I wonder if anyone else have the same experience as we do. Our parents have Frontier as their phone and internet carrier. When they tried to upgrade their package in October, they were told by Frontier that they could get a better package with faster internet speed and unlimited long distance calls with a slight increase in the monthly fee, so they agreed to it. Well, they were billed a higher rate alright, but the internet speed remained the same, and they got a bill for $400 for long distance calls afterwards. When we called customer service to question, after many, many transfers, we were told that there was a new service that was ordered and then immediately cancelled that day. But how did we end up with the higher rate? If others have a similar experience, this is cause for a class action lawsuit. read more

I used to think FiOS was above the rest but, as of lately trying to part from has been a huge headache .... What a huge disappointment Frontier/FiOS. I cancelled my subscription in August, moved and 2monthd later I'm getting bills from them, WOW!!! I Tried calling 3 times today just to have their phone system act as incompetent as they are. Dropped my call 3 times and still was unable to talk to a human. So needless to say I am still being billed for my last address and can't get ahold of anyone at customer service to stop the billing. I just have shake my head. I tell you the truth Peeps it's cheaper and less headache to move to antenna, or stop watching TV all together as I have. Good luck with the incompetence. read more

If you value your sanity, do NOT sign up with Frontier! Their sales rep (who was lurking at the Cornelius Walmart at the time, in July 2017) flat-out LIED to me (thanks for nothing, Tristin Jennings) promising me "Free HBO, free Showtime, and free Starz" for two full years PLUS internet ... all for $70 a month! I told him I did not want phone service, but I later learned that he slipped it onto my contract anyway. To make a long story short, I got NOTHING for free ... (their half-hearted remedy was to sign me up for HBO at $16/month and subsequently give me a monthly $20 credit for ONE year - big whoop!). They screwed up my bill, and kept screwing up their half-assed correction attempts, and then they wouldn't believe me that I was only supposed to pay $70 a month (plus equipment rental, etc) even though it was plainly written on my contract! I cancelled in disgust after 16 days, and figured they would pro-rate the bill. Nope! They insisted on charging me for a whole month, because I had canceled because of THEIR dishonest "bait & switch" ... over 10 calls to various reps, I kept getting tossed around like a hot potato (billing adjustment denied - national Frontier office told me to talk to the local office because they couldn't help me - local office told me they're "retail only" so THEY couldn't help me, that I need to talk to the national office - I called collections department, they told me they couldn't help me, that I needed to talk to billing - billing then told me THEY couldn't help me, that I would have to talk to collections ... you get the picture. I got tired of being put on hold and eventually getting disconnected in between wasting my time talking to call center folks who couldn't help me anyway. I eventually ended up paying $135 for what should have been $105 (and if they'd prorated the amount for the 16 days I actually used Frontier, it would've only been about $50!) just to avoid getting sent to collections over this mess! Bottom line, if you're tempted to switch from Comcast or whatever provider, DON'T DO IT! Dealing with Frontier Communications is a TOTAL NIGHTMARE! I've waited 2 weeks to get Frontier internet and stuffs installed in my home last week, the whole last week I've tried to fix communication issues (15 times called tech support) and finally disconnected cause no good connections! Unbelievably bad customer service to the point I feel like we are being pranked or targeted! 3 no call/no shows in one week?! They were scheduled to come out last Thursday between 1-5pm to set up internet service. No call/no show, so we called them and they said they got too busy and couldn't come out until 4 days later which was the following Monday. I waited at home all day, still never showed up. I called around 4 pm and they said the tech was definitely coming to our house. He never did. We called back that night and they swore he would come this morning between 8am-noon. I had planned to take my kids to the beach today, so we canceled our trip. The tech still didn't show up this morning!!! I called again, and the person said he basically has no answer for me aside from "the tech department is lazy", and now they are saying they can't come out until August 29th. I am dumbfounded by this level of bad service. The worst part is that Comcast is absolutely horrible as well and I swore I'd never go back to them. If I could give no stars or negative I would. Internet service is terrible. They think they fix it, but it seems like Frontier doesn't know what they are doing or how to handle internet service. I've had other providers before Frontier and I've never been as disappointed in my internet connection. It is so bad that for my husband to be able to work from home he has to turn on his hot spot from his phone to be able to use the internet...this is when no one else is home and no one else is using the internet!!! Frontier is a scam artist company, top to bottom. We were told by both the initial rep who set us up, and the installer that we had no contract and we could cancel anytime. When we tried to cancel after one month the customer service rep said: PROVE IT THAT SOMEONE SAID THAT. It's bad enough to obfuscate information, but to purposely tell us wrong information more than once? Every single time we called in to get the technical issue we needed sorted out, we were bounced around. Nobody knew what the process was; it was really pathetic. Many of the other people on the phone were cordial, but the fact that they were not trained on how to actually deal with our issues was just far beyond anything we have ever seen. Worst customer service experience in a LONG time dealing with these jokers. Don't know if they're smoking rope or what, but they might as well be. Every bad review you have read is true. Theses guys are awful. I met someone at Walmart who convinced me to sign up telling me my internet would be so much faster than Xfinity. When the installer came he told me this was not the case, so it was never installed. Since then five months ago Frontier sends meal bill every month for $135. