This place is quite a vibe. Love for the fact that they're open late and most of the time they take walk-ins. I love how they support our troops and love the USMC patches up their walls. I got assigned to Dalton. Dalton made this painful session a breeze (it was a foot and ankle piece lol) and put his little twist into the design I gave him which I'm glad I went with because I ended up loving it A WHOLE LOT MORE He used a coil machine but somehow made this painful session a breeze and worked pretty fast and my foot and ankle piece a beautiful one. Man I'm so glad I called in and the sweet little lady at the front desk dealt with my insanity. I was able to come in and see the artist who did my first tattoo. I have seen several artist from Sherman Oaks down to SD. I've gotten some good work and I have some appertiancr tattoos I will get reworked or covered up. I have got to say the atmosphere is top tier aiiiint no roaches and not a single unpleasant person in the entire place. Years ago I had an artist almost put my foot in his mouth locally because he was a depraved freak and you know what I can say with certainty not one of these guys would be caught dead doing some predatory shit while getting tattooed. Allllso Anton isn't the most heavy handed so while tattoos hurt you aren't fighting for your life the entire time. read more

I wanted to be a little spontaneous and get a "spur of the moment" tattoo while visiting friends in Oceanside, CA over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Being pressed for time, I wanted to make sure I found the best tattoo shop I could find on short notice, and one that had good reviews. I found Frontline Tattoo and felt comfortable. I walked in, told them I wanted a tattoo that day, something simple but also cute that could be done quickly. They accommodated me and squeezed me in with an artist a few hours later. This was the quickest tattoo ever, which took less than 5 minutes to get. The preparation time took longer than the actual tattoo. This shop was great, welcoming, and nice. The artists are social, kind, respectful, and helpful. The ambiance was nice too. I would go back for another tattoo again, and I just might in the future being that I have a big tattoo that I would like to get. You never know. PJ was/is the NICEST and warmest tattoo artist I've ever gotten tattooed by (and I have 7) PJ was straightforward with how he explained everything and he has such a light hand that though I got my tattoo in a sensitive spot he was constantly encouraging me to breathe an relax! Since living in Oceanside I have only ever gone to Frontline to get my tattoos! All of the artists are super cool and friendly and will work with you to bring your idea to life! Bud is the best! My fiancé and I went into the shop very spur of the moment to get tattooed as a birthday surprise. We knew what we wanted and Bud overdelivered. The tattoos were even better than we could have hoped for. He was also extremely friendly and engaging and immediately made us comfortable. Neither of us have ever felt more taken care of at a shop. Definitely the best experience I've ever had in the chair and I can't say enough good about him. Not only does he do stellar work, but he is a great dude! We will absolutely be back to see him. I did some research and I thought it about I do something about some work I had done years ago. After carefully reading reviews and scoping out parlors, I finally decided to come to Frontline Tattoo. The shop is located in oceanside and in a small shipping center near the 5. The staff here are friendly and knowledgable and my 1st consultation was a breeze. In order to get an idea of what I wanted as a design, they showed me some tattoo concepts in collection folders. Although they had many folders, this didn't really help much because I wanted something that was original and not generic. But this has always been my opinion about using this brainstorming method anyhow. I was then offered the ability to use their computer in the lounge to research some design concepts and ideas for what I wanted done. Nice! After talking to my artist, I made my appointment for that same week, came in and got it done. Yngve Opaker has some angelic hands and completed my tattoo to satisfaction, with minimal scarring. He was reasonable with his price and even shaved some off for me (to which I gave back as his tip). I'd also like to mention that this tattoo healed faster than any of my other ones. Amazing! I recommend Frontline as one of the reliable tattoo parlors in the area. I'm a happy camper :) read more

Although swamped with Marine booters trying to get motivated tattoos, is a great parlor. The service was warm and friendly, the shop immaculately clean, and the staff very knowledgeable. Yngve was very steady handed, honest about everything and priced the tattoo(s) at a more than fair rate. One of the best experiences I've had getting tattoos. I couldn't recommend him more. I've gone to multiple different tattoo shops all over California. I've met with different artist and had different experiences. It's hard to find a tattoo shop and call it your home for tattoos. However, moving down to Oceanside I found my home for tattoos. This is the best tattoo shop, everyone is super friendly and down to earth. The artist that does my tattoos is Bud, he is the most respectful, kind tattoo artist that I have ever worked with. He took a crazy idea of mine and turned it in to something beautiful. To cover up my scars. This is a very meaningful tattoo that is part of my healing process. You can only imagine how hard it was for me to pick out an artist to make this idea blossom. Since he is such an incredible artist he took this idea and made my self harm marks disappear and turn in to beautiful artwork. He is an amazing artist and takes time into adding the little details. I personally never used saniderm and he explained everything to me. Bud is such an incredible artist and person in general. I wouldn't listen to other peoples reviews about this shop or any artist on here that's negative. I guess some people weren't raised to be treated with respect. Calling someone sweetheart is a sign of respect. Taking it out of context and being disrespectful is just not cool. read more

Jerry and PJ absolutely rock! My brother and I came in last minute to get matching tattoos. We came with what we wanted and they got us in and out in less then 30 minutes. Very fair price and so friendly. Side note: I also got a small heart on my foot from them in 2019 that had healed a little lopsided from this place. I told PJ and he immediately fixed it, and assured me if I had any issues or wanted a touch up that they would always be there. Overall I highly suggest this place! read more

i had an absolutely amazing experience, called first thing in the morning to see if there was any available walk ins was able to get an appointment for later in the day ( my advice if you are looking for same day walk in is call early). The receptionist was super nice and welcoming, the place was clean and had a lot of great work displayed. . I met Anton showed him a photo of what I was looking to get, he made a few suggestions which exceeded my expectations and turned my dream into a reality. He is very professional, my tattoo came out better than I imagined it would! I would highly recommend frontline. Thank-you Anton for making my memorial tattoo experience so special. This experience left me upset and disappointed…read more I booked a tattoo appointment with Skye, paid a deposit, and asked for the design in advance because this tattoo had deep personal meaning. I never received the design. On the day of the appointment, I showed up. Skye did not. She canceled last minute and asked to reschedule. Because I am deploying soon with the military, rescheduling was not an option. I explained this calmly and requested a refund, since the artist failed to show up. Skye initially said she would send it, then completely stopped responding. What frustrates me most is the lack of accountability. A deposit should not be kept when no service is provided and the artist is the one who cancels. Being ignored afterward made the situation even worse. This was handled very poorly, and I can't recommend booking with Skye based on my experience.

Another thing this was my first tattoo and I was so excited to get it , he didn't discuss any after care or to not go into the sun/water. I got home and it looked very infected , bloody and very swollen. I'm not sure if he wasn't very sterile with his tattoo gun or what. Had to go to the ER and am now on antibiotics. Not a very good experience for my first tattoo.

My piercer was named Lily and she was very kind. She could tell again that I was unsure of which size I wanted and put each size up to my nose and was very patient in letting me decide. Overall, this was definitely a really nice experience. My little sister got her earrings changed out and they were so kind. She is only nine years old. We were a walk in so that experience was a little overwhelming at first; having 2-3 people greet us, sign waivers and verbally explain the pricing to us. There was one main person that was just running through everything so quickly that I just couldn't register everything they were saying. I think it would be nice to have a visual price list to look at for our own pace while we make a decision. It felt pressured and rushed. But once we were actually taken care of by Lily and one other person, it didn't feel as overwhelming. Overall aside from the first part of the experience, it was fantastic. Our teen felt comfortable with Lily and it went so smoothly!
