Front Porch Pops had a cart at the Great Park Farmer's Market this past weekend and, as it was blazin' hot, it seemed like a tasty way to cool down. They had something like 8 flavors to choose from, mostly refreshing fruit flavors like mango pineapple or watermelon but I chose Vietnamese Coffee. It had a strong flavor which would be much appreciated by any coffee lover. The heat of the day caused it to melt quickly and the cute little drip-catcher that was slid onto the bottom of the stick did little to actually catch the many drips, requiring a trip to the restroom after I was finished to wash my sticky hand. Price was $3 which I didn't think to be unreasonable and the young woman working the cart on this miserably hot day was amazingly cheerful. read more

I stumbled upon Front Porch Pops at the Patchworks Craft Fest in Long Beach. It was a nice beautiful sunny Sunday...and the line for something cool and refreshing was LONG! I was really hoping that these Popsicles would be like Viva Pops in San Diego. By the time we were up...they were running out of flavors quick. So my first choice of Mango/Pineapple was out, the man in front of me took the last one. Front Porch Pops where have you been all my life?!?! We had them cater my 5 year old son's birthday party and all I can say is WOW! Expectations were high to begin with but when Adam showed up with the cart the excitement grew to fever pitched with everyone starting to line up. I hoped the he could live up to the hype! Is it fair to give this place a review when I haven't been to the actual storefront yet? Yeah, I'll say yes to it myself. I mean, the popsicle was still consumed fair and square from them. It wasn't for a special event! Anywho, I came across Front Porch Pops (homemade popsicles!) at the SoCo Farmers' Market this past weekend by one of their carts and considering the heat that day, it was a definite must. Can I just say how impressed I was with the flavors? These weren't your regular pops. These were gourmet. These were artisanal. These were too tempting. It was hard to choose a flavor but eventually I decided on the lemon raspberry cheesecake. Duke D.'s choice was easy - he goes for cool names so the Whoa! Watermelon was his pick. My popsicle was oh-so-creamy and the flavors really came through of a cheesecake. I found the raspberry more prominent than the lemon but that was okay. It was still fabulous. The watermelon one pretty much tasted like a frozen watermelon. I'd like to drop by the store itself one day though and see what other tempting flavors await. Matt B. and I spotted this little popsicle cart at Strut Your Mutt in Pan Pacific Park, a great outdoor event on a hot, hot Saturday. A popsicle break was just the thing to help us cool off, so we ponied up six bucks and a dollar tip for two Front Porch Pops gourmet popsicles. The lady at the cart was pretty nice, and I wish I'd liked the popsicles more. They were decent enough and they were perfect in the utilitarian sense - they did help us cool down. The taste and texture, though, weren't my favorite. I had the lemon blueberry cream and it was both icy and strangely fuzzy from bite to bite. The flavors were pleasant enough, but I didn't think it was too successful overall. Matt's strawberry lemonade was more straightforward, and it was a good refreshing popsicle, but again, very icy. I would've enjoyed these popsicles if they were homemade and dispensed out of a friend's freezer, and I'm guessing that is more or less the business model. $3 a pop is steep for the pleasure, but Front Porch Pops aren't bad for a hot weather treat. I hope they keep making enough money to keep doing what they're doing, and maybe make a few tweaks here and there going forward. read more

These guys are pretty good. I took my kids to the yorba linda highschool for easter. It was awesome to see the helicopter drop eggs from the sky. Anyway, it was quite warm out and my kids were asking for popsicles while service was still going on. I said for them to wait til after service was over. Thank goodness they were patient coz the sun was blaring on us. But I was able to get them their treat after they got their easter eggs. And they were so happy. My daughter got vanilla caramel and my son got strawberry mango. I have to admit, j It was pretty good. All their pops are homemade with fresh ingredients. It does melt quite fast so eat quickly. Stumbled upon this cute little stand during the 3rd Anniversary Fullerton Artwalk. I got the melon mint and my bf got the spiced apple cider creamsicle. I like how the flavors don't taste artificial or exaggerated. My melon mint was deliciously refreshing. I didn't really try the apple cider one, but my bf loved it. I had the opportunity to try this place out when they brought out a "Popcart" to the Irvine Farmer's Market. It was pretty warm, so this place was busy! The lady working the cart was super nice and had a wonderful personality, which somehow made the pop taste that much more yummy. They have two main types of flavors: creamy and/or fruity. I tried the cuckoo for coconut (creamy) and loved it. I've never had anything like it before. The thing is, my teeth are ridiculously sensitive to cold, but this pop was so well made that I was able to break chunks off with my lips and still enjoy the coolness of the pop. So creamy, so coconutty, so good! I enjoyed every bite. I didn't particularly like the paper cupcake-holder thingy that it was handed to me in. When the pop started to melt (which was fast because it was so warm out), the paper did little to catch the drips and it just made eating the bottom part of the pop somewhat of a hassle. I would have preferred if it wasn't on there so that I could just lick the melted yumminess. Minor gripe though, compared with the awesome flavor and texture of their pop! read more

