Lots of seating (of all kinds) and wooden tables in this large pub so it's usually easy to find somewhere to sit and have lunch. It's such a great and varied menu for everyone (including vegetarians - even a choice for vegans!) and incredibly good value, especially on one of the 'special' days. Our favourite is Thursdays when it's the 'Curry Club'. You can have two starters, two main courses and two drinks (including a pint of beer and glass of wine) for £10! We used to seek out specialist vegetarian restaurants and cafes when visiting different towns but now we look for a branch of Wetherspoon instead. We can be sure of a great choice and only spend about a third of the price. Big fans!

They are very clean, service orientated and do good food & drink promotions. Like all the the other pubs in the chain, the name is derived from local history and decorating the interior walls are old photos showing the High Street & Station Road going back to the beginning of last century. Plus a brief history of the namesake of the pub name. Like I said JD Wetherspoons have different promotions on at differing times. This usually involves wine festivals and meal deals. On my particular visit the Real Ale Festival (£1.50/£1.60 on selected local real ales) was ongoing plus it was their Thursday curry night (Curry & drink for £4.99 which is a £1 cheaper than the Smith & Jones chain of pubs who also have curry nights on Thursday.) The pubs was quite spacious incl. a room for private parties upstairs. he bar was also tastefully furnished too. Would recommend it for a good meal & drink, plus it is central to Port Talbot in terms of location.

The pubs is tastefully furnished, clean & has some nice movie and sporting pictures dotted around its decor. Also like the two pub crawl posters of Cardiff & Swansea on the walls. Also has several flat screen TVs. Ther is a good selction of ales available and on my visit had a rather good pint of Brains Dark Smooth which I recommend as a personal choice. Which is a shame really because this place is central to Port Talbot situated a stones throw away from the Aberafan shopping centre and the Princess Royal Theatre which makes it an ideal watering hole conveniently placed. However once inside the premises, the interior is in a lot better condition. The staff & locals are quite friendly. I enjoyed a pint of the new Guinness Surge there on my visit. The interior boasts Sky TV & Telextext on large flast screens, jukebox, a pool table and in one corner one of those boxing arcade type machines (the ones that determines the strength or weight of your punch) you would normally see at a funfair. The walls are painted a dark green, with a few pictures on the wall, this coupled with the shamrock motif on the windows drive home the Irish theme yet further. I would heartily recommend a visit even if only for a swift cheeky pint.

The room was very comfortable, and quite. Food was excellent, my complaints to the chef. The local people that came to the hotel for a drink were very friendly. And we had a lovely stay at this lovely old hotel. We enjoyed it so much that I intend to rebook for next years festive break. I would recommend the twelve knights to anyone wishing to stay for a night or two. Again many thanks to the manager, and staff, and we look forward to seeing you again, at the festive period.
