I love this place. why the 2 stars? okay let me explain. I love this place. I started visiting this amazing salon when they first opened on Dundas. the owner is the sweetest and even though I've only been here a few times though the previous visits were truly magical - I always smiled when I saw my gorgeous gel nail after visiting the salon. so I had this event coming up and decided to book an appointment. when I arrived, they made me wait for 15 minutes. sucks, but whatever. when the got to the nailist's station, the cup that the precious customer used was still on the table with an opened candy wrap. ummm, sure? I had a specific design I wanted - red tortoiseshell. I chose the colors and asked the stylist if everything is fine and she said yes. well, she overestimated everything. it just looked like a blotchy, uneven red nail. so I said "well can we pick a different color and fix it?" and she said "no." (communication was not an issue because I spoke the nailist's native tongue) saddened by this, I decided to just get red nails with gold line. that gold line is so uneven and sparse, I was just so heartbroken that the place I truly love is having a mishap. including the tips, I paid $100 for gel nails without the designs I wanted to get and ended up with feeling sad whenever looking at my nails. so. if you're going to book an appointment at this place, call them and book a session with the owner, if they let you do so. it's my fault that I didn't do that.

Best Japanese nail salon! I left vancouver thinking I wouldn't find anywhere comparable but I'm so glad I found this place. The ladies here are the kindest & so sweet, they really care about making your nails beautiful. Every time I leave this salon I can't stop looking at my nails. I love it here! Definitely recommended. I usually pay around 80-90$ for a full set including the removal of my previous Nails. You do get what you pay for and I much rather come here than to go somewhere cheaper and have my nails ruined. My set usually lasts 30 days before I have to come back again. Also - cutest decor ever!!!

By far the best nail place in Toronto. I searched a long time for an authentic Japanese salon that does gel nails. The owner and all the staff are Japanese, because the owner only hires people who have the Japanese manicurist certificate. This means the manicurists are friendly, professional, and well trained. They have pre-made designs you can choose from (starting at around $85), or you can bring in photos of what you want. I can't recommend them enough. Go for a nice relaxing time, and enjoy your beautiful nails for weeks after.

First time visiting and was blown away by Yumi's work and dedication. Every step she took from shaping my nails, to cleaning my cuticles and lastly painting she would ask if it was ok to proceed to the next step. She was very detailed oriented and made me feel important. I also had a nail fixed using silk wrapping and you can't even tell which finger it was. For the price, the work was perfect! The location was clean and comfortable!

After seeing their Instagram page and a few positive reviews I decided to give this salon a try. Overall, I was not blown away by their price to result ratio. They charge an extremely high amount just for extensions alone (not including gel or design). But I was still willing to get them done since I believed that they would be better than other salons due to their experience with intricate designs. The nail tech was very friendly, but it seemed like they don't usually do extensions at their salon. It took her almost over 2 hours to get the extensions on and filed. She seemed unsure herself about the evenness of the filing, so I had to tell her which direction to file down. Even after all that filing the shape wasn't really a perfect almond and I felt that one of the extensions were glued on crooked, but it was too late to change it. When I got home and took a good look at my nails, I noticed the tech left a pretty noticeable gap from my cuticles on my middle fingers, ring fingers and thumbs. It made my nails look like I had grown them out for a week and not look freshly done. I checked their Instagram page to confirm and it seems like only my nails were painted this way and others had theirs painted pretty close to their cuticles. I contacted them the next day asking if it's possible to fix and they said they would only fix one nail. I returned to their salon the day after and they were convinced that my nails had already grown in a span of 2 days resulting in the gap, which is absurd since I sent them pictures of my nails the day after and they looked exactly the same when I returned to the salon. They agreed to fix 2 of my nails and I agreed since I spent over $180 on these nails and it's better than getting nothing fixed at this point. I deeply regret even going to get them "fixed" as they look even worse than before. The new tech this time kept on piling and brushing on the polish making it look extremely thick and bulbous and ugly (see the pictures). At this point I couldn't even do or say anything since the damage was already done. Even after this the cuticle gap was still noticeable. Looking back, I feel grossly overcharged and I feel like I could have bought the gold and shell nail flakes online myself and gotten this design done for less than half the price at a cheaper salon and for less time.

And to top it all off, she even suggested I add a bit of sparkle to my nails at the end which was just...*chef's kiss*. Who knows what SJ stood for, but it was after some careful consideration that the new name was chosen, I'm quite sure of that. They are right in the middle of the block, and with a big bright purple sign, very hard to miss. This place was a-buzz with activity when I went and seemed like a local favourite. For the first time, I decided to opt for the reflexology option for my massage experience here, which turns out is a fancy name for foot and lower leg massage. I had a dude for this part, and he was amazing at making my feet feel awesome. Thinking about my feet, it's not something that I felt needs attention, but I was super happy that I spent the extra coin on this option as feet are something that can get taken for granted. First they bring a bucket of hot water to soak them in, and then the guy massages them along with the leg below the knee. Well worth trying out and see how it feels. The massage included some of the back-walking, but wasn't quite as intense as the other experience I had. Since the place was quite busy, there were more distractions making the experience less than ideal. Still quite impressive and worth checking out to see for yourself. The place seemed right out of a movie and unforgettable!
