Been going to Friels Barber Shop for a couple of months now. My barber is Geoff Fifield. The man is an artist. An average person has around 100,000 hairs on their head. Geoff seems compelled to make sure every single one is in its proper place. I cannot recommend this establishment enough. Every single haircut I have seen performed there, without exception, looks phenomenal. It doesn't matter whether you are a 47-year-old man fighting follicular decline like myself, or a 6-year-old who cannot decide which chair cloth he likes best. The Spider Man one is by far the best choice, but most of the kids pick fishies. Their decision baffles me. This shouldn't be called a barber shop. It is a Transformation Center. Go there. Now. my brother had the most horrible experience there. We made an appointment and they said that we didn't have one. Cursed at us and threatened to call 911. would give 0 stars if I could my mom went with my brother and she has an accent, and they were so cruel to her, and laughing at her! they keep deleting bad reviews and getting their friends and family to give good reviews but I hope word gets out on how terrible and unprofessional they are! read more

Very nice little barber shop nestled in between Heavenly Haven and Blend Bar on route 33. Smaller shop that had three chairs working when I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Two people were waiting ahead of me, but they were waiting for particular barbers, so I was able to walk right in and into Rachel's capable hands. She was both very good and very friendly, and had me out the door looking clean and fresh in under fifteen minutes. They have a sign on the register requesting cash if possible due to rising merchant fees, understandable, especially for a small business such as this. Unfortunately I didn't see it until I was paying, but my debit card was accepted without complaint. I'll know for next time. All in all, a solid shop. I'll be back. read more

I've been to many places in the Mercer County area, from chains to boutiques, and this place is by far the best. Consistent regardless of stylist, clean, and a great staff. I won't go anywhere else. Men's regular cut is $17-18... which is the going rate around the area. Closed on Sundays so a bit inconvenient since most people work during the week. That makes Saturdays a busy day but they have 4-6+ stylists so it's not a huge wait. read more

I was recommended to Joe for my new beard. I was happy to see a pro police atmospher! Then after waiting 15 minutes with no help. A young lady asked why I didn't book online instead of just walking in ? Iclike to see where I'm going call me old fashioned. She had a negative vibe and never even said hello. First of all, this is a veteran owned business. So I had to try it because I always support veteran owned. After making an appt i went back the next day. Upon arrival I was greeted by a guy named Joe. Later on i found out he is the owner. Had awesome conversation with Joe. His staff is pretty awesome too. Best barbershop around! We have been going to Friel's since they opened and love the way they cut our boy's hair! They have definitely had to change the way they do business due to Covid and they have gone above and beyond to kept everyone safe and healthy. Can't understand the review from Vinny! If your late your late. Why on earth would you think that in an era where you no longer just walk in to get a hair cut that a business will be able to take you when they have other appointments scheduled after yours. Hairdressers and barbers work hard to accommodate everyone the best they can but if you can't respect their time go buy a Flow-bee and cut your own damn hair! Don't blame a barber who had their business shut down for months and now has to follow strict guidelines in order to earn a living and serve the community safely! We have known Joe for years and if he could accommodate you he would. Absolutely the best! We brought our 3 year old twins and this was by far the best experience ever! They were both taken at the same time and their cuts were both identical, like I asked! I got my haircut by the owner, Joe who is a really chill dude and his attention to detail on my fade haircut and trim lineup of my beard Was very much appreciated and done with such precision. I was getting my haircut because my weekend is filled of a wedding, housewarming party, and other family events I wanted to make sure that I looked good this weekend but thanks to Joe I look and feel great! Joe has a great staff that's very entertaining and just one of those barbershops where you can turn off any distractions you have in the outside world and get a solid haircut while having good conversation. Talk about a one stop shop for all your barber needs, this is the place to go! Great atmosphere, all staff are super friendly and CONSISTENT when cutting hair. The owner of the shop is fabulous, very personable, friendly and fantastic with children! I go to Friel's two times a month and satisfied every time I leave regardless off who cuts my hair. Professional AMATEURS!! Went in as a first time walk in. Told the barber Jeff that I no longer wanted my hair to be short on sides and long on top (which I got from another place). I clearly said, I want him to just blend the top into the sides. That simple. After saying ok, he immediately proceeded to use a #2 buzz on the back of my neck. When I asked him what he was doing, he said he's just using it there (which made no sense). Then he said "you want a buzz cut"? I said of course not. Just use the 3 1/2 razor all around. Then he proceeded to use scissors all around leaving the top munch longer than the sides which I specifically told h I wanted corrected. I repeated to use the 3 1/2 all around and he then said, oh, that would have been easier. The result was wasted money, wasted time getting the same haircut I told him I didn't want. I'll will never go back nor recommend anyone. Either it was his first day on the job or he was just plain ignorant. read more
