This place is quite a vibe. Love for the fact that they're open late and most of the time they take walk-ins. I love how they support our troops and love the USMC patches up their walls. I got assigned to Dalton. Dalton made this painful session a breeze (it was a foot and ankle piece lol) and put his little twist into the design I gave him which I'm glad I went with because I ended up loving it A WHOLE LOT MORE He used a coil machine but somehow made this painful session a breeze and worked pretty fast and my foot and ankle piece a beautiful one. Man I'm so glad I called in and the sweet little lady at the front desk dealt with my insanity. I was able to come in and see the artist who did my first tattoo. I have seen several artist from Sherman Oaks down to SD. I've gotten some good work and I have some appertiancr tattoos I will get reworked or covered up. I have got to say the atmosphere is top tier aiiiint no roaches and not a single unpleasant person in the entire place. Years ago I had an artist almost put my foot in his mouth locally because he was a depraved freak and you know what I can say with certainty not one of these guys would be caught dead doing some predatory shit while getting tattooed. Allllso Anton isn't the most heavy handed so while tattoos hurt you aren't fighting for your life the entire time. read more

I wanted to be a little spontaneous and get a "spur of the moment" tattoo while visiting friends in Oceanside, CA over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Being pressed for time, I wanted to make sure I found the best tattoo shop I could find on short notice, and one that had good reviews. I found Frontline Tattoo and felt comfortable. I walked in, told them I wanted a tattoo that day, something simple but also cute that could be done quickly. They accommodated me and squeezed me in with an artist a few hours later. This was the quickest tattoo ever, which took less than 5 minutes to get. The preparation time took longer than the actual tattoo. This shop was great, welcoming, and nice. The artists are social, kind, respectful, and helpful. The ambiance was nice too. I would go back for another tattoo again, and I just might in the future being that I have a big tattoo that I would like to get. You never know. PJ was/is the NICEST and warmest tattoo artist I've ever gotten tattooed by (and I have 7) PJ was straightforward with how he explained everything and he has such a light hand that though I got my tattoo in a sensitive spot he was constantly encouraging me to breathe an relax! About last night...Mady and went together to get tattooed! Thank you Carlos Murillo at Frontline Tattoo for your creativity, talent, and an authentic personality. Look how beautiful! I chose a Lotus flower for "beauty that holds itself above the mud". And a poppy which represents peace for my Daddy. Mady also got 2 new tattoos from Carlos! Since living in Oceanside I have only ever gone to Frontline to get my tattoos! All of the artists are super cool and friendly and will work with you to bring your idea to life! Bud is the best! My fiancé and I went into the shop very spur of the moment to get tattooed as a birthday surprise. We knew what we wanted and Bud overdelivered. The tattoos were even better than we could have hoped for. He was also extremely friendly and engaging and immediately made us comfortable. Neither of us have ever felt more taken care of at a shop. I did some research and I thought it about I do something about some work I had done years ago. After carefully reading reviews and scoping out parlors, I finally decided to come to Frontline Tattoo. The shop is located in oceanside and in a small shipping center near the 5. The staff here are friendly and knowledgable and my 1st consultation was a breeze. In order to get an idea of what I wanted as a design, they showed me some tattoo concepts in collection folders. Although they had many folders, this didn't really help much because I wanted something that was original and not generic. But this has always been my opinion about using this brainstorming method anyhow. I was then offered the ability to use their computer in the lounge to research some design concepts and ideas for what I wanted done. Nice! After talking to my artist, I made my appointment for that same week, came in and got it done. Yngve Opaker has some angelic hands and completed my tattoo to satisfaction, with minimal scarring. He was reasonable with his price and even shaved some off for me (to which I gave back as his tip). I'd also like to mention that this tattoo healed faster than any of my other ones. Amazing! I recommend Frontline as one of the reliable tattoo parlors in the area. I'm a happy camper :) read more

