We were both surprised to find this is more of a restaurant rather than a coffee shop. As a matter of fact, they even did not have any sweet treats, such as muffins or donuts that are usually in a coffee shop. The eggs and hash browns I ordered were good and the coffee was good and the waiter kept the cups filled. My wife had a croissant and said it was fine.

Food: They have a large selection of breakfast pastries, including scones, cinnamon rolls, hand pies, and more. There are also some savory items, such as a rosemary biscuit. It was a tough choice, but when in doubt, I go for a scone, and they had a Maple Cinnamon one. I had it warmed up a bit, and it was delicious. These scones are not muffins in disguise, which means the texture is a bit drier and more crumbly--perfect alongside a hot beverage. For my drink, I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte. I was hoping to have it served in an actual ceramic mug, but those are only offered to customers who order drip coffee. That said, they made a very good London Fog, with a little extra lavender and plenty of foam. For my taste, it could have been a bit hotter. Service: Everyone who helped us was kind and helpful and gave us plenty of time to choose the perfect pastries. When ordering the London Fog, they explained how they make theirs and how they would add the extra lavender, which I appreciated. As mentioned above, they do not provide mugs for specialty drinks, using mugs instead to keep track of customers who have paid for bottomless drip coffee. I could bring my own mug from home, but I am not a fan of carrying around coffee shop essentials. Atmosphere: The building is nicely designed on the outside and sits on a corner with plenty of large windows that bring in natural light. It faces north, so you avoid the glaring morning sun. Upon entering, there is a short walk to the counter, where you can view all of the bakery and pastry items. A menu board above clearly displays the breakfast and lunch offerings, making it easy for first time visitors. There are numerous tables that accommodate small groups, and a fireplace with a couple of upholstered chairs offers a cozy seating option. Even after filling up with customers, the noise level was very good, and easy to have casual conversations. A nice visit and a place I would enjoy coming back to.

I chose the brunch sandwich which comes on a homemade rosemary biscuit and it was fantastic! My mom said her tuna salad sandwich was the BEST SHE'S EVER HAD!!! My only negative is that our food took a very long time to come out. Although, it was definitely worth the wait!

We recently stopped by Interurban Coffeehouse for coffee and lunch…read more They have a bakery case full of goodies, loaves of fresh baked bread for purchase, and a small but might lunch menu. Their coffee menu is robust and includes seasonal specialties as well as the standard. For my coffee, I got the seasonal (for autumn) salted caramel latte. It was sweet (but not overly so) and delicious. For my lunch, I got their turkey pesto panini, which was absolutely delicious. They did not skimp on any of the ingredients with plenty of pesto, turkey, and provolone as well as a delicious layer of flavorful roma tomatoes. They have plenty of seating in their open and airy dining room. The service was lovely. It's a bit slower than some other coffee spots to get your coffee but it's a bit fancier as well. The only thing I'll note to give folks a heads up is the prices. They're definitely in line with your more artisanal coffee spots, which is to say: they're higher than a lot of coffee spots as well. My dining companion and I each got the turkey panini and a 16 oz latte and it was $50 after a modest tip. So, just something to be aware of. All in all--a delicious but maybe not daily spot! The interior is huge, allows for a variety of seating, including the patio, has a butcher next door and provides both pastries and coffee at this location. The cases were filled to the brim with beautiful pastries of all kinds - both savory and sweet - handmade and absolutely delicious! We opted for a box of 6 pastries, ranging in taste and size, and my Honey Almond latte and I was in literal heaven. The pastries are HUGE and we happily split with family. The coffee was a little sweet but hit the spot! Although it's a little pricy, it's worth every single penny for the thoughtful service and quality of ingredients/items! YUMMMM!

I think in my last review I had gotten the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel and mentioned it was pretty basic (your order was pretty basic, you may have shouted at the screen--you're not wrong, gentle reader). Since then I've grown, I've taken responsibility for my uninspired ordering and can now confidently say--they have some of the best coffee shop breakfast bites around. What should you order? Their strawberry avocado toast. Strawberries on avocado? I'm unsure, you may be muttering. Please do yourself a favor, stop muttering, and just order the dang toast. It's goat cheese sprinkled, balsamic reduction drizzled, and quite simply some of the best avocado toast I've had the pleasure of consuming. What else? The baked oatmeal with berries. Warm, comforting, and adorned with fresh berries--it's the stuff winter dreams are made of. I love during the holidays they have some fun holiday lattes (s/o to the jingle bells latte) and I've also recently ordered and enjoyed their tangerine mocha (citrus-y delight!). The service is always above-and-beyond lovely. And, dining/seating area is clean and comfortable. Get to it!

We came on a Sunday before they officially started serving breakfast and just had pastries available, but we were getting together with some friends for our monthly coffee date and didn't need a whole meal necessarily. The selection was a bit more limited than I would have expected from a boulangerie, but the cinnamon roll was very good (probably would have been better if it had been warmed up but that was not offered). And the cookies that we brought home (chocolate chip and gingersnap) were also very good. I also tried a bite of my husband's quiche and it was very good--definitely made in-house! The almond croissant had a generous amount of almond paste in it, and was quite sizable, too.

Large front windows let in plenty of natural light, making the space feel open and bright. We arrived right around noon, just as the lunch crowd was filling in. There was a short line that moved quickly. Service was friendly and helpful while we placed our order. We decided on the Brie Salad and the Avocado Toast, along with a Lemonade and a London Fog Tea Latte. I gave them my special instructions for the latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla, extra foam, in a mug), and they were happy to make it exactly as requested. Orders come with a number, and the staff delivers your food right to your table. The wait was short before our food arrived, and the entire meal was excellent. My Avocado Toast was a treat -- layered with toast, cream cheese (yes, cream cheese!), avocado, and feta on top. It was so good as is, but next time I'll ask if they can add a poached egg on top -- that would make it even more amazing. A great first-time experience here. I'd definitely come back for breakfast (or maybe try another lunch).
