I found all staff to be very helpful and knowledgble and found that the use of disposable towels to be hygienic. Stylist was chatty but professional and he seemed to have sound knowledge of cutting and colouring. Will definately be recomending to a friend. I found the price to be mid range - which I thought was pretty good for an Aveda salon as you do pay for what you get! Will definately be rebooking with James.

I am not easily pleased, but Nathan, Zoe and their talented team of stylists never fail to deliver the very best standards in hairdressing and customer service. All are very kind and polite and cut hair lovely! The longest ive had to wait for a haircut here is 30 mins, there isnt much of a seating area just a few wooden chairs that do get a littel uncomortable to sit in after a while. But prices and cuts are fab!

After having to repeat myself several times she then asked me, are they for you and I said no. Then she very insultingly said to me to go away and ask the person who they were for if they were what she wanted.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I am 63 years old I did not appreciate being talked to like a 16 year old {who by the way should also be treated with respect} I know what I wanted to buy and if it hadn't been for the fact I didn't want to go to Bluewater to buy them I would have told her what to do with them.. Your receptionist needs a course in customer service...... very condescending.

It is inconvenient and seems a complete waste of money. I have had exactly the same thing done at different salons and the colour has lasted perfectly. Therefore there must be a problem specific to Mack. For this reason I would recommend getting your highlights done elsewhere.

There is no road side parking that I'm aware of. I would describe the Empire Salon as more of a Barbers than a hairdressers. It attracts a predominately male clientele. At busiest 4 chairs are avaliable, although during quieter time just 2 members of staff have been seen. The staff provide a good standard of haircut and are friendly but don't force you into a conversation. There is a comfortable seating area, with plenty of magazines to browse at, a small flat screen television and cool water available. A basic male haircut costs about £13 which is good value for this busy area of Chelmsford. A range of other services are also avaliable.
