Unfortunately my family and I had to use their hospice services this past month for my elderly…read morefather who was dying of heart failure and COPD. While the intake and folks we met (Diane our social worker, sharolyn our nurse and Mike the Chaplin) were nice and seemed knowledgeable, the promises of care we would receive have been bitter. I'm giving 2 stars because the folks all seemed very sweet and caring, at first.. While my father was alive (he was in hospice 1 week and passed a week ago) the nurses were great, and present whenever we needing anything. They were great at calling back and very attentive, at the time. However, my father passed 8 days ago and not one call from anyone. The social worker said that counseling would be temporarily provided, yet we have yet to receive any calls from the nurses or social worker to check on things. Not one condolence. I wasn't quiet expecting this, as they seemed to care in the beginning. We are saddened by the lack of true empathy and care they seem to have for those left behind. As they are well aware to care for a dying loved one isn't a task for the weak of heart. It would have been helpful to have someone compassionate and caring to speak with this week as we try and live on without my father. Very disappointed

The home care nurses were very nice and professional, but when Bob went from the emergency room to a Hospice room, everything changed. The doctor was cold and never introduced herself or told me what she was doing with Bob. The nurses would bring in meds and say the doctor ordered them without even asking us if they were okay. At one point, my husband said, "this is hopeless". One CNA there, Shawna, was the only one who ever asked if I was hungry or thirsty. She brought me water, coffee and food. I was in shock. The chaplain came in and insisted on reading the Bible in a loud voice even thought I said twice that our priest had just been there. No one asked me about a chaplain. When Bob dies, a voice over the microphone asked me what funeral home I wanted to use. I had no idea. Finally I called our priest and he helped me. Then, I had to walk out of the hospital alone and when I got to my car, I just collapsed. I finally called a friend to come and get me because I could not drive home. Shawna gave me a hug when I left---everyone else just watched me leave. And no one has ever called me. I laughed when i saw their brochure and saw that they "offer bereavement groups for the family." And, please, don't bother calling me know.

Aside from a professional view, I must say that the girls also go above and beyond for their Caregivers, too. They work with you if you find yourself in an employment bind, and even a personal hardship. For me personally, there was a time I hadn't any car due to an accident, and they not only provided me with temporary office work, but also took time from their work day to pick me up from home; and take me back. In the end, if you are looking for a reliable, resourceful and caring team of professional providers, you can not go wrong with Loyal Care.

I called back and I said there is a key. She said they are all aware of the key. I asked if any actual contact was made and she said she didn't ask the caregiver. She was calling to let me know that I needed to make sure he got fed and to give him his med reminder because their lady chose not use the key and to help him today. Well let's see I am gone from the house for about 11 to 12 hours, work in another town. I CAN'T make sure to feed him and give him his meds. This is why their company is hired. My grandpa is an 88 year old diabetic veteran has dementia and can't hear a bomb without a hearing aid that he doesn't wear when he doesn't have company. I called a Veteran resource line and the guy thinks that is unprofessional and unacceptable and thinks I need to file a complaint. On top of that my grandpa was upset because his lady didn't even show up today. So he was expecting her and she should have done her job.
