I wanted to go to Zilla's Donuts for a while to try some real pastries…read more When I got there, the establishment was pretty calm and quiet coming in. They have specialty coffees, such as lattes and caramel macchiatos. When I ordered their Drip Coffee, the staff member prepared it fresh and upon request with the option of cream and/or sugar. The coffee was near perfection in taste. I also ordered the following pastries: Red Velvet Cake, Nutella Doughnut, Sugar Stuffed Heart Cookie and the Chai Latte Doughnut. The red velvet cake is very delicious with fondant being incredibly flavorful. The cookie was okay if not a little hard with the cream filling being pretty good. The Nutella doughnut tasted great while the Chai Latte Doughnut had good subtle flavours and not being too overly sweet. I enjoyed their doughnuts so much that I bought some of the ones I have yet to try to go. The young woman working at Zilla's was very nice and professional with her work. I hope to come back to this place again soon and try more different Doughnut creations.

First site was wowed by the dish but skinny fries are not my fave. I have to say the fries were good as they had some bigger ones hidden in the pile. Gravy was really good, a bit peppery but I like that. The burger was delish! Perfectly cooked with great flavour, the sauce and veggies were good and bun was an excellent match for that burger. It's too bad they only serve this week days between 10-2:30 because if I didn't have the day off may never had the opportunity to try it. They should have it on weekends too! And make thicker fries. That's my only complaint. Otherwise go get one!!!

I was really looking forward to going to the Duft & Co for a while and saw all the delicious baked…read moregoods they made from their Google reviews. When I went there, however, I was a little disappointed that it was not as extravagant as I was hoping. Their choices in baked goods were very scarce. When I arrived there I found out that they do not serve their breakfast/lunch menu, but instead the daily special advertisement from their indoor sign. I ordered the Mozzarella & Caramelized Onions Focaccia bread and their cappuccino. The focaccia was great with the caramelized onions adding succulence and flavour that stood out. The cappuccino was good, nothing special though. I also had their Almond Butter cake, which was good as well if not a little solid to eat. There was not much to talk about the interior ambiance of the café and there was not much space inside, unless you go to the back of the café. The staff was very courteous in serving me and has a good deal of knowledge about their business. My experience at the Duft & Co Bakehouse was pretty good, and I would like to give them another try. However, it will be a while because of their obscured business hours would be hard for me to come around.

I've been dying to try this bakery for awhile and each time I have failed and it's no one's fault but mine since they were either sold out or I came on a day they were closed. So this day I planned ahead. I got there ten minutes before opening which always makes me feel awkward but a line was already formed outside. Once they opened you go in and are greeted with a wide array of pastries and baked goods. I picked quite a few but will say that I'm biased as I went to pastry school and well this was the best croissant I've ever had. It was flaky on the outside and nice and buttery on the inside. You can tell that they worked hard on these and laminated them perfectly. The coffee was good too but the pastries stole the show and I will be back.

We drove nearly twelve hours round-trip to visit the Dutch Bakery in Lynden because my husband is…read moreDutch, and we were genuinely excited to experience an authentic Dutch bakery. Unfortunately, the visit was extremely disappointing. We spent approximately $40 on baked goods, including what we were told were stroopwafels. The cookies we received had no caramel filling and were extremely stale--so dry, brittle, and unpleasant that we could not eat them. There was also no freshness or expiration date on the package. The other products we purchased were disappointing enough that we ultimately threw everything away. The employee behind the counter was not knowledgeable about the products and could not make us a fresh stroopwafel. We also found very little of the Dutch selection or experience we had made the long drive expecting. I tried calling the bakery for two days, but I could not reach anyone because their telephone was apparently malfunctioning. By the time I finally reached the store, I had already discarded the inedible products. I was then told that they would not provide a refund because they have a strict 24-hour return policy. That policy seems especially unreasonable for stale, undated food--particularly when the store could not be reached by telephone during that period. I was not asking for anything excessive; I simply wanted the bakery to stand behind approximately $40 worth of food that was stale and inedible when it was sold to us. A sincere apology and reasonable effort to resolve the problem would have made a significant difference. Instead, the response felt dismissive and left us regretting both the purchase and the long drive. Based on the poor product quality, lack of freshness dating, limited product knowledge, inability to reach the business, and refusal to offer a reasonable resolution, I cannot recommend the Dutch Bakery in Lynden.

Today I stopped in and got a breakfast (Farmers) hand pie, an Irish cream coffee, and a white chocolate raspberry scone. I'm so disappointed. The handpie was not even half filled, the very nice young lady nuked it in the microwave to an inch of its life. It was dry, hard as a rock and the small amount of filling was not worth the price. I only ate half as the crust was too hard to bite into. So then still hungry I tried the scone. Even worse. A glutinous blob of no flavor. The size and texture of a hockey puck. I realized too late the the bottom was also burnt. I threw it away. The coffee was ok, but way overly sweet. I wish so bad I could give good stars but I spent $23 and all I got was a mildly ok coffee.
