FINE with me, I love that they give me the option, I'd rather pay the fee then go find cash and many merchants don't give you the option. What a feast for the eyes and stomach! Beautiful fruit and vegetables preserved in oh so many ways...every vegetable under the sun pickled, huge variety of fruit preserves and butters, apple-pecan caramel, ciders - cherry and blackberry. Beautiful and delicious, like no other dried fruit - especially pear and peach. (also frozen) They win awards at the state fair for their fruits and vegetables and do not use preservatives or toxic ingredients. The valley of Velarde has been farmed since 1598. I emailed their new director--who does not seem as on the ball as the old manager--and she promised that she would look into the situation and get back to me within a week to see if the glitch could be resolved. Two weeks later, I had to email her to remind her, at which point the entire camp was filled up, of course. It was like we'd never spoken before. Really unprofessional, and it's left me scrambling for summer camp options at the last minute. Doubt we'll return, unless they hire back the old manager, who was also great with the kids.

Chile shop carries Los Chileros and so does five and dime. Los Chileros is a very authentic New Mexican brand of chili products and seasonings, they sell to almost every major New Mexican restaurant. Five and dime uses Los Chileros chili powder for their famous frito pie. It's a very complex chili. The Chile shop's brand of chili powder is so amazing too I'm thankful I bought the 1 lb bag of spice because I made beef adovada at home with that spice and oh my gosh, it literally tastes like I'm in New Mexico and boy is it hot. Very simple store with only new Mexico's best. Kind and helpful staff, very cool store for sure. My only regret is that I didn't stock up enough. Well I guess that's incentive for me to go back to Santa Fe!!
