and politely said there was a mistake it wasn't on the delicious total bread, the cashier said oh you said sandwich, I said no I definitely didn't but maybe because it was so loud you didn't hear me correctly, so no problem, we'll the woman making the torts, etc gave me attitude, I got back my torta on the torta roll, but didn't have mustard or balsamic like I asked. At that point I wasn't going back in , especially after being told by the older woman that a sandwich and torta are.different, said to me with an attitude, I said yes I know and I get it all the time here. She still rolled her eyes. Not cool. The right thing would of been to say no problem we will fix that up for you..well that didn't happen. Horrible customer service. The woman Krystal when she's there she's awesome, so nice upbeat and great customer service. I'm disappointed. I cannot stress how much I love this place! I am an Amazon driver and get about 30 minutes for lunch but I don't care where I am, I will make the trip to eat here. The fruit is so fresh and cut right in front of me, the beautiful staff is so kind and look so excited to see you every time you come in. They take custom orders and make your food so fast.