I have been in a few Tattoo shops in Oceanside and had had good service and good quality body art done. That said, Frontline Tattoo blows the others away. Rob Guzman was fantastic from the start. I showed him what I wanted and he dispensed great advice and produced a great design that I am very happy with. I highly recommend him as your artist. The shop is clean and inviting. Although swamped with Marine booters trying to get motivated tattoos, is a great parlor. The service was warm and friendly, the shop immaculately clean, and the staff very knowledgeable. Yngve was very steady handed, honest about everything and priced the tattoo(s) at a more than fair rate. One of the best experiences I've had getting tattoos. I couldn't recommend him more. I've gone to multiple different tattoo shops all over California. I've met with different artist and had different experiences. It's hard to find a tattoo shop and call it your home for tattoos. However, moving down to Oceanside I found my home for tattoos. This is the best tattoo shop, everyone is super friendly and down to earth. The artist that does my tattoos is Bud, he is the most respectful, kind tattoo artist that I have ever worked with. He took a crazy idea of mine and turned it in to something beautiful. To cover up my scars. This is a very meaningful tattoo that is part of my healing process. You can only imagine how hard it was for me to pick out an artist to make this idea blossom. Since he is such an incredible artist he took this idea and made my self harm marks disappear and turn in to beautiful artwork. He is an amazing artist and takes time into adding the little details. I personally never used saniderm and he explained everything to me. Bud is such an incredible artist and person in general. I wouldn't listen to other peoples reviews about this shop or any artist on here that's negative. I guess some people weren't raised to be treated with respect. Calling someone sweetheart is a sign of respect. Taking it out of context and being disrespectful is just not cool. read more

i had an absolutely amazing experience, called first thing in the morning to see if there was any available walk ins was able to get an appointment for later in the day ( my advice if you are looking for same day walk in is call early). The receptionist was super nice and welcoming, the place was clean and had a lot of great work displayed. . I met Anton showed him a photo of what I was looking to get, he made a few suggestions which exceeded my expectations and turned my dream into a reality. He is very professional, my tattoo came out better than I imagined it would! I would highly recommend frontline. Thank-you Anton for making my memorial tattoo experience so special. I debated for quite a while whether to write this review, but after seeing someone ask for piercing…read morerecommendations in a military community group, I felt it was important to share my experience accurately. I was originally pierced at this shop two weeks before my follow-up visit. My initial appointment was wonderful, the piercer was kind, informative, and patient, and she gave me time to mentally regroup between piercings rather than rushing me. Unfortunately, the jewelry was embedding into my skin. I had already tried replacing it with jewelry purchased from another piercing shop because I believed that barbell would be longer, but it was not, and the problem continued. When I returned, Arianna asked several questions about when and where I had been pierced, what jewelry I was wearing, whether it came from their shop, and whether I had brought replacement jewelry. I explained everything and told her I planned to purchase a longer barbell for the left side. I was quoted $16. Sandy then took me to the back, asked about my allergies, and examined the piercing. After I repeated the same information, she removed the existing barbell and temporarily placed a slightly bent metal guide into the piercing while she retrieved replacement jewelry. She brought back two options, one appeared to be the same length as what I already had, while the other was slightly longer. I told her I was willing to purchase an even longer option if necessary, but she said nothing longer was available and believed the second option would work. Thankfully, it did. What concerned me was the way the jewelry was installed. While attaching the ball on the outside, Sandy rotated the barbell from inside the already inflamed piercing. It was extremely uncomfortable, and I verbally expressed that it hurt. She adjusted her technique afterward, but I was upset that an irritated piercing was handled that way in the first place. After thanking her, I returned to the counter and was told my total was $37 and change, not the $16 I had been quoted. When I questioned the difference, Arianna checked with Sandy and then explained that the balls on the ends were being charged separately. I had not been told beforehand that the barbell and its ends would be priced as separate components. In my previous experiences, including a $21 purchase from another shop that same weekend, the price included the complete piece of jewelry. When I pointed out that the full cost had not been disclosed, the response felt dismissive rather than understanding. I was essentially told that was simply how the pricing worked and asked whether I wanted the jewelry removed. When I also mentioned that the installation had felt rough, Sandy smiled and said, "Sorry," but the interaction did not feel sincere or reassuring. I understand that body jewelry can be priced by individual components. My concern is that I specifically asked what I would be paying, was quoted $16, and was not told until afterward that the actual total would be more than twice that amount. Between the unexpected charge, the physically uncomfortable jewelry change, and the dismissive response when I raised my concerns, I left feeling misled and deeply uncomfortable. Although my initial piercer was wonderful, I would not recommend Sandy based on my follow-up experience.

But as far as service goes, it was severely lacking - they weren't very friendly and the fact that the phone seems to not be a "working" number was a bummer.

