I strongly do not recommend Fridge Worx based on my recent experience.
In early August, I had my dryer vent cleaned by another company. The cleaning was done from the roof vent opening, and during the process the technician lost control of the cleaning brush at the end of the whip line, causing it to become jammed inside the dryer portion of my LG WashTower. The technician was eventually able to remove the line and brush, but immediately afterward the dryer developed a vibration and rattle that had never been there before. Something was clearly damaged or out of balance.
The vent cleaning company told me they use Fridge Worx to troubleshoot situations like this and identified a specific Fridge Worx technician. That technician came to my house and properly accessed the interior of the dryer. He spent time inspecting the dryer, then went out to his vehicle and appeared to call the individual who had contracted him from the vent cleaning company.
When he came back inside, he told me he could not find any damage or anything caused by the cleaning. He said the vent cleaning company had agreed to pay the diagnostic fee, but that no components were broken and everything was secure and tight. He then told me it was likely the motor and offered to replace it. In hindsight, that diagnosis was not just disappointing--it was completely wrong.
At first I declined, but I later changed my mind and called Fridge Worx to have the motor replaced based on their recommendation. I was told that would be handled. After several days with no update, I called again and was told the work order had been closed. I explained that I had called to move forward with replacing the motor, and was then told the motor was on order. More days passed, and when I called again, I was told there was no order for the motor. After another follow-up call about a week later, I was told they would check with the technician and call me back. They never did.
I eventually contacted LG directly. My unit qualified for LG's flat-rate service, which uses OEM parts. The LG factory technician found the actual problem in about five minutes: a broken blower fan wheel. The damage was obvious. The replacement corrected the problem. No more rattle. No more imbalance.
That raises serious concerns about Fridge Worx's diagnostic work, the recommendation to replace an apparently unnecessary motor, and their failure to follow through or communicate afterward. This experience cost me time, created unnecessary frustration, and did not come close to the level of competence or customer service I would expect. Based on this experience, I would not trust Fridge Worx with appliance diagnosis or repair, and I cannot recommend them. read more
