It needs a full review and overhaul. The school's director, Darla, and Chad are dismissive and defensive when students try to bring up concerns. Rather than addressing issues or showing leadership, they act like accountability is an attack. The school is terrible at communication. Class schedules change with no warning, especially for night students. No clear information is given about graduation, class standards, or even who is teaching what class. It's unprofessional and frustrating. IBMC Greeley talks a big game, but they don't deliver. I would not recommend this program to anyone looking to actually grow and succeed in the legal field.

The girl who did my highlights had no clue what she was doing. She did have a teacher there with her but she seemed to know even less. My hair is a disaster to say the least and an actual colorist is going to have to fix it. Most of the students were spending their time drawing on their mirrors and not actually doing anything hair or class related. There was even a girl wearing a vest that showed a woman sucking on Satan's finger. It was very disturbing and not appropriate for the environment. After leaving my my hair disaster, I did some research on the college and they only have a 56% graduation rate. I can't imagine why. Stay away

I learned so much about the human body, my inner self & spirituality, and honestly how to be more open & receptive to others. The mentors/teachers are AMAZING and genuinely seem to out energy into each person in the class. This school setz you up for more success than youll realize at first. You graduate w/ 250 EXTRA hours than most school which is wild to me. Now on to the clinic side of things. I recently got a gift card to massage envy, and I also had a credit for the Academy clinic. I went to Massage Emvy first. The therapist said she'd been doing it for 10 years, and I had never left a massage more disappointed and confused. 3 different techniques used for the whole session? weird. Then I went to the academy. I booked with a STUDENT massage therapist who's highest level of bodywork training was swedish. I got more relief from that massage w/ a newbie than w/ someone who's supposed to be a "seasoned veteran." It really just blew me away and reaffirmed the fact that this school and the therapist that come out of it are freaking AMAZING. Everyone is so beyond talented, and it's really due to the energy the staff and educators put towards new therapists

They don't make it easy. We check their website but it is not updated with the latest swim lesson…read moredates so we had to call. We were told that they would start registering people for the lessons on a particular date and that they will not add your name to the list for classes that are not open for registration and that you could not register or pay via phone that you had to show up in person on that date on a weekday when most people are at work if you wanted to register for the upcoming classes. So, we made sure to arrange our schedule around the reg day and go there that morning. Got there to find out that the classes were full. They offered to put us on a wait list in case more classes were added. They also suggested private lessons. We put our name on the wait list and filled out a form for private lessons. They said that they'd put hook our private lesson request to the metal door frame into their office with a magnet and eventually someone would probably call us and if no one called us within a few weeks to call back because that probably meant someone took our app home intending to call us but got distracted. Wow, someone might eventually call us - not sounding too hopeful! I guess at that point I should've taken that as a sign of how unorganized this place. Never did get a call to sched private lessons but did get a VM the other day saying they added classes and to show up Sat morning for his 1st lesson. We weren't told the class length or teacher's name but figured we'd be given details on Sat. We get there and the front door is locked w/a sign saying if you are there before 8 or after 5 to enter through another door. Well, we were not there at those times but the door was locked, so we wandered around until we found the door. We get in there and it is utter chaos with a lot of noise and people in the pool getting lessons and lots of adults standing around everywhere w/bags, towels, etc. making it very difficult to even get to the reg desk. We go to the reg desk on the other side of the room and they sign us in and we pay. They point to where we should stand on the other side of the pool and say the teacher will call us. We stand where we're told to stand and watch what we think is his teacher work w/2 kids for 30 min. A bunch of people are standing around so we figured they were waiting their child's turn. We thought because this was the 1st lesson that perhaps each child's skills were being assessed individually with each child or siblings working with the teacher individually. We wait. More than 40 min. have passed and our son has not been called. The teacher is still working with the same 2 kids. We go ask the guy who took our reg $ and he points to a different teacher working w/a group of kids and nonchalantly says oh - your class is over on the other side of the pool. Nice! So they don't even make sure they have all of the kids that have signed in for the class that day? We go over there and stand Waiting for them to call our son. Nothing. Finally I go over to the pool and ask the instructor if she is the teacher for the level we had signed up for and let her know that he is supposed to be in that class and that we've been there waiting for almost an hour. She said his class is already over and recommends we talk to the reg desk. Before I can do that, the reg desk guy comes over and asks what the issue is. I say-my son has been here for an hour waiting for his lesson and now we're told he missed his lesson. How do you miss a lesson you were there on time for? He says that we should go over to the reg desk to get a credit for the missed class and that we'll still get the # of lessons he was supposed to get. I ask if he can just get his lesson while we're there since the teacher is still working with a group at his level anyway. He says no-we missed our class. I go to the reg desk. He came over and said he'll have to talk to the manager to have a credit put on our acct and when we reg/pay for the next set of classes the credit will be applied. I said that I wasn't sure that we'd sign up for a 2nd set of classes-it would depend on how satisfied we were w/the classes we already paid for. I just wanted to be able to have the missed lesson. He argued w/me. Said they can't do that and that when I reg I was told that there are NO REFUNDS. I said that I understand no refunds if I don't show up for class but to show up and pay today for a class today and have everything be a disorganized cluster where my son doesn't get his lesson and be told that we're just out that lesson unless we want pay for another set of classes is ridiculous. We did everything we were supposed to do. I told him that so far I was not impressed with how they run things-they don't give you full info and they seem to have no oversight or anyone held accountable for doing their job. He didn't care. I asked to speak to the manager but he was not there so I got his # and had to leave a msg. To say I am not happy is an understatement!

