When I was at Screenwise I'd walk through Railway Square every Wednesday morning on my way to class. I got off the bus on George Street and would have to make my way through the tunnel and down Elizabeth Street to just off Foveaux.
Sometimes on this long journey, which I would make on foot, I would get the hankering for some fruit; a nice delicious banana for potassium to stop the muscles cramping on my journey or an apple that I could eat for the energy that I needed to arrive alive.
I would have to take my needs to the only man who knew how to quell them. I would need to, under cover of Railway Square, go and meet with the ever mysterious Fruit Baron.
That wild tycoon of the tomato, the masterful mango mogul, the consequential captain of the champagne melon.
Located underneath Railway Square and operating as a sandwich shop and fruit seller, the Fruit Baron is a great way to get fruit in the middle of the city, (more expensive than a supermarket, but much quicker to get through and closer by as well.)
If you're passing through the station and you're in desperate need of a banana, I suggest you make contact with the Baron. read more
