When the poor guy finally arrived, all he had was his smart phone to try and check off the members of the restive crowd. A freaking piece of paper on a clipboard would have been 3 times faster. The corn was not even that good. I expected giant ears like we got last time and usually get. These were small to average. I expected husks to be full. Some corn had husks partially peeled. And it wasn't like they were giving them away. Lessons learned. They owe us $25 and an apology.

There are a few food stands that serve fresh food, flower stands, local food stands, etc. I recommend getting there early for produce if you want to grab before they sell out. Parking around is $1.50 for an hour. You might be able to snag a spot when someone is leaving who can pass over their little parking pass. Lots of tickets out yesterday on cars who didn't pay, so don't get caught in that mess.

Chose some hot sauces and honey butter. They put everything in a box for me which was great as I couldn't carry the items home. Very convenient. First time driving thru Palisade on our way back from Grand Junction and Moab. It's a quaint town known for local farms and wineries. Clark Family Orchards seemed like a reliable spot, so we stopped by to check out the fruit stand. Now, this isn't one of those rinky dink fruit stands on the side of the highway. For starters, you are surrounded by beautiful views of the Grand Mesa. It's a charming store with an abundance of products. You can easily drop a small fortune if you weren't careful. We bought a whole lot of fresh peaches, cherries and jams. The peaches and cherries were consumed right away, and damn they were mighty tasty treats. Nothing better than freshly harvested fruits. The peaches steal the show, but I implore you not to skip out on the cherries. They are just as fantastic! There are a good amount of orchards and farms to choose from when out in Palisade. Clark is a great family owned one to support.
