He was very comfortable and loved the large green space outside. *We also liked that it was adults only when we were there. Cons: Parking is a little tight. When we arrived, we had trouble getting into door #1 but we figured it out. It was stuck and you had to push it hard to get it open. We wished there was more closet space or more space to put our two suitcases. The road The Bond is located on gave me "Pet Semetary" vibes... it's a highway with many fast cars and semi trucks driving by and there's no barrier between the grass and the road. Definitely keep your pets on a leash. Also to note, my husband was under the impression The Bond was located on the lake based on the photos from the website and the room we stayed in was advertised as "Lake View King, Room 1". This b&b is actually located across highway 41 from the lake and we could barely see it. This was a disappointment.

We rented out the 2-bedroom "suite" with a full bathroom across the hall. The other two rooms each have their own bathroom, so you don't have to share with other guests. The house is quiet, cozy and the decoration is not too over-done. The wide living room is a wonderful place to play board games, read a book in the comfy chairs, or play the piano. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee plentiful. There was even a small refrigerator available in the dining room to store our open bottle of wine from Varick Winery.

This was our first experience at a Bed & Breakfast and it was lovely. The owner, Clark, was friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home them moment we arrived. Our room was clean, the water pressure for the shower was powerful, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in on vacation. Clark cooked delicious breakfasts with the freshest ingredients, and was accommodating to our food restrictions/preferences. Also noteworthy, the B&B is off the main street and next to the lake so it is the perfect spot when staying in Skaneatales, NY. The inn keepers were wonderful hosts and did not overlook any details. Breakfasts were three courses each morning and delicious and suprising -- never a typical country breakfast. It's the beginning of fall and cool weather, and it's New York State, all of which put me in a lovely mood. However, being a B&B/yurt experience I wasn't sure how to go about the initial check-in. So, my first pleasure is the fact that I met Angela in the driveway, and then Chris came out (it is only fair to-say these two are fresh owners but not new to the hospitality business), and the grand tour was immediately warm and inviting. Homemade pastries, discussions about the wonderful historic, architecture, and themselves relaxed my husband and I from the seven hour trip immediately. We chose a Yurt stay as novelty and were extremely surprised with amenities. Lovely fresh pastries and morning foods, fresh water , coffees, and all the necessary items "to get you going", were provided. Options for eggs in the morning were available. Beds were very comfy. Yurts were very clean. Views plentiful with the option of an outdoor fire and chairs looking at one of the finger lakes available. After the first night we brought back new found friends for their own yurt experience (at 90 yers old no less). They were very pleased as well. Also, one of the best parts was hearing the outdoor sounds as if in a tent but in a homey setting without the tent mess! We will certainly do another long weekend next fall. Highly recommend!

My husband and I reserved a room at the Gridley inn for 1 night! We had tickets to a concert at the…read moreLincoln hills farm and didn't feel like the hour and a half drive home afterwards! We did notify them that we'd like to do an early check in seeing that the concert opened doors at 5! My husband also notified the b&b that I had an allergy to nuts and apples. We arrived around 4 pm and we had to ring the bell. We were greeted by a woman who did not introduce herself but we surely introduced ourselves! We were met by a very gruff woman who was the owner! Made sure to tells us no food in the rooms or drink! Use the common room! Being very accommodating people and very much the rule followers we said ok! Once in our rooms we found ourselves whispering, and my husband actually said why are we whispering, I quickly reply that that woman scares me! The house and our room was gorgeous, clean and well appointed. There were lots of places to sit inside and outside. We never took advantage of those, and also given that the owners always hung around the public spaces we understood why the other guests all waited outside for breakfast. (Not using the china, of course) To make a very long story short the owners are very over bearing! Both are crass and not welcoming! We could not use the "good" china outside of the dining room! My husband asked for orange juice and he got none, I drank mine and didn't feel comfortable to ask for more! There was suppose to be water available to all guest, when there was none, instead of offering to get us some they argued with each other about why there was no water! My husband and I just said Diet Coke is fine! We just grabbed our stuff and left! It must be noted that we are not new to bed and breakfasts! We have actually stayed in quite a few! We have always felt welcomed and more than comfortable! Not the case here! When you are not comfortable asking for orange juice there is a problem!
