The owners Samantha and Mark started this business in 2010 and have a mission of creating a healthier future. The best part is they work with local farmers to get all their produce and find multiple ways to give back to the community. They also have their Support a School program where they donate 5% back from every box sold. They have different boxes to choose from and different sizes as well. Some boxes are fruits only and others include fruits and vegetables. I went with the half size fruit and vegetable box. Before delivery, you get an email of what is going to be inside the box and the best part for me is, it includes recipes of what you can make with the items in your box. My box included an avocado, pears, apples, oranges, broccoli, cilantro, pink chard, and lettuce. One of the recipes included Baked Broccoli Parmesan Fritters which I am definitely going to try out because I always need new ideas for meals with having two small children. The delivery fee for their boxes is $6.95 or you can pick up the boxes for free at many of their local pickup locations. The service area covers the greater Los Angeles Area , San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, and Conejo Valley so definitely something for everyone!

For a place that caters to families with children, I was shocked that there was absolutely nowhere to do a diaper change. I know it's tough when the only bathrooms are port-a-potties, but there are ways to get creative. Just last weekend we attended an outdoor festival where they set up a makeshift diaper changing area in a tent with some folding tables. Just this small consideration would really improve the experience for families who are shelling out dollars for every single activity at the farm. We had to change my son in the backseat of our car. The real kicker for me was our experience at the food stand. The way the menu was written was very misleading, and my husband and I misunderstood the options for the spud nuggets, thinking there was a plain version and a fully loaded version. Turns out there was only a fully loaded version covered in cheese, which I cannot eat. When I attempted to speak to the man working there, he was very rude to me, not apologetic at all, just bluntly saying "there's one price" and when I asked if we could just get a refund for the item, he rudely said "no, we already made it." There was no offer of a different item or a modification. Also, two friends we were with both had to stop drinking the overpriced "fresh-squeezed" lemonade after feeling the beginnings of an allergic reaction, so who knows what ingredients are in there. While we were in line for the tractor ride, I also witnessed the woman selling tickets YELL at two children who were playing with the ropes cordoning off the line. Sure, their behavior was not appropriate, but she was very aggressive. If they want to charge way too much for everything, a little kindness would go far. We will find a different pumpkin patch next year.

There's plenty of shade, though the area is mostly outdoors- lots of trees and buildings with covers and awnings. There's a fancy French market in there and plenty of eating options (though open hours vary). Come by this historic stop, walk through the Grove, and enjoy the hustle and bustle!

I will say that the parking situation is shared with the grove so it could get a little hectic. And the place can get really crowded.
