As soon as we walked in, I noticed how organized these folks were. Since my husband had suggested it, I already had an idea of the background I wanted with "Old West" clothes, but that was it. The staff took care of the rest on such short notice. (We walked in at almost closing time.) It helped that our 3 and 4-year-olds both love to dress up and have their pictures taken. We also brought in my husband's service dog. She did great. We love our framed photos. All of our visitors have noticed them and gotten a few good laughs out of them too. That's what we wanted! The owner and her employees are the sweetest! If you don't have a car or bikes it's a bit of a hike to office and pool but we found that refreshing! Great for dogs!! They have nice tables and fire pits too! Only cons would be our sewer hookup was on the hill so it was hard to keep tanks flowing but we got around it. Also, the office staff isn't very warm - that was our first experience with nonchalant office staff. Price wise it is on the higher end but if you want to feel like you're away from the crowds and roads it's a great option. All the other RV parks were right on the main road with lots of traffic noise. Its location is perfect for all the places in the area too!

She gave us an extremely flexible checkout time, so we were able to sleep in considerably after the crazy night we had at the reception! My partner and I both love kitsch, and he and I were not disappointed here. It was delightfully cozy and cute, and while not modern, it reminds you a little of your grandma's house. The sulfur smell of the hot springs permeates the living spaces, but that's really just the town in general. The beds were a little rough on my back, but I have arthritis issues, so this is pretty typical of hotels in general for me. Would have preferred a queen bed, but wasn't a huge deal at all. We didn't use the shower, so no information on that, but the bathroom itself was very clean like the rest of the space. Would absolutely stay here again. It was adorable and the manager was very kind and flexible.

Also, behind the cabins is easy access to the river walk, which is a great way to get downtown for lunch or dinner. Overall, great little place!

This lake has clear waters and interesting rock formations, as you will find in all of Custer State Park. You can spend a day on the water relaxing at this lake. They have kayak rentals, stand up paddle board rentals, and canoe rentals. If you would like, you can stay at the lodge there to soak in all the best things related to Legion Lake. Legion Lake has a dockside grill menu, although we didn't eat here so I can't comment on it. I love that everything here is so convenient for a relaxing time on the lake.
