One of the great things about the South End is it's diversity. Don Quijote is a tribute to that…read more This Spanish food market has the little items that you can't find in "American" supermarkets that are essential for creating Latin food. What's great about this place is that when you walk in you can see that it's not the usual grocery store where you buy your things and leave. Locals, especially Spanish speaking ones seem to hang around and chat about with the people that work there. It has a real family atmosphere to it. You'll find a good mix of Latin products along with everyday "American" food given the store's size. My one gripe which is keeping me from adding another star is their lack of tortillas. As a staple of Latin food I would expect a wide variety of them. For those not accustomed to cookie Latin food you can even find prem-made Taco Bell kits. I'm not sure if that is something for the store to be proud of, but hey...it works.

It's clean, everything is extremely well stocked, and you can find a fair selection of snacks and beverages. Hot Fries? Of course. Cherry Coke Zero? You got it. Canned sodas from NBA All-Star Shaquille O'Neill? Surprisingly, yes. Aside from actually feeling like a store, and not a mini-warehouse of forgotten comestibles (yeah, I'm looking at you other convenience store down the block), it's got that extra something special -- the staff is super friendly. Not that I'm looking to formulate any long-lasting friendships, but it's nice to know I can buy my Slim Jims from a smiling face. And that smile bumps it from a four to a five.

It was more of an egg omelet cooked with some crab rather than a lump of mostly crab meat, but it was soft, savory, and delicious. The kimbap was also delicious and was restaurant quality for less than restaurant prices. Unlike the Central Square location, this HMart does not have a Paris Baguette inside or a seating area in the front, so you'll need to take your grab-and-go items somewhere else to eat. The variety of items was about the same though, with premade korean foods, premade sushi and sashimi, and many aisles of Asian frozen foods, produce, and packaged foods. I would definitely come back here again!

This HMart is situated right on the same strip as Gyu-Kaku & Kyuramen + walking distance to the new bustling Asian restaurants on Beacon St... great addition to Brookline ;)) I'd say this is one of the smaller Hmarts I've been to, might even go as far as to say smallest? It's smaller than the one in Cambridge with only about 4-5 aisles & smaller selection of fruits, vegetables, meats, & seafood but they do a good job with carrying most stuff you'd find at your typical HMart. In the front of the store, they offer baked sweet potatoes, which I always thought that was cool. Usually never see that at the other locations. Only downside to HMart Brookline that I've found is that they don't have a food hall/court area like Cambridge/Quincy/Burlington but then again, there's so many yummy restaurants around haha. Parking: I don't believe there's a parking lot that is just for customers. There is plenty of street parking though!