Better ink joint my behind, I had a bit of an opposite experience with that shop as well did many of my friends...... The owner known as Jay was told to be the best from some of the marines I know, but after going there and looking through the portfolio's I had a different opinion... I wanted to book my appt. with a different artist but found it very difficult as Jay seemed to get very upset.... They convinced me to set the appt. with Jay... After waiting several weeks for my appt. I went in and was shown what looked like a cheesy mickey mouse drawing! I wasn't very impressed but just like a used car salesman he told me what ever he had to make the sale? Once I agreed he then pawned me off to a different artist in the shop so he could tattoo his friend instead! The new artist named Johnny seemed to be very irritated to have to do Jay's stuff... It was a horrible experience to say the least... After 30min Johnny told me he would have to finish the rest later because as he claimed my skin was to hard to tattoo? The worst part was the price, Johnny said to pay for the entire tattoo on the first sitting, saying it would speed up the process... The tattoo scarred up very badly and looked terrible! I went to many shops after asking there opinion on the work I received and they all said that the work was terrible and that the price was outrageous! K, so i feel like getting ink today . Call Frontline to see if they have any time today, the guy on the phone said come on in we'll fit u in, I go to shop, the guy at the front desk said to fill out paperwork so i can get in next when the artist comes in, he had a 2pm and he (the jerk at the front desk) will call me at 2:15 cause he would have a better time line after he talks to the artist. so i go home. at 3:45pm i call shop and tell the guy someone was going to call me and let me know what time i should come in, the JERK gets shitty with me on the phone and tells me that he told me he would call 15min. before the artist is ready for me ( THAT IS NOT WHAT HE TOLD ME!!) and u can't rush art!! I'll call u when he's ready . I say Ooooo k . and hang up. Well the jerk never called!! So i went to Body temple tattoo ,They were more than happy to take my money and did a FANTASTIC job!!! Great tattoos that last! I had Yngve tattoo a sparrow on my shoulder 3 years ago and although he didn't have American Traditional on his profile he had amazing drawings. Long story short I came back 3 years later to get the other sparrow on the opposite shoulder. It couldn't have been any more perfect, it's basically a replica of the one tattoo on the other side, which is an incredible example of precision and skill. Like I said, not a lot of American Traditional on his online portfolio but definitely hits the standard, solid lines, bold colors amazing contrast. He incorporates those "traditional" concepts into his everyday tattoos to make lasting pieces of art. The 3 year old tattoo is just as bold and vibrant as the new one. I heard about this place from my moms friend and they all said they have had great experiences with them. The service was good, Mark the tattoo artist was good although he kept sneezing around me while in the process of doing my tattoo. The tattoo looked great until 3 days later when I started the see red bumps all around my tattoo. I go to the doctor and they say i have a staph infection from either germs around me while doing the tattooing or the place not being sterile. I went into to Frontline and talked to the owner, Jason he said it could be a razor burn. I clearly told him what the doctor had said and he basically denied it. I'm from Arizona. I was basically going in blind on this Tattoo shop in Vista/Oceanside. I trusted other reviews from users on various sites for FrontLine Tattoo/Body Temple Tattoo. Carlos Murillo was assigned to me and my wife to do our tattoos. I cannot say enough good things about Carlos. Dude is flat-out a wizard with the needle. Granted our tattoos were not overly complex, but he did fantastic work on both of ours. He took the time to draw up everything we wanted (Color, Shape, etc) and the price was reasonable as well. If I need to do a portrait in the future (what he's known for), I will make the trip again to Cali to see Carlos. Thanks again Carlos. read more

I was in the mood to get a new tattoo, so when I came across a picture of cute Hello Kitty dressed as a ladybug I knew I found it. That day I decided to make a visit to the shop to inquirer about an artist, price, etc. Fellow artists' suggested Dave, a new artist to the shop, to create it. The girl at the front desk was not very inviting and seemed like she didn't really know what was going on. I was disgusted with cigarette smoke overwhelming the shop and the fly's flying around the place. I immediately knew I would not allow these people to do my work. Had an awesome experience today at Frontline Tattooing in Oceanside. Apparently they only take walk ins on Saturday, but it worked out really well. Mark Stopke was my artist, and he did a fantastic job! He took his time, worked with me on the placement and made sure I was happy and comfortable before we got started. I went here on January 3rd 2016 to get a tattoo by Kelly Donovan. He did an amazing piece of work...i gave him a base idea of a skull sleeve on my upper right arm and let him design the rest...ending up leaving with a skull with angel wings, flames, and sword stabbing through the top.
