I found this place when searching for gelato, but was happily surprised that they offer Turkish coffee as well. The location: This place is in a strip mall near the chicago reptile, fish, and bird store. It's like a secret gem you might not find if you weren't searching google for it or in the area. My boyfriend commented that if this were in Tinley Park, it would probably be packed with people, but when we entered, we were the only customers. It's super cute inside! They have several tables, a game area with connect 4, a swing with a green backdrop, and then the ice cream and cafe ordering area. The food: I ordered a scoop of cheesecake gelato with brown butter caramel topping. ($4.49) He ordered a brownie with cookie dough gelato and Ferrero Rocher topping. ($6.99) We both ordered a Turkish coffee but we're recommended to try it with a scoop of vanilla gelato- similar to an affogato but served like an ice cream float. ($6.99) The gelato, brownie, and Turkish coffee were excellent. We will definitely be back. The only two downsides may be the cost ($4.49 for a scoop seems a little high) and that they may make this from a powdered ice cream mix (while we were there they rolled a cart out to a car with a box on it labeled ice cream mix). Even if this is made from a mix, it's still delicious. Oh! And you can try flavors of gelato before making your selection. They also gave us tastes of the pistachio sauce and Ferrero Rocher sauce topping. Of note: They have lotus flavor gelato. The pistachio sauce is delicious. The cookie dough, is not traditional. It almost tastes like TJ cookie butter. The brown butter caramel is not normal caramel. It's tangy.

I ended up picking the lemon flavor but wrote in the message box that if they had the 80% strawberries sorbet then that's my first choice (it wasn't showing up as a flavor option but i've always wanted to try it ) and if not then the lemon is fine. i submitted it and looked and it said i was only charged for my ricotta and thyme so i assumed they were out of both my of options. but it showed up and to my surprise they snuck in the 80% strawberry sorbet and only charged me for the ricotta and thyme and put a little smiley face on top lol it's the little things!! thanks for making an ice cream girls day

And the price is high, I think the portion size is good since it is denser but I picked the 4 oz cup expecting a $6-7 charge and didn't realize I had picked a specality flavor so it was actually $8-9 which is just crazy. They need to at least organize the layout so that it's clearer which flavors are priced higher than others. I appreciate good gelato and I don't mind paying the price but this just didn't make sense to me (even comparing to NYC prices and quality). I think you only get to pick one flavor too? Just not worth it at the end of the day to me.
