It's a travesty that there was only 1 review for E&J, because it's easy to look past, but if you're having a big event and you need high quality produce and fruits, he's your guy. I know he mostly serves restaurants - which makes sense - but I was pleasantly surprised at how convenient this was for my group's needs. I would use again!

I figured out later due to its imprudent store layout which had Fresh Produce section right next to exit and on the opposite side of check out, they suspect every customer of shoplifting. Imagine discomfort and anxiousness merely being there. There were a few securities there construing the above-said shenanigans. Exactly who likes to be followed or policed while shopping? No wonder my kiddo avoided this place since the fatal car accident inside the store in February. Eerie Feng Shui and ominous energy.

The real issue was not treating customers with basic respect as instead of taking responsibility, he raised his voice at me from across the store, saying things like it's against rules to give refund without a receipt and when I said it's also against rules to sell rotten food to people, he yelled that the bread was probably fine a few days ago (while it had mold when sitting on the shelf). To make matters worse, I've also noticed this same owner being rude to his own cashier staff, which only confirms that this kind of behavior is not a one-off.

I also had the chicken katsu, which came with miso soup, rice, and salad. I think the chicken katsu here had the perfect crunch and the sauce / rice that came with it was delicious. The miso soup was also quite tasty. Word of advice from the server was to purchase the combination, which allowed me to get everything I wanted for steep discount in comparison to buying everything aforementioned individually. One downside was that only street parking is available.

These bags of fruits were like my afternoon bags of crack to get me through the day! Yes, I know I'm not allowed to make a comparison to something I clearly have never done... but seriously, I can't get enough of these fruit bags! Fruits to pick from: Watermelon, pineapple, mango, orange, cantaloupe, jicama, cucumber, coconut. Top off with chili powder, salt, and lime juice. You can actually pick and choose which fruits you want, which is awesome because you can be economically strategic and pick the most expensive fruits, and still pay the same price! Each bag is $3 to $5 depending on what size you want; I always get the $3 bag and it is always more than enough. Compare this to the $5-$10 you spend at Ralphs on a little bowl of mixed fruit! It's a steal! What I love about Cesar is that he lets me be picky! I like my mangoes green, crunchy, and as unripe as possible. He caters to my needs and searches around his stash for the greenest mango he could find. Additionally, I like my fruit heavy on chili powder... AKA I use up half his bottle of chili powder, and he doesn't mind. Even though I no longer work across the street and am unable to go every other day, I still pay Cesar a visit on Saturday afternoons after my workout, and he still remembers exactly how I like my fruit. Sometimes I tip him a dollar or two to show him how happy he makes me.

Every day, no kidding, and with it being directly outside my place of business this cart is pretty much perfect in every way. The gentleman that runs it is the nicest guy on the block. If something is a little unripe he will keep it real and let you know. Just this morning he sliced me off a piece of mango so I could judge for myself, very kind of him instead of just unloading the mango. I went pineapple instead. I talk to him in broken Spanish, he talks to me in broken English, and somehow it all works out. Bonus points for not filling the fruit in plastic bags either, he uses plastic to-go containers which are much easier to eat from, and no worries on it tipping over if you're driving. He has small $3 boxes up to a $5 size, and if you're a fan of fresh coconut water (like me) he'll crack one open and fill you a cup for $1. Everything that comes out of this stand screams 'refreshing', I love it. I know he works about 9:30A - 4:00P on weekdays simply because he's in the prefect place with a ton of office traffic, don't know if he works weekends.