Sometimes you get what you pay for. Sometimes you get what's available…read more Quality, however, is independent of cost and availability. So if someone tells you a school is cheap therefore bad, or expensive therefore good; or tells you you have no choice, look them right in the eye and say, "I did not have brains with that woman." Aims is a typical community college, offering vocational programs suitable for the region. Besides the usual automotive, agricultural, nursing, welding, business, etc., there are programs in oil and gas technologies, aviation (darned good if I say so myself), "fire science" (a better name might be anti-fire science, since we're not in the Fahrenheit 451 world yet), and a few others. All the staff and teachers with whom I have dealt have been genuinely friendly and helpful when help was needed, to myself as well as to others. If you are considering enrolling at Aims, and wonder about the social atmosphere, you might like to know that Aims boasts at least one racial-oriented club, one sexist club, and also at least one sex-club. From my experience, social life comes automatically in college; it's the academics you need to focus on. So if you are really obsessed with your hobby or avocation, whether that is nursing, Christianity, automobiles, or sex, then join the appropriate club promoted here at Aims. But if you want to focus on academics and avocation, you'll find that making friends and hanging out come very naturally. I was a little surprised to see no Islamic club or martial arts club, and disappointed to see no chess or hiking club listed among the offerings on the Student Clubs and Organizations. But not all groupings of people are interested in everything. Aims is growing. I believe the quality of the school, administration, and course offerings are improving. If you're graduating high school and uncertain about college, a year at Aims will help you focus your aim in life. If you've been out of school for a while and wondering about a career change, Aims is one of the greatest resources to get the training you need in at least certain career plans. Addendum: Aims gives no discounts for senior citizens. If you are a senior citizen and wish to audit a course, you are charged the full tuition. The University of Northern Colorado allows senior citizens to audit courses tuition free, although lab and other fees may have to be paid. I understand that Colorado State University (Ft. Collins) also welcomes senior citizens to audit classes tuition free.

I was finally able to enroll in Aims after years of having a registration and financial aid hold…read more After submitting my FAFSA info, I completed a meeting with an advisor, who told me I was all set to register and would be able to recieve financial aid. The same day, which was less than a week before class start date, I called the financial aid office to verify that I had no more holds, I was clear to enroll, and would receive financial aid. I was told yes, everything was clear, and I should expect my classes paid for and a refund for the extra amount within a week. Great, right?! Well... A week AFTER CLASSES BEGAN, I recieved an email regarding the due date for payment for courses. I called the financial aid office, and was told then that I had a SAP hold on my student account, and needed to appeal in order for financial aid to pay for the courses. I did so, and was approved within 2 days. The Aims financial aid and cashier's offices took their sweet time to process MY awards, that we're already approved by FAFSA. The system they have now takes the grant/aid money, and holds it until the people at the school decide to process it. My awards were broken down into 2 seperate disbursement amounts. Of course they pay the school right away, with the first bit. The remainder of that amount took 4 days to get to me. As for the remainder of the second piece of grant amounts, it is at the mercy of the Aims office. The money was showing in my student account for 5 days. The cashier's office stated they only process refunds twice per week, it then goes into another seperate system..that system then takes 2-5 additional weekdays to disburse into direct deposit. So with that being said, it is up to them to process the refund, right? Even though federal student aid paid out right away, Aims holds the payments hostage, in a sense, and literally decides when/if a student gets their funding that is needed for living expenses. It should not be up to the employees (workstudy student employees) to decide when to disbursement payments. I attended Aims years ago, and the old system of payments and refunds was much more streamlined.. even with an appeal, it never took this long to receive a refund, even with a paper check option!! As soon as the course fees were paid, the student received the refund! I have a feeling the school is now getting some kickback in the form of interest accumulation with student financial accounts.. the money must sit for a certain amount of time before it is released, so the school gets extra funds that they really arent even entitled to.

