This was always a fun barber shop to visit and get haircuts at. Especially when they'd send out coupons in the mail which made the haircuts better priced. Not only that but all the barbers here do a fantastic job giving the haircut you'd want and there is plenty of stuff to do if you're bored in the waiting area. There is also plenty of stuff for kids too so they're not bored while they wait for their haircuts and the variety of kids chairs was really nice too so your child can have fun using their imagination. read more

As a mom of a young boy, one of my favorite things is getting him cute haircuts. However I do not appreciate when the barber's station is messy and when they use clippers that have hair on them from the previous client, without cleaning or disinfecting them first. I talked to Sarah about my cleanliness requirements and she was so respectful of my needs. First of all when we walked into 33's we saw toys galore. My son played and got comfortable in the environment. Then Sarah, who is also one of the managers, asked him which vehicle he'd like to ride in. She talked to him kindly and was really great with him (he doesn't love to sit still!) and she allowed him to bring a big toy up with him while he got his hair cut. Sarah told me that the barbers are really experienced with kids with special sensory needs. I could see she was patient all while doing a professional job. I even saw one dad with a young boy come and get his own hair cut while his child played with the toys! It was enough to keep him busy while the the dad had his haircut!! We were very happy with the haircut and we will be back for the next cut!! read more

It confuses folks who need a last minute cut and come at 6:45 only to get turned away. This place is AMAZING! My family and I just moved here. Couple weeks ago and decided it was time to find a new barber shop for our 3 year old son . I am very picky on my sons hair cut ! From the second I pulled up I was greeted by the owners and their granddaughter and was immediately welcomed (they were wearing costumes outside by the road getting attention from drivers) I walked in and my son was OBSESSED with the set up . They had trains , a giant school bus jungle gym and so many vehicle chairs to sit in during the hair cut . His hairdresser was so kind and patient with him and even sprayed the tips of his fohawk red and pink ! Very kind people and will never go anywhere else but there ! 10/10 for me ! read more

He happened to be in Hamilton w me & so he google searched barbers nearby. 33 was one of the first results to show up & there's a 4.5~/5 star rating on this place & that led us to believe that it was a relatively good place! The wait wasn't long at all - probably about 10 minutes which was nice since a lot of the other barber shops were either closed or packed today. He goes in after the wait time & comes out 15 minutes later. He looks like a wet rat. He asked for her to not touch the front & cut the back. She does the exact opposite. His part/hairline was whack. I take my two young sons here for their hair cuts all the time. They are very good with kids haircuts although they do cut men's hair as well. My kids, and admittedly I too, love the train table and the school bus play area for waiting for the siblings hair to get cut or just waiting for their turn. They haven't had a bad haircut yet from here. All around enjoyable experience. I think it also had to be noted that not only do they have a play area and train table but multitudes of other toys and games, as well as a TV and fish tank. read more

These guys are my go to Barber Shop in Hamilton. Always get a good cut there, lots of chairs, kid friendly (they even have video games, toys, and themed barber chairs for them) but not overwhelming. Look, there are plenty of barbers around where you can get a good cut, but these guts give back a TON to the local community. They do fund raisers/donate time money and services to local charities, host blood drives on site, etc. Head in there, you'll get a good cut at a good price and will be supporting a great local business. read more

This place is great! Lots of great fun chairs for the kids to choose from and the staff are all really nice. Carla cut our 2 year olds hair and she was fantastic. She as quick and able to keep up with our girl looking all around. Afterwards they didn't shoo us out and let her play on the other chairs as well as with all the other toys they have in there. I can't say enough good things about this business and Ed! My husband and I brought our one-year-old in for his first haircut and he was instantly intrigued by the train set. He didn't get a chance to play this time because there was no wait! Ed got him in the chair, which my son wasn't a fan of because he loves to run around. Although my son let his displeasure of being strapped in the chair known by yelling and trying to escape, Ed was so incredibly patient and extremely careful as my son moved around. Between the friendliness of the staff, the fun atmosphere for kids, and the super reasonable price, I couldn't have asked for a better first haircut experience. Was looking for "The Barber Shop" in Hamilton and mistakenly went into 33's Barber Shop. Definitely not a place to get a men's haircut. My own fault as I should have walked out seeing all the kid's décor around the place. Quick horrible cut for $16 + $4 tip. Maybe they do better for kid's cuts. Like one reviewer said, more misses than hits for the staff haircutters. May need another haircut elsewhere to clean up the cut I got here. read more

