My God daughter's participation in the choir has allowed me to see the school from a unique perspective, and I am excited to share my thoughts. Every year I'm excited to see what themed productions they will do because they never let me down. The productions are always so well done, with great attention to detail and a clear passion for the arts. You can definitely see all the hard work that is being put into it, and it's wonderful to see the students' talents being showcased. Kudos to the choir teacher for keeping the arts alive and for providing students with opportunities to develop their skills and build their confidence.

It's disheartening and exhausting to watch students who work hard be overlooked, while others skate by simply because of who they are or who they're related to. Snobbery runs deep here -- among both students and staff. Instead of fostering humility and kindness, there's an unspoken hierarchy that rewards arrogance, status, and appearance. If you're a little different -- whether that's in how you think, what you wear, or what your background is -- you're treated like an outsider. There's little to no effort made to include or support students who don't conform. And let's be real -- for a school that prides itself on being Christian, the lack of genuine empathy and fairness is pretty shocking. You hear about grace and forgiveness in chapel, but that message often doesn't show up in how administration actually handles things. Decisions feel inconsistent, and it's hard to trust the system when you see double standards in action. And you also cannot forget the corrupt dean that works here. My daughter attended Fruitvale Jr High for 7th and 8th grade and we are overall very happy with our…read moreexperience here. The school is well maintained and clean. They recently installed new solar panels and upgraded the classrooms. The staff in the office was always helpful and cheerful when I called in with any questions or to clear absences. The school participates in many voluntary extracurricular activities and competitions like History Day and Robotics; both of these programs have a possibility of moving on to statewide or nationwide competitions! The teachers involved in the extracurriculars are very encouraging and will go above and beyond to make sure the students have the tools they need to succeed in their chosen programs. The teachers at FJH made my daughters time here enjoyable. Special recognition to Norian, Kolb, Escobar, and Chafin for being especially helpful and encouraging. I think Fruitvale is a great school and really care about the kids! (I am knocking a star because we had a lot of issues with the bus driver giving our child problems - primarily because her morning and afternoon stops were different because of my work schedule and he didn't want her getting on and off at different places)

Lol My daughter was part of Wendys program for over two years and we never once had a complain. What Makes Wendys program different is that its very small. Usually just 10-12 kids max. I loved that she plans trips for the kids (with parents help of-course), the kids have outside play on nice days and they are always learning with filled day activities. She has a weekly program that changes from week to week explaining what your child will be learning and doing each day. My favorite was seeing the photos she posts on the schools social page because I would get to see what my daughter was doing while I was at work. Even after I stopped working in Albany I would still make the drive to keep taking my daughter to Wendy,but eventually with another little one it just became hard so we had to switch to something closer to home. I wish Wendy nothing but the best in both business and personal life. She took great care and loved our daughter and that means everything as a parent. Thank you Wendy!

This school REQUIRES you to buy either the P.E clothes or a gray shirt or blue shorts for 20$. If not, your grade drops or you get detention, in my opinion, this is dumb, dressing out does not determine you participation in sports or your efforts, this should not be such a problem to the school, if it isn't harmful, why do students get detention or even after school detention. This goes on records! "Student didn't wear a grey shirt and blue shorts, so they go after school detention" make that make sense. Teachers here are either kind or rude, most do not care of your learning. They will leave you behind if you cannot grasp the subject within a week rather than ensuring all kids are able to learn. They will get angry if you ask questions as if it isn't their responsibility to answer these questions for students. While there is tutoring, it shouldn't be needed if teachers are able to teach properly, and many students do not join tutoring in fear they will be bullied for being "stupid" which the school does nothing to stop. Bullying is a huge factor to this school, I myself had been bullied for looking "different" I wore band Tees and had a side part, multiple times I've been called names in front of teachers, yet they brush it off, I have been threatened because I was answering questions in class, I've been called nerd and dork. The teachers do nothing and neither will the office. Even if they do, the worse they get is detention. I witnessed a fight before, the kid that started it got a week of In school suspension, while the other walked in the hallways in fear that the friends of the bully will harm him. And while I admire the school's ability to see the "good" in "bad" kids, they refuse to notice that even after months of being a problem, they will not suspend a kid for longer than a week or keep them in separate classes. They refuse to help the victims and only treat them on what they see and not what actually happens behind closed doors. This is why kids are in fear of their bullies. The school will do nothing if they tell. Instead the bullies will only bully more and continue, they might even turn worse for being a 'snitch'. Because the school basically allows this, these kids don't change and continue to make other kids uneasy or feel as if they cannot speak what they feel. I am a good kid, with good grades, and try hard, while there are kids that do drugs and are horrible people, but they do not care and focus more on harmless bracelets. They don't care about the children and rather dictate how kids act and look. Mr jones has made many girls uncomfortable, and I've caught him staring at the girls many times during pe. I genuinely don't know where they get there teachers from and how they get hired but they should be fired. The comfort and safety of the students is most important that anything and this isn't being treated very well. I remember there was a time where I got judged by miss postif, she pointed out my biggest insecurity and I cried in the school bathrooms messaging my mom to pick me up because I couldn't take it anymore.