I heard trying on ballet slippers in person is best to get the right fit. Well, after two ballet classes, and educating myself online I realize my ballet shoes are too big. My experience trying on shoes there felt like the employee either didn't know much about fit and size or she just didn't want to help. I've never tried on ballet shoes. She had me try on different sizes, and I just kept going down a size to what I thought would fit best? I had no guidance from the employee on how ballet shoes are supposed to fit. I asked questions, and hardly got a response. It felt uncomfortable and odd especially because this was my first time. Also there was another employee there that maybe seemed like a manager? I was looking over at her, wondering if she would help the employee who seemed either she didn't know what she was doing or didn't care. My regular shoe size is a 7.5, I ended up going home with size 6C ballet shoes. I found out online after (my ballet classes) that leather ballet shoes can stretch 1/2 a size and that there are different widths for them also. I don't have a wide foot, so I probably should have been fitted with a 5.5B to compensate for my narrower width and room to stretch. I called the store today, told my experience to the woman on the phone who tells me she's the manager. She said unfortunately there was nothing she could do since I wore the ballet shoes to class. I kept saying to her I had no help or guidance from the employee and it was a disappointing experience, going home with the wrong size, without even knowing it's the wrong size until I did my research later! I would expect her employees would at least be knowledgeable and guide customers especially since they're dancers themselves! The manager asked "if there was anything else she could do?" I said if she won't honor an exchange for the right size, I guess not because I didn't want to spend more money on another pair there. Then I did ask if it's possible if I could talk to the owner because I was really not happy with the whole experience... Then she tells me she is the owner! I couldn't believe it. She couldn't make her customer happy by exchanging a pair of $24 ballet shoes for the correct size. Then she kept asking "if there was anything else she could do?" Really?!! Obviously there wasn't anything else she could do besides humor me. I never do reviews, but I've been in retail and customer service for years, so I had to share my bad experience with this owner. Why couldn't she take back my poor fitting shoes and make it right with ones that fit? Very disappointing poor customer service.

So she takes them. She belittles the student teacher in the room, she passes kids based on how much she likes them, cheats on tests and assignments, does the work FOR THEM so they arent learning. And is trying to force other teachers to make her students pass their class by saying "english learners shouldnt get late points, or points of a test for talking while others test" and a bunch of other things that CAN ONLY BE APPLIED through IEP. They cannot LEGALLY have those without the proper IEP stuff. My child has told me Jenna is so rude and disrespectful to other teachers that its almost impossible to learn in ANY class with her in it. My child and their friends have ALL told me on several occasions "Jenna Alexander thinks she is this super cool really good teacher who knows all but in reality all she does is treat her coworkers like shit, she is really rude and disrespectful towards a student teacher who is trying to learn to become a teacher (which if i dealt eith Jenna i would NEVER step foot into Central AGAIN) she disrupts class, flirts with students, gets jealous if they talk about girls, belittles the S.T. and she acts more like a child than a teacher" so Central DO SOMETHING ABOUT HER. At the time, Central was an "arts magnet" school. That was superb. We visited various high schools to learn about their specialties. We spoke with members of the administration and the arts staff. The principal was inspiring and encouraging. The arts instructors were informative, competent, and likewise encouraging. We decided on Central, and are completely satisfied with the results. We made the right decision. It was a pleasure to attend the stage and musical performances during our time there. Sadly, we were told that Central let its arts magnet program. If so, it wasn't for long, as the arts magnet program is today in full force. Unfortunately, the student culture was not very good. (I grade on the bell curve. Not every school deserves an A+.) I do not know the current state of affairs, but when we were customers, we found that lectures on "bullying" had little if any effect, and judging from off-campus behavior, civics lessons made little impact. It is pretty amazing to see cars stop at intersections as Central's representatives parade obliviously by, against traffic lights!, snobbishly scowling at drivers they forced to stop. Traffic flow would be smoother if Greeley Central was a closed campus. When the students are more civilized, maybe in their fifth or sixth year of high school, then it might be okay for the administration to reconsider its policy for those presumably better civilized students. But by the time you read this, perhaps those school cultural issues have all been solved.
