Then, when I started asking questions, the guy was horrible to me. Some quotes: "Well, do you want my help or not?" "Do you want me to sugarcoat this for you?" He was condescending and had no interest in helping anyone. Might want to look at hiring some decent admin staff. Good job on the intake, Boca. Top notch!

I stopped taking his calls because he was like a creepy used car salesman. So then he went into my file and found my brothers name because he was listed as my emergency contact. There was ABSOLUTELY NO EMERGENCY AT All!!! But he started telling my brother that he was worried about me in a lowlife attempt to get my brother on his side and talk me into going to Boca. My brother saw right through his lamé salesman B.S. and told him not to call him again as I'm an adult and would be making my own decisions. Then when I called Boca to complain and ask that this "stalker" be fired, the blocked my number. Haha how ironic, they didn't like me calling them a few times and blocked me. I was looking at a few rehabs in the area and based on how thirsty for business they were I wouldn't go there if they paid me.

Patient care is rude , disrespect and down rights cruet.personal privacy doesn't exist.' It's the coldest anywhere, not only temperature but in kindness, gentle handling patients are screamed at talk to they don't have a brain may have dementia but they do not deserve to be screamed like that or treated the way they are. I didn't happen to have either one. I just happen to have a UTI. I thought I would be there for three days, a week later I'm still here. I did complain on yelp how many changes were made at least on the first floor I have no idea whether the second floor made any changes but those nurses need to find another profession. They may have a tough job, but remember, they are the ones that chose it. they figured it would be an easy job and it isn't privacy is no question I go to the bathroom and the door are left open. Also, one of the physical therapist is very good. Her name is Larissa the rest of them questionable they do as little as they possibly can get away with it. They go through my things at night when I'm sleeping and remove my own private belongings then they tell me that that they can't give them back to me unless they list every thing that I have brought from home even though majority of everything I brought from home is an over-the-counter cream bomb devils claw for pain, stool softener, little things that I would be needing to take care of myself at home. The TV is so low that you can't understand what they're saying tiny close caption is so tiny. You can't read it so that's a waste of time altogether. This is against the law that they go through my private things. This is an invasion of privacy and I intend to do whatever I can about it because this is the wrong way to treat anybody no matter who they are no matter what their mental condition or the physical condition they do not have the right to be disrespected and be treated like that. they didn't mean anything unless they made a noise. I happen to be one that's able to make a noise and I got some attention. They will be happy to see me leave. I'm sure but I'm not finished because invasion of my privacy and taking my medication and my things that belong to me and we're harming nobody, I wasn't taking them, I only carry them all the time with me because I never know when I'm going to need them in public. I checked the law and it is against the law so I fully intend to do what I can about it. I had a meeting today with the board apparently that would decide whether I wenthome and they decided that I'm not going home because of the medication things that they found in my pocketbook. Well, we're gonna find one way to get out of here and they will pay for it and it might cost them a lot of money in fines, which is exactly what they deserve. Some of the employees are really wonderful. I can say that Neville, who the pharmacist at night is really a gentleman and keep his word he gave me my medicine on time. Most of them come in, They tell me they don't even know who I am where did that come from? They never heard of me. The assistant administrator apparently came by to see me after the meeting today, to really give me a chewing out about the lotions that I have to rub all my torn shoulder to relieve pain. Now she wants listed every single thing that I take that helps me with pain and to get through life without prescriptions that is completely unnecessary. She does not have to have that and she needs to read the privacy reports again there are no danger to anybody, including myself. This has been an experience. I wish onnobody, but the reason I may be here was because so many of these patients have absolutely no voice they do not know that they can complain to anybody where they even have a right, and if they complain, they'll just simply be labeled as demented ,what they're doing that is unfair. Do not choose a place like this with your loved one because this is one of the worst places you could be to go to die this is certainly a place that I will either die in the place or die trying to get out because it looks like I'm not going to get out anytime soon not unless I complain enough and cause enough problem and they can brace themselves because they never saw a fighter like a lion like me . the state will be in here on them with fines if they don't get their act together real fast and it might happen before I'm out of here Dietitian has worked very hard and understands my condition. He's probably one of the few very capable people a lot of smiling people all promising all kinds of wonderful thing don't believe a word of it.

