There was a good 20+ people waiting. She looked no one in the eyes, no apologies. Nothing. She then turns her back to everyone and goes to the registers. This is where it really started to get good. I had three items to return and her rudeness out the gate was next level. She was flippant, condescending, and very rude. She clearly couldn't do her job properly and was unable to find my receipt that was located in the app. You could tell she was getting more and more frustrated, and the tone of her voice was getting angrier. After she started scrolling through my receipts online, she then looks at me and tells me to put my email in the phone they had at the register because she couldn't find my purchases and it was taking too long. There was an issue with my email in the app so it wasn't going to work and I explained that to her, but she wanted to do it anyway, and when she realized I was right it made her more frustrated. At this point, I'm done dealing with her attitude, and I asked her for the manager, and she looked at me with a smile on her face and said "I am the manager" and then said in a smart tone "Why don't you bring your receipt in next time"! At that moment, I looked behind me to the long line of people and said "Are you hearing this lady"?! Everyone was speechless at her rudeness and at that point I told her I would be filing a complaint and that she deserved to be fired. I am a very understanding person as a business owner myself but nothing constitutes the manner in which I was treated. This "manager" is a joke let alone incompetent and I can guarantee I'm not the first or the last to complain.

I went for my first time 2 weeks ago to get some clothes for my son who is two, he wears a size 3T or 4T depending on the brand. I didn't find much (6 pants and a toy) and usually I leave with 2 huge bags -- from other locations. Upon entering the store it seemed clean and organized till you reach the back toy section and side wall with all the infant products; just a unorganized mess of stuff! I couldn't believe the price they're asking for half of the items they have in their store -- definitely one of the pricier locations I've been to. Most items weren't even half off the original price from major retailers so just pay attention to what you're buying used, especially when you can get it from the retailer themself on sale, brand new for cheaper. I don't think I'll shop there again, however I will sell them my used stuff if they're racking their prices for their products must mean they're buying items for more (probably not, but we'll see)

Yesterday I was waiting in a long customer service line while the clerk folded bags and said "if you are in a hurry this is not the place to be because nothing is moving quickly here today" And then I went to the cosmetic counter where the clerk was not friendly and gave very little interaction, although she did assist with providing the product I asked for without much input. Very few registers were open. I will not be visiting the store often, for my browsing and leisure shopping, since I have plenty more friendly and professional options!

Independence Mall has been around since 1979, opening in the heyday of American mall culture with Belk-Beery, JCPenney, and Sears as its original anchors. A fourth wing came along in 2001 to make room for Dillard's, and the place has seen a fair bit of redesign since then. These days, it leans more open and airy, with nods to Wilmington's coastal vibe. We weren't in a hurry, so we mostly wandered just taking it in. We ducked into a couple of shops, browsed a bit, and yes, came away with the Bath & Body Works haul we'd hoped for.
