I have ordered from Frootbat 4 times. My first three orders went ok but the orders were slow to ship and arrive. You have to watch their pricing because it can change before you check out. My last order for a case of Austin Hope was a disaster. I spent hours calling and emailing their weak customer service team and checking in with FedEx. I am not sure which company is worse -- Frootbat or FedEx! After waiting 3 weeks for the wine to arrive, I gave up and filed a dispute with AMEX. Frootbat is a high-priced broker of spirits with no integrity. Ordered an expensive bottle of single malt scotch and because of the good price decided to order three additional bottles which I could have purchased elsewhere for much less. Notified by Frootbat that the expensive bottle was not available because they could not buy it for less than what was posted on their website. They had no interest in honoring their pricing and cancelled the order for the expensive bottle and left me with three over-priced bottles. For the inconvenience, they offered a discount against my next purchase but with a $22 delivery fee per bottle, there was no way I wanted to buy anything. After checking, Frootbat considers a discount the same as a coupon and they would not allow applying a discount with a coupon. My advice is stay away from Frootbat. read more

The amount of stress and correspondence that went along with trying to locate my order will never be forgotten. I'm so stressed out that I don't even want any alcohol for a while. So maybe dealing with them is a form of rehab. I was told forty different stories from forty different reps. Opened a claim with Fedex who claimed they delivered the bottle and had some bogus signature. I had it delivered to my mailbox service where a very capable crew signs for it...nobody by the bogus name works there. I tried to get the original shippers info from Footbat but they would not give it to me. They claimed they couldn't cover the loss because I had it shipped to a maiilbox. They claimed it was being shipped from out of the country but it was shipped from somewhere in New York. It was a super expensive bottle and it was never delivered. I contacted my bank for fraud. Worst online ordering experience of my life. I'll be scarred for life. I wish I had gone with my gut instinct. I believe nothing was ever shipped. read more

Had a very bad experience with Frootbat this week. 'Purchased' 2 bottles of bourbon. Prior to shipment, I was told the bottle of Dark Arts 6.5 YO I bought was actually Dark Arts 7 YO Rye, and I was asked if I still wanted it? No. They offered me a 10% off coupon for their error. The other bottle I thought I had purchased was a Bib & Tucker 10 YO Cask Strength limited edition. The bottle I received was the regular B&T 10 YO. After two emails and 6 attached images, they offered to sell me the bottle I received at a price higher then I can buy it for locally and half off shipping. They too are an online reseller that uses liquor stores across the USA to source and ship bottles for them. They blamed their supply merchant for the error. Funny how circled notes on the invoice noted they knew they were shipping the wrong bottle. Lastly, they sent me a UPS return ship label to ship the bottle back to them. I believe it is against the law for private citizens to ship alcohol via UPS? When I told them I would not ship via USPS, UPS or FedEx with my name as the shipper, they quickly set up a pick up from a shipper that is licensed to ship liquor. They also took responsibility as the shipper. They know the laws; they were lazy and tried to save a couple of on the return costs, or maybe they thought I didn't know the law or would look at who they named as shipper? Promised that they had the rare bottles of whiskey I paid for them upfront adn then ALL 4 times sent the wrong bottle. Absolutely terrible customer service. I ordered a bottle of Weller and received a bottle of Penelope Light American Whiskey. After days of back and forth they admitted that "that our partner merchant has informed us that your order was possibly mixed up with a different customer and we are currently in contact with another customer who possibly received your order." (exact quote from them). They then said they were not able to speak with the other customer. I then said I didn't care if they hadn't spoken to the other customer, I still didn't have the bottle I had ordered 2 weeks prior. I still don't have the correct bottle, even after sending the wrong bottle back to them. No offer for future discounts or even comping the bottle; just hollow apologies. SAM SCAM SCAM! I ordered a bottle of Blanton's for a ridiculous price. I didn't care because it's hard to find. They shipped a counterfeit bottle from China that wasn't factory sealed. No option to cancel the order. Reasoning given: 'our website uses an algorithm for price, it screwed up, we can't sell that to you at that price.' (It was a fair price BYW) That's it. Since when can a retailer get away with this? Amazon/Kohl's?...they don't list items in their website at the wrong price! Those two cancelled bottles were the reason for the order!! I tried to order something for an Xmas gift and it kept spinning at checkout. I contacted them and, man, initially they were on fire. They sent me a manual purchase link, (I asked a couple of questions and they respond within hours) and were great with the comms UNTIL after the purchase. Then I never heard back, contacted twice on email, and then finally called to see what happened. After calling they got on it but It took 2 weeks for them to process the order, and when they finally started processing it, it took several day for them to actually do it. Than longer to ship. When I asked if they were rushing shipping so I could have it by Xmas, they would not address the issue and simply said "Sorry". (they did the same when I asked when I asked why it took several days to process it). When I pointed out it was a yes or no question and it did not answer my question they again related "Sorry". Now I missed this as a Christmas gift and am stuck with it. read more
