this place is amazing. My Australian cattle dog loves going here for her bath and nail grind. They always treat her like a queen. She's so soft after and is great for her spring shedding grooming I've also referred my in-laws to take their two dogs here as well a boxer and a Weimer Reiner that have severe anxiety for nail cutting, but when they came here, the dogs were super calm and they were able to trim their nails no problem they must work some magic here!!! read more

This review is a little different but felt it was needed to be shared. My dog had injured his dew nail the night before and it was a bloody mess. The next day I had a hard time reaching my vet. I called Head to Tail asking if my situation was something they wanted to take on. Much to my surprise they indicated that they would assess the injury and help with my problem. Once we came in my dog was greeted and taken back for the assessment. A little while later, my dog was handed over to me. The caregiver indicated that they cleaned and shaved the area and grinded down the nail and completed the other nails. The injury wasn't as bad as I thought but never the less, my gratitude can't be expressed enough. The level of kindness and caring was over and beyond what was expected. I brought my little 12 year old yorkie Nylah in there this morning for a nail trim, this was our first time going there. From head to tail was recommended through a post I did on Facebook, because she is a very anxious girl. When I called to set up the appointment in the first place the person I spoke to was super nice answered all of my questions and reassured they would take great care of Nylah. When I arrived this morning I spoke with Whitney, and I let her know more about Nylah and how anxious and scared she gets going to groomer. And she came up with a plan to ease Nylah into it and do as much as she would allow without pushing it. I knew Nylah felt safe and comfortable there when we were getting ready to leave and she kept walking back to Whitney. Nylah would never do that at any other groomer, she would be ready to dart out the door as soon as she was done. I'm truly grateful for Whitney, through the crazy busy morning they had she still took the time to make sure I was heard and took her time to comfort Nylah as well. Poor customer service by the owner . Groomer left after Christmas and she made my dogs appointments on Saturday which was / is what I preferred. My dog got sick with Ghardia and also had a neutering appointment so I had to change appointments... understandably so ....either way what a terrible decision by owner. I'm a generous tipper and my dog is my everything. His health and well being goes above and beyond all else even if that means I need to change appointments Mind you I did all I could to not have to change or leave a bad review but they earned it ! Took my aunts new little dog there every three months for three years and always tipped at least 20%. When the groomer she regularly saw moved and new person took care of I had a couple issues. The owner suggested I'd be happier elsewhere because they were a fast place and my 5lb 3yr old girl was a little shy. Too busy to care about customer loyalty. read more

They do a good job with the groom but their customer service is not so good. Every time I go to make an appointment I'm on hold for at least 5-10min and have been forgotten about on the phone several times. My dog is very anxious for several days after the groom. She's always sitting on her bottom and she doesn't want to play. This last groom I scheduled I had my dad drop off my dog. My dad had called about ten after ,when he was driving, to see if my dog could still get groomed. They said he had a 15 min window after the scheduled time 10am. My dad was a bit late about 10-20min late and they wanted him to pay 25$ for being late. They did not mention this on the phone. It's important to note that my dogs groom usually takes 2 to 2 and a half hours and roughly costs 60$ (15$ for 30 min if the groom lasts 2 hours and that's being generous).So after my dad refused to pay and brought my dog home not groomed, I called the place. I asked why he was asked to pay 25$ for 20min to which the worker responded that my dad was 30min late which could not have been the case because I made the call at 1030 and the appointment was at 10. Anyways they said it was their policy so I accepted that. I asked when I could get in next and they proceeded to tell me that I could not make a new appointment now or in the future. Why? Because of being late today, cancelling an appointment last year ( cancelling within reasonable time of appt. not no showing), and because one time I had to take my dog home because when I went to hand her over to the groomer she was violently shaking and whining. This establishment is obviously only in it for the money and does not care about you or your dog. I would not recommend and suggest you find a different groomer. read more

I do not recommend. The owner Whitney is rude, racist, disrespectful and unprofessional. For anyone, specifically minorities, find somewhere else to send your furbabies. It takes them 4hrs or more to do 1 grooming, they cut my dogs hair too short at one grooming and my dog was cut. They also increased prices and do not tell you until after services so you have no choice to pay. Whitney also has no respect on how she speaks to African Americans. There are other groomers that will appreciate you. read more

We have been coming here for years even after moving an hour away- we still can't find a place that does a job as well with our large dog. Only negative is they are booked out so far in advanced which is a further testimony to how much customers like from head to tail. Not sure on the negative reviews never experienced anything the managers weren't willing to address with us. read more

The ladies at The Barker Shop are fantastic. My dog comes back happy and well groomed! It's a small quaint shop that has a great little fenced area for the dogs to run outside and everything is very clean. The prices are very fair and for the quality is it very reasonable! With a good groomer comes a little wait for an appt but I'd rather wait a week and take my dog to Whitney than let Petco or some other big chain hack my dog's hair to pieces! Extremely disappointed, and we will never go back to this place. I took my small dog there for the first time about a year ago and he was cut (or "nicked" as they told me). I told a couple friends of mine to try this place out and give it a try and both of my friends dogs were nicked as well and so the decided to never return. We decided to give the business another second try as everyone makes mistakes. Well we went back and I was advised they nicked my dog again not once but twice, when I picked him up it was much worse than a nick, he had blood on one spot as it looked more like a gauge and the second area was even worse with a missing/clipped off ear cartilage piece. I know have to take my dog to the vet, if you care about your animal I would highly advise you to not take your animal here. read more

Went here to have my dog nails trimmed. There was some miss communication and my dog got his nails trimmed, bath, blow dry, ears, cleaned, and his anal glads expressed. It was refreshing that they called me took total responsibility and offered a discount on the service provided. Anyway the gave my dog a bandana. Im pretty sure he loved(s) it. Would've gave them 5 stars if it wasn't for the miss communication. But we are all human and make mistakes and they handled it greatly. We will be using them again read more

Only take your pet here if you really don't care about your pet. Let me tell you about the owners. They sponsor a rec league baseball team. One of the owners is a coach. The team consists of boys who are sophomores thru seniors. They recently played a group of Freshman. FYI this is totally acceptable and within the rules. After this team started losing they proceeded to start cussing out the umpire, cleeted an opposing player to where they were attempting to break his foot, threw a bat at a player and started throwing pitches at a player all to the owners delight. They also began to threaten to attack the opposing team and throw gang signs. At the end of the game 4 of their players surrounded one of the players to jump him while the owner, parents, and employees watched. The parents of the other team had to stop it and were mocked by this business due to stopping the altercation. Kenosha teams asked to join this league because they didn't have enough teams. Not a shock. Just think if they treat people who can speak for themselves how will they treat those who cannot? read more

I couldn't possibly tell you how disappointed I was with this place. First of all they took four hours for them to groom my dog. I asked them to trim my dog a certain way and they said they could do it. A simple westie cut. They do things to your dog with out your permission like popping his butt. Charge extra for shampoo. cut all of the hair over his eyes that protects him from the sun. My dog cried and had nightmares for two days, wouldn't leave my side and wanted me to hold him constantly. There's more but I'll stop here. They even had the nerve to ASK for a tip! They really suck. If you love your dog don't take them to that slaughter house. read more

Very nice store. Went in here for the first time the other day. Just wish Their Fromm Dog food was cheaper. Its a good $6.00 cheaper for a five pound bag where I normally go. Fromm is all I feed my dog. Overall, I did like your store though. read more