I've been a fan of these guys for years! They are without a doubt the best popsicles I've ever had. The flavor combinations are creative and amazingly delicious; today I tried a honeydew mint pop and it was mind-blowingly good. And I'm not even that much of a honeydew fan! Pops are $4 and come in either cream or fruit-based flavors. I've tried quite a few over the years of both varieties and they've all been excellent. What are you waiting for? If you don't trust my opinion, ask anyone at the Patchworks Indie Art and Craft Festival that filled up the line at the Front Porch Pops cart. The first time I had Front Porch Pops was at the OC Great Park summer concert series. Perfect venue in my opinion for this company. After some great salty food truck potatoes the pop was a nice finishing touch. The first flavor I had was the Strawberry Lemonade and it was amazing. Talk about fresh ingredients. Sometimes I see juice type pops that just taste like corn syrup and artificial flavors. This was definitely not the case with Front Porch. My pop had a great mixture of both sweet and tart flavors which allowed me to actually enjoy the pop and not just completely devour it ignoring all flavors completely. Needless to say I took note of this business and bookmarked it on Yelp. I went back for another go this week this time at their business location next to Watson's at the Orange Circle and I was amazed yet again. This time I tried the Roasted Peach and Raspberry pop and just like before I savored every peach filled bite. By that I don't mean chunks of peaches but rather a small underlying roasted peach flavor. There are tiny bits of peach chunks that go well with the texture of the pop but allowing the roasted flavor to flow throughout every bite is perfect an right on par. The raspberry did throw in the subtle tartness I experienced in the strawberry lemonade pop. So needless to say I'm sold and I've been telling everyone about this place. My friend has been back 3x this past week because she has the luxury living just blocks from the store location. Insert Pop envy here _____. I'll be back next time I'm in the area. Went to the Orange Circle street fair over the weekend. Saw this cute little place on one of the street corners and went in. Staff are SO friendly and nice. (And not in that annoying over-the-top kind of way) It was so hot and the pop sounded so refreshing. I decided to get the "Fruity Pebble" flavor. It was YUM! The pop wasnt super milky like an ice cream bar, but it had good flavor.... kinda like a sweet milk taste and had pieces of the fruity pebbles mixed in it. $3 per pop. Which I think is on par with any cupcake or pastry place. The owner/creator was there and she talked to us for a bit. Front Porch Pops was at tonight's Community Dinner in Garden Grove. They have a HUGE variety of flavors. I went with the Dark Chocolate Sea Salt. The problem with most ice creams that have sea salt is they overdo it, and it ends up tasting like a salt lick. Front Porch Pops does it just right, enough to flavor it but not overpower it. We hired Front Porch Pops for our daughter's 1st birthday party. They have a huge selection of pops to choose from and everyone at our party loved the pops. We ordered the mini pops for the party and were just the right size and allowed our guests to be able to try multiple pops. We worked with Adam, he was very friendly and was very helpful to us when we were selecting the flavors for our party. They arrived on time at our party and even stayed a little longer than we had originally agreed on so that our guest could continue to enjoy the pops. I tried the salted caramel pop at the Old Towne Orange Farmer's Market. I absolutely loved the creamy flavor. I decided to stop by their shared storefront and got a bunch of pops. I got 2 free pumpkin spice pops that were amazing as was the banana graham. The mango pineapple and chocolate covered blackberry Cabernet were my least favorite because they were icy. Rather than a truck, these pops are served from a small cart though they show up at food truck events such as OC Fair Food Truck Fare and SOCO Farmers Market. I have sampled quite a few and the creamy ones are the standouts for me. Vanilla Caramel was simply creamy and delicious. More like creamy ices than ice cream. The Monkey Gone Bananas tasted like a grown up pudding pop. The mango lassi was good and there was one with the hint of black peppercorns which was good but I forget the rest of the flavor. Grilled pineapple kind of rocked as well. $2.50/bar. I like the cupcake wrapper "diaper" to avoid drips. These feel like a guilt-free treat. That is my story and I am sticking to it. read more

Their popsicles are fantastic! They were able to cater for my friend's organization event and was such a great hit. I tried their creamy vanilla caramel(salted caramel), blueberry creamsicle, and raspberry plum basil (seasonal). I love the fact that their all homemade and each popsicle has it's own story in a way. It is safe to say we are in love with Front Porch Pops. Who could ever imagine a popsicle being SO good? We recently had them at our Summer Saturday Nights Concert Series, along with some food trucks, and so enjoyed hosting them. Despite the unexpected coldness of the night, we couldn't resist the popsicle cart that was calling to us. We tried a few flavors and have to say, each one was just as incredible as the next. Office staff - Erin - was very helpful in making arrangements to serve ice cream at the annual Avis Heating and Air Conditioning company party. She was friendly and informative about the products available to be served at an outdoor event. The server, Adam, was so charming and refreshing like the ice cream!! He had plenty of patience with the young children and friendly with the adults, just the same. It was a very hot muggy summer day where patience could have been short but not Adam's! He took the time to explain the different flavors and helped match a flavor for what experience the customer was wanting such as "refreshing" might equate to watermelon. Or "fruity" which most thought of strawberry. Then "creamy and smooth" translating into cookies and cream. A good representative for the company. I absolutely LOVE Front Porch Pops. My only issue is there catering coordination. I had them cater my baby shower and everything turned out excellently, but the actual ordering and coordination was a nightmare. First off, there only seems to be one person to contact for catering. We had her cell phone, but neither myself nor anyone she works with could get in contact with her. It was even difficult to pay. Ultimately I still think they are awesome and I want them to flourish, I just hope the catering side improves, as I would love to continue to support an excellent local business (also their prices for catering are VERY reasonable). read more

Because we are now obsessed, I'm updating my review. We didn't have the best 1st experience, but when we returned, Erin, the co-owner, explained how concerned she was about our bad experience, and how they'd had a comedy of errors that day (i.e. a flat tire, sprained ankle, etc are involved). We've returned every Sunday since. It's an odd location, because their main business is through the carts. Follow on FB for alternate opening days, location of carts, etc. Erin now treats us like friends (we're there enough...I guess she should!) The flavors are constantly updated, and we've recently enjoyed Banana Graham (my older daughter said she could bathe in it it's so good), Apple Cider Creamsicle and Pumpkin Creme.
