Negatives: I was charged $600 (in addition to the higher weekend fee to come out) for a repair that took 20 minutes and required no parts. It was two different charges that didn't really make sense because you couldn't have really done one without the other. It felt like I was taken advantage of as a single woman on a holiday weekend who didn't know how easy/quick the repair would be when I agreed to the cost. The service man also told me that the credit card payment on his tablet wasn't working so I had to pay by check. I wasn't planning to dispute a charge, but this made it to where I didn't have the option. I responded to two different text surveys with this rating and information and was assured both times that the service manager would follow up and they never did. My father also called multiple times and never got follow up. I was waiting until we heard back from them before I posted a negative review (I communicated this to them), but it's now been over 4 weeks. I have used them for repairs before without issue, but will not be using them again and would not recommend them to my friends/family/neighbors.

MPE does not have any Birmingham electricians. They rely on Florence. However they do not tell Florence any instructions. They really don't communicate well within their own offices. They do not read the permits for inspections or requirements for placing the generator. My install, which was sold as a two day project has taken 2 months, with rain delays and lies about how many installs were ahead of mine. Then they put the unit too close to a post and it had to be moved. Then the electrical and gas had to be redone. I took off a vacation day during the electrical, to let them inside the home to work on load shedding, but the electricians don't know how to do that, so I am still waiting on an HVAC guy and will have to take another day. Technicians are always polite and respectful. In 2012 we had to replace an entire unit $8,700/ with a 12 yr warranty. I called and asked them to come back out because the unit was so loud. I was told our duct work was too small for a 5ton unit??ok, but why wasn't it loud from the original 5ton (heat pump) unit? Second time they came out I was told it was just that heat pumps are loud. Again why wasn't the original unit loud. In 2014 we had to replace the second unit. . Another $7,800. Today's service the tech shows me a small amount of microbial growth on the evaporator coil and wiring....he says it's in the duct work as well. He explains (very well) there are two choices....a stick light $1,000. Or the better choice is a purification system $1,800. Shouldnt the maintenance take care of this? Maybe I just have really bad luck but this has been the most expensive "cost prevention" I have ever had.

We called the office about 4:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I explained what the unit was doing as the outside unit would not kick on to save its life. They stated that they had an appointment cancel for tomorrow and could fit us in. Of course being without air for a night was going to be rough. I was not happy but agreed for the next day appointment. About 10-15 minutes later I get a call from them stating that they were going to have a tech swing by in a bit to check it out. Another technician came out and fixed those two things, but I lost out on earning a fee for teaching a piano lesson because my student couldn't handle the heat. 3) I discovered that the first guy had broken my hose winder when he used the hose, and I had to replace that. 4) my one request was that the company come pick up my broken hose winder which I left next to the street. I waited at least two weeks, calling multiple times to ask them to come pick the it up. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Today, finally, I took it upon myself to take it apart so that it could fit in my garbage bin. A lot of work for a 75-year-old to do. Needless to say, Aire Serv is off my list.
