The service by the staff was superb ...amazing experience...we did a wine tasting (so good) while we were there and she was very knowledgeable and helpful ..our party of four walked out with a total of 8-10 bottles of wine between us! We also shopped and each left with a bag of gifts to give...value in my opinion was surprisingly very good for a gift shop! Great value ..great location ..lots of parking ..we loved it!

A couple friends and I decided we wanted to do a wine tasting at James Arthur Vineyards on a Saturday. James Arthur recently purchased From Nebraska Gift Shop and converted part of it into a tasting room, so we decided to try this location rather than going to the actual vineyard in Raymond. Most of the space is still a gift shop, but about a quarter of it has small tables with a "bar" where you get wine samples. Since the employees are also operating the cash register for the gift shop, there is sometimes a bit of a wait to do the wine tasting, but we didn't find it to be an issue. The wine tasting comes with 5 wine samples. When you start your wine tasting, they give you a glass and a sheet with all of their wines listed. You then mark the 5 wines you want to taste on the sheet and bring the sheet up to the bar with you when you are ready for your next pour. I thought this system worked pretty well. My only complaint is that the descriptions on the sheet are pretty limited so you are sort of guessing (or googling, in my case) as to what you are drinking (they do not even identify whether the wines are white or red). We all really enjoyed the wines we tried. We also decided to try the bread, meat, and cheese basket. You select the cheese you want (we went with a spinach artichoke one) and receive a warm loaf of bread and summer sausage. We were not fans of the sausage, but the bread was good and the cheese was excellent. They offer a few light appetizers, and you can also order heavier appetizers from the restaurant next door and have them served to your table. The shop itself has a lot of interesting stuff and we enjoyed browsing while we drank our wine. It is right across from a very affordable parking garage, which makes parking easy. This place is a neat addition to the area and is a good option if you want to enjoy a wine tasting but do not want to drive outside of town to do so.

When you first walk in the door, this shop appears to have the potential to be a small Williams…read moreSonoma or Sur la Table, but the similarities end when you spend a few moments trying to find something specific. Certain item sizes, colors, model variations, etc. are always "out of stock", leaving you frustrated that you wasted your time going to a brick-and-mortar store, and ultimately having to go home and order the product online. I tried to give this store a chance, but after many, many experiences like that over the course of several years, I have given up hope on Habitat entirely. I haven't been there for over a year, but the older (unfriendly) lady at the cash register outright lied to me about product availability, saying that a brand of bowl only came in the size and color they had in stock -- all while I was comparing other colors and sizes on my phone, available from vendors around the country. Sometimes they have something in stock in small quantities, and if you miss out, they may not have it again for months; and I don't mean obscure seasonal decorations, but cooking essentials that are needed year-round. Everyone complains that local stores are going out of business because of internet competition, but I think that's largely an excuse made by dud business owners. For example: right next door is Hobby Town USA which has an amazing supply of products, competitive prices with online giants, and the gumption to do special orders for rapid delivery if you need something they don't have. Habitat, by comparison, seems like a place that "wants to act" as if they're a serious cooking store, but then doesn't want to put in the effort or investment to stock the product quantities and varieties needed by true, hardcore foodies.

Very surprised no one's reviewed them yet. Habitat's been in Lincoln for ages; I have wedding…read moregifts from here. I really only check out the cooking side of the store; the home decor section is lovely but isn't what I came for. If you need several choices in size and brand for springform pans, or you want a wooden lemon reamer or a citrus zester, this is the place. They have free recipes set up in a drawer on a table; a select collection of cookbooks and foodie books; spices (Madagascar vanilla; no Tahitian, alas, but no one seems to carry that); a small selection of high-end chocolate bars; silicone baking sheets...well, it's a good gourmet cooking store and if that sounds like fun to you you'll love it.

No greeting, no hello, no "can I help you" as we shopped. My daughter found a sweatshirt, tried it on and went to pay. Clerk could not get the safety tag off. It took 10 minutes. No apology, thanks for your patience, etc. Once tag was removed she rang up the sale. Didn't give my daughter the total. My daughter paid and realized she was charged full price. Told the clerk the piece was on sale (which was clearly marked on the tag). No apology or recognition of a mistake. Great selection of clothing, however. If service would have been better I would have considered trying on more clothes. We will not return. Very disappointing.

Really enjoy the selection here, especially with their reasonable price range. ACCESSORIES: Colorful, sleek, and everything in between. Their selection isn't giant by any means, but you can easily find a good accessory to pair with an outfit. Only complaint is that I wish the earrings I bought came with a back piece! They're a bit prone to falling out of my earlobes without the piece. STAFF: Super helpful! Maddy is the best ever and has managed to help me find a new piece every time I've come in.

This tiny little business is in the gift shop of the Airport Motel 6. I've never seen a gift shop…read morein a Motel 6 before, but there's a little sign when you enter the lobby, and if you call they'll put you through. It's a little dusty; there are some Nebraska souvenirs; some little cookbooks; but really, it's about the jewelry. They have a bunch of turquoise jewelry (Zuni, Nazajo...), a little amber, some abalone, and some silver (watches, rings...) Rings ran small - if you need a pretty turquoise ring for $35 for someone with tiny fingers, you're in luck. Some lovely blue chunky necklaces, several greenish ones, some mosaic pendants, carved birds / bear pieces, an interesting amber pendant or two, turquoise pendants ranging from petite to massive (pendants include a silver chain). Some massive rings that would cover half the length of a finger. Some earrings including tiny abalone studs ($16), and they'll happily apply the coupon from "Shop Lincoln Shop Nebraska" for 15% off jewelry whether you bring it or not: it's posted on the door. Credit card reader was broken when we were there, and the motel's ATM will only let you take out $200, which wouldn't cover some of the larger pieces. Many of the pieces include the name of the artist or at least which tribe, as well as which mine the turquoise is from - they make a big point of supporting Indian artisans. If you're thinking of visiting, come soon - this is a one-woman business. and she's pretty elderly; when we were there a friend of hers was helping out. Shop has apparently been there for 35 years and none of my local family had ever heard of it, so I'm glad I saw the ad. Posted hours state shop opens at 8:30; when I called they said they'd be there til 4:30. Haven't seen anything else like this in Lincoln; if you like turquoise, worth a stop.
