Friends does make a decent meal. It's technically the nicest food in Pinner, but it's just not all that exciting. There's a set menu for lunchtime that's excellent value, but I often find it hard to see anything that I really want to have. I do like the prix fix menu, but as it's double the price of the lunch menu, it's a bit of a bitter pill.
I've had dinner here a few times and again, the food is nice - not huge portions, but in line with similar-style restaurants.
The biggest problem is that the clientele averages around 60 years old. So it's a bit self-perpetuating - the food is aimed at that age, and so more of that age group comes, so it all stays the same - and with the exception of when the weekly menu has something that sounds particularly tasty, it just isn't a place that works for me.
It's worth trying out on the 3 courses for £15, as it might actually be just what you're looking for! You won't be disappointed, but you might be underwhelmed. read more