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! Frontier offers a low quality product and even lower quality service. From the start, the connection was spotty. The local office blamed the router and offered another that was literally broken. The "customer service"/sales department insisted on an upgrade. A tech made a visit and he blamed the installer for cutting the wrong wire. The billing department applied a measley $25 credit though only after insisting since the service was not working. After a month disconnected service though in the new period, so billed another month. Requested that bill be discounted since service was non-existent. Sent to collections. For scheduled service calls....nobody shows up, no phone call, appointment gets rescheduled without any notification from Frontier, yet no one shows up for the rescheduled appointment. Frontier does not deliver on what they promise so BUYER beware. I was offer 150/150 mbps (Fios) so I read all the benefits and pricing compared to my current internet provider (Comcast). I signed up. A technician came out and told me he would need to run a cable attached to exterior of my house to enable 150 mbps. This was not a valid option if you cared about how the appearance of your house looks. Plan B was for 75 mbps (dedicated cable)at a reduced price of $75 and assured that this was "plenty" for my work applications I need to run. I said okay to plan B. Well two month with Frontier and there is considerable lag with operating with work application with Fios-75 mbps. The kicker is my total bill from Frontier is $30+ more than what was promised to me. I knew there would be taxes & fees but all the hidden Frontier adds on there NOT disclosed up front. I tried to call their customer service but they insisted there was "nothing" they could do. What was promised and delivered by Frontier was totally different. I'm paying more and getting less internet mbps with Frontier. I'm terminating my Frontier services immediately. ZERO STARS...This companies customer service is filled with complete idiots. They screwed up my transfer of service by first not even showing up, then by going to the address I moved OUT of. Took them 3 weeks to make it to my place. Then on my second move , I called ahead of time hoping to avoid another fiasco and they hand me a disaster on a solid gold platter. First they said they did not know if they had service in my new area but would call back. No call back. Then they told me no service at all but I could call this number for other options. Well lo and behold there was service in the area. The day comes to turn on the service and they can't do that. BUT A SERVICE GUY CAN COME OUT IN A WEEK. Frontier Communications is the most difficult company to deal with I have ever encountered. ZERO stars for Frontier. Phone calls to change service, expand service, address billing problems, etc. are put on hold for 30 min to an hour, and maybe, maybe answered, or dropped. My wife's mother passed away recently and my wife spent a lot of time with relatives back East, dealing with related issues and plain grief. Even though we have unlimited long distance, Frontier wanted to charge us for an extra line, a business phone line. Bizarre. They argued with me for months until they agreed that we were only calling a few numbers back East, this was not a business purpose. They accused us of fraud for months and tried billing me for a second line that was not installed. I've left Frontier and even THAT was painful, I spent well over an hour with them to simply end service.Customer service with Frontier is simply miserable, the company is fraudulent. I've spent more time on the phone arguing with Frontier or on hold with Frontier than any other party. Now I'm trying to keep from being double-billed by Frontier. Horrible. I've had Frontier FIOS for 14 months now and although I would love to switch to another provider, because of where I live I'm stuck with them. Their customer service is probably the worst I've ever experienced. Today I spent over 2 1/2 hrs on the phone with one of their technicians trying to determine why I didn't have internet service - during our conversation he suggested a 'fix' which ultimately crashed my system completely and then he said there was nothing they could do now to fix it, I needed to contact someone from Netgear. I asked to speak with a supervisor & was told someone would call me back in 15-20 min. Approx 2 1/2 hrs later I finally got a call from Frontier while I was on the phone with someone trying to fix the problem, so I did not answer the call immediately; they called again a few min later while I was still on the phone & then left a message saying that since I didn't respond to their call they were closing my ticket. When I called back 15 min later, explaining the situation, I was told that since I didn't respond to the supervisor's call when it was coming in, the only recourse I had was to send in a complaint in by mail. Remember - they caused the problem! 5 hrs after the beginning of this debacle, I finally called my son across the country and in less than 5 min he figured out the problem and got me up and going again. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've called with issues and although the other calls were less frustrating, I can't say I've ever had a good customer service experience with Frontier. What good is a speedy connection if it doesn't work and no one from Frontier knows how/or is willing to help? Unless you are very, very tech savvy and can fix problems on your own, if you have any other choice I recommend trying there first! read more