Perfect experience getting our 14 month old's first haircut! No wait on a Saturday afternoon. As soon as we walked in we were pleasantly greeted. They took the baby right to the chair and started singing and bringing him toys. We told them what we wanted and after about 15 minutes and a bunch of songs, they were done. They bagged the hair without us asking. They have video games, toys and theme barber chairs like cars and such. The parking lot is somewhat small but we were fine. DO NOT GET A HAIRCUT HERE IF YOU WANT TO LOOK DECENT. LIZ IS NOT A TRAINED HAIRCUTTER. LIZ gave such a bad experience from the moment I displayed the haircut I wanted, all the way down to talking to other workers across the room while butchering my hair into what looks like chunks of hair loss and sadness. The moment I showed her the style I wanted, she stuck her nose up without looking & said " I see those everywhere, I know what you're talking about". I asked for short on the sides and long on top... She cut everything down to where it looks like a five year old took to my head with scissors. It's like she decided my head will look like what we she felt like that day. I'm not being dramatic. When she pulled the mirror in front of me there was a six inch long strand left hanging in front of my face.. with no other hair around it...NOT to mention I called & booked ahead of time. When I got there I waited for the younger barber With crazy dyed hair.. However when the next walk in came in she decided to hand me off to LIZ and make me wait longer... Not sure if she was worried about dealing with a younger guy.. but why would you openly decline taking me when I was booked & waiting... this place is crap. Where is my Spanish lady at!? read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The women cutting my fathers hair was absolutely rude. Had the worst attitude I've ever experienced and after asking her why she was being so rude and to please not be after asking a question she acted even worse and cut my fathers hair roughly. I have tried this barbershop many times, and should've learned my lesson. Out of the 7 times I have tried this place (yeah, I gave them way too many chances) only one of those haircuts was satisfactory. It seems as though they hire young kids straight out of high school who have no training whatsoever. I had people try to use scissors on my hair as opposed to clippers, and they left my head looking like a pile of grass clippings (uneven and unkempt). Also, normal to long length means something completely different in this place, as everytime I was asked the length I desired, my request was interpreted as one step up from a buzz cut. The worst cut I got ended with the young lady asking if I would like her to use the straight razor to clean the back of my neck. I agreed and not only did she leave the back of my head extremely uneven and sloppy, while ringing me up for the chop-job she did on my head, she told the owner how horrible she was with the straight razor, and how she is going to practice on a family member. WTF?!?!? Why would she even offer to use the thing if she doesn't know how?!? If I worked at a car detailing shop, and had no idea how to use the buffer, I would either learn before I got the job, trained before using it on a customers car, or DON'T OFFER TO WAX SOMEONE'S CAR!!! I'm lucky she didn't leave a permanent battle scar on the back of my neck. Anyway, you can get a better cut from Supercuts or Great Clips (still not a good haircut by any means) and probably pay the same amount. read more

I am a women with a short cut ans its truly hard to find any salon that can even cut it-but Liz is a truly a gifted barber and I get 100 compliments a day about my hair cut!!! We took our rambunctious two year old here for a haircut..It wildly exceeded our expectations! As soon as we walked up, our son was greeted enthusiastically by the entire staff. The play area for kids was awesome. Dave was engaging and really knew how to distract and entertain so our son barely knew he was getting his hair cut! He immediately put our son (and myself!) at ease. His hair was done quickly and efficiently, and looks great. This is the place to take squirmy kids! Ed is the owner and his wife gives a very nice cut. Everyone else is hit or miss with more misses than hits. The young girls he hires just don't seem to know what they are doing. It's ok for kids' cuts and they seem to cater to that, although I regularly hear the younger barbers complain about having to do the kids. This place is where you want to go if you have a toddler. I take my 2 year old son here and the owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have a pretty impressive array of toys and a giant play school bus to keep him occupied if there is a wait (or to get him acclimated). I have Liz (one of the owners) cut his hair and she is quick and does a great job considering how squirmy and temperamental he can be. I also had her trim/cut my bangs while we waited for him to get comfortable and I was very happy with the job she did. I usually go to a high price salon but with a toddler who knows when that next appointment would be. She did such a good job that I think she may be my new go-to for a quick trim. I've been going to 33's Barber Shop since they opened. Yes they cater to kids but there are far more men getting their haircut than kids. I go here because I get the same cut every time. I never wait for a specific barber. When I'm up I take who ever is free and have never been disappointed! That's why I gave them 5 stars! It's very rare that you find a place where everyone is trained the same. I recommend you give them a try. read more