I first want to say, the clinical staff at Evolutions are great, they are compassionate, empathetic…read moreand genuinely care about there clients. From the Therapists, to the Nurses and Pysch, they take a heartfelt interest in their clients wellbeing. As for the rest of the staff, there is a lot left to be desired. Aside from a few shining stars the majority of the administrative and tech staff behave as if they don't want to be there and its just a paycheck to them, to outright treating the Clients like inmates, cussing at them, threating them ("if you don't like it, pack your shit and get out") ignoring them by not following up on requests and grievances to total and utter disrespect. I've heard it said "you don't pay for this your insurance company does". I for one take great exception to that as I worked for over 45 years and paid into the system to be able to take advantage of programs I paid for (How dare they say that). Also, when asking a question I was often told "that's not my department or its above my pay grade)??? I would then asked to whom do I need to speak with to get my answer, their response was mostly "I don't know" How do you work somewhere that you don't know? The buck gets passed so much you can't recognize the bill any longer. Which brings me to ownership, The Husband and wife team of Mr. and Mrs. Gedale Fenster, a self proclaimed, "successful podcaster" and "motivational speaker" expounding his wisdom as if he were the next Ghandi, throwing out concepts that have been around for hundreds If not thousands of years. I for one found the man to be boastful, arrogant and disingenuous. They don't have any compassion or empathy for their clients, their entrepreneurial opportunity in this business is their primary reason for entering into this field. Complaints of living conditions go unaddressed, from inoperable washers and dryers to basic maintenance items. They hire drug addicts, exconvicts and alcoholics whom have little to no management experience, other than they were clients, in a field where that should be a priority. They allow clients to "Audition" for jobs instead of going to group to work on themselves or maybe its their way of getting cheap labor. They think by putting "Lipstick on a pig", by purchasing new furniture and putting a fresh coat of paint on it will solve a lot of the issues, think again. Just last weekend one of the units on the second floor of the IOP residence water lines broke and flooded that unit. When the client staying in that unit offered to go buy the necessary parts to fix it and have one of the clients whom are auditioning for a job, fix it the client was told no because the director of facilities said "I'm not going to allow a client to fix a repair, it will be taken care of Monday, and to have the Clients living in that unit put a bucket under it and dump the bucket when it was full, well you can imagine what happened, the downstairs unit got flooded and did a lot more damage than was necessary, if the director would have just let the Clients fix it. That's what you get when you hire incompetentence to run your facilities. Then there's the human care aspect of this, or the lack thereof. They treat clients as insurance payments. I was directly affected by this. I was told this past week that unbeknownst to me I was automatically enrolled in Medicare as I turn 65 on November 11th and Medicare trumps my current insurance "Florida Blue" and was unceremoniously discharged, with no resolution from Evolutions other than "No Dice" you have till Thursday latest Friday to pack up and get out. An unconscionable way to run a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment center. Also, when I was leaving yesterday, I had to leave my bags there for a period until I got settled into a hotel, when I retrieved my bags one of the bags was missing that had all my toiletries and medication in it, after I informed a tech he went room to room looking for it, then my bag suddenly appeared, however, when I got to my destination and opened the bag one of my medications , and some of my toiletries were missing. After calling back to the IOP residence and informing them that some of my things were missing, they did nothing about it. They market themselves as "South Florida's Premier Treatment Center", it's nowhere near that, it's a run of the mill treatment center. I would like to caution anyone, if you are contemplating Mental Health or Substance Abuse Treatment, to do your due diligence and find a more suitable Treatment Center. I would not even rate this with a star, that would be saying they have a glimmer of hope. They also have a sober living facility in Fort Lauderdale where they let former male and female clients live together in the same apartment as couples all the while discouraging coupling, and whom also happen to work for Evolutions in supposedly high ranking decision making positions. Ownership holds no one accountable. What do you expect.

The place is full of bedbugs. I spent 24 hours there and left once I woke up to being eaten alive,…read moremind you I wasn't medicated at all either and the food is below the level of jail food. These are the facts, I wouldn't send my worst enemy here.. oh and if you ask to be removed from their follow up/alimni list they'll tell you "we can't do that".. the audacity of these people it's just a people farm and all they care about is getting your insurance $$$. Lastly when I left after 24 hours they held my valuables hostage, phone, wallet, electronics etc. I had to come back a few days later to retrieve it. Mind you if I was a young girl in Miami Gardens walking around with no way to call for help what an awful situation to put someone in, and don't forget about the rash and bed bug bites all over my body. 0/5 wouldn't Recomended if it was the last rehab on earth.

Before I chose to spend my insurance money on this place, I probably read EVERY review ever written…read moreon OBR. I was under the impression from the website I was going to a "luxury-type" rehab. Even though that really didn't matter to me, I of course thought that was a plus, I also had read a lot of reviews saying the staff truly cares for it's clients and its not just about money; I bought into what I was reading and decided to go to Pompano Beach. First, I'll talk about the rooms and housing unit you stay in for 30 days. The room you see photos of on their website IS NOT what you will be in. That room is the penthouse suite, and it is where Phase Two clients stay. (Phase Two is the program you are able to go into if you get to 30 days and decide you'd like to stay long, that is, as long as your insurance will keep paying for it.) The room you stay in is basically two rooms with a connecting door-you have four room mates. One room has a television, a couch, bathroom, and balcony, the other has all of that and the kitchen which is a refrigerator, oven, stove, and microwave. The housing unit is a old motel that they turned into a housing unit for this rehab. You are NEVER allowed to be stand out on the front balcony because 'the neighbors don't like it) and have to sit on your back balcony alone whenever you want to smoke a cigarette, read, ect.The food situation is exactly as you're told on the phone, you get a $70 Publix card every Saturday. You're able to buy anything you want EXCEPT anything that says the word 'energy' on it. Obviously that means no energy drinks, but also no mio that has b12 in it. You can buy however many espresso shots, and coffee you'd like though! The only bad part about the Publix trips are there is a tech with you, you have to wait for everyone else to go down each isle with you, the tech is wearing a nametag and headset, that says Ocean Breeze staff (obvious violation of HIPAA rights) so it's very apparent to the store/customers you're in rehab. You can't wear a jacket, or bring a purse in as well. The staff:Almost all of the techs are very young recovering addicts, some have been through the ocean breeze program before, others have been to a different east coast rehab center. They are all in recovery though. You're supposed to have a year clean to work there but apparently 6 months is acceptable too. One of the techs was fired for dating a client while I was there. Some are super judgemental and play favorites (this happens A LOT). The only techs I found to be nice and helpful were Renee, Kelsey, Paris, and Josh. There is also a male tech (Mike) that is such a misogynist it is absolutely disgusting. He won't even say hi and ask how you're doing if you're a female. The therapist are all recovering addicts except for Paige. It helps to have a councillor who is in recovery as well (imo) because you can feel that they truly relate to you and aren't judging you outwardly. I was given Paige at first. I decided to try it out and see if it really mattered to me that she wasn't an addict or anything, and attended two 1o1 sessions with her. It was god awful. If OBR reads this ever, I really think they need to consider how many clients have asked to switch from Paige to a new therapist. She is an ex kindergarten teacher, and marriage counselor. Everything she says to you seems like she's reciting it from a text book, the DSM, or some worksheet she did in CAP school. I had to request a different therapist after that, and I was given Stu. Which if I was just reviewing this rehab on him alone, I'd give it five stars. (That's the main reason it has two instead of one). Stewart is AWESOME, I learned a lot from him in the short period he was my therapist, and I still use a lot of the things he told us today, months later. So, thank you to Stu for that. When I stayed a tech was fired for DATING a client. Suboxone taper is a joke, you're off everything in 4 days. This place is horrid and super judgmental and plays toward favoritism a lot. I wanted to believe the reviews that this rehab is different and they "truly" care. The director of operations Mike threatened to not return my ID, wallet, and cellphone once i decoded to leave. He said (verbatim) "If you're not going to talk to me you can come get your **** in three days." They do pretend to care, until your insurance is up then you learn real quick its like any other facility: A BUSINESS. Also you have to wait TWO weeks to use a phone even though admissions tells you 72 hours its TWO WEEKS STRAIGHT and it doesn't matter if you have a husband, kids, ect. Save yourself the failed experience! Florida has plenty of GREAT treatment options. Choose a different one.
