Can I just start off by saying how delicious the food is here! Frida Chilaquiles is a restaurante with a variety of options in their menu and of course who specializes in Chilaquiles. The wait time was not long and quickly accommodated my party of 6. Staff are friendly and very happy, from what I saw. The ambiance is casual and neat. The food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I ordered the Chilaquiles "Divorceados" and was in for a surprise. The combination of both of Chilaquiles was yummy and the food was cooked well. The dish also had both pinto and black beans and were seasoned just right. The Agua Fresca se Pepino con Limon was tasty and fresh too. My overall experience was new and loved it. Very folkloric place! There is no A\C but despite that the place is worthy to visit and eat. Kids friendly they get crayons and make drawings that will end up in a wall as decor for the place. Just wow! The food impeccable! Bottom is El Regio. Top is El Divorcio. The café de olla meaning coffee from the kettle is amazing! You don't even need cream or sugar! The aguas are refreshing. We absolutely love this place! Every time we come to Monterey we have to have breakfast here! The chilaquiles are so good and they have a variety of ways to eat them. For example with papas con chorizo, pollo, barbacoa and many more choices! They also have for children little tacos of egg or papa con chorizo. An long list of aguas frescas and the café de olla in town! I would highly recommend this place! The only down fall is that there is no AC but it's ok they have many fans to keep you comfortable! read more

They offer great food for cheap prices. The environment is completely casual and the waiters are usually very friendly. Excellent place for a Mexican experience. On a Saturday morning my friends and I got there to check out the place. I will get rid of the down side first which isn't that bad unless you are really impatient. We had to wait around 25 or 30 minutes to be seated, but the food was worth the wait so I would recommend to do a reservation before arriving there if possible. However if you don't feel like eating inside, there is the take out option. The food was amazing (El Regio is the name of the plate I got), service was fast and friendly, I totally recommend trying this place out. read more

Food ok, over priced. We ate here twice while in Monterrey. First time was good, second time they misled us with their birthday breakfast meals. First the water said we had to have passports for the 3 girls and I had to go all the way to the car and dog through the luggage only to come back and he said we could only do one. One had hers so I did all that for nothing. The agua frescos are a hit or miss. Ordered 3 himica and one was good, second ok and the last one was so disgusting I couldn't drink it. When I told the waiter he did Nothing and I had to pay. Would never go back here. They just get you bc it's a nice sit down place where they expect you to sit for 3 hours and chat. Best breakfast chilaquiles in town. They take a diverse approach to a classic dish with a variety of choices, well served and priced. Careful if you don't eat spicy, but a most try for breakfast/brunch along with a café de olla. Service and ambiance are also great, the only drawback is finding a parking space nearby. read more

Place I would say it's average!!! Nothing to go bananas for, place is out in the open and does not have air conditioners, so that makes it a challenge. Food options are okay .... but the flavors are not quite there for great chilaquiles!!! The food was delicious. I had the chilaquiles with mexican sour cream, cotija cheese and refried beans, topped with an egg (over easy). The place is very colorful, cute decorations, and the wait was less than 10 minutes. They also have a designated area for people with pets, which is awesome if you're not the type who likes to sit next to pets. I do have some complaints about the STAFF. My boyfriend and I asked if they have WIFI, they said yes, but 3 of their staff members failed to bring us the password the 3 different times we asked. Also, the waiter who took our order mentioned he needed to take our order immediately because the food was going to take a long time to make since they were "very busy". Our food was at our table no more then 5-7 minutes later after we ordered. We also sat next to a table with 2 couples that were "locals", and I guess you can tell we were not locals. One of the waiters came by and took our napkin holder, that wasn't empty, thinking we wouldn't notice but we did. He said "I'll bring this right back", which he did, BUT, he brought us napkins inside a plastic cup and gave the napkin holder we had to the "locals" next to us. It sounds like no big deal, yet I'm sure the place has extra napkin holders. Secondly, when I ordered another cup of "Cafe de la Olla, "Coffee", the waitress replied to me " We do not serve/have refills" in a very rude tone. I told her I didn't ask for a refill, I asked for another cup. As I mentioned, the food was great and the fact that we were served right away was also a big plus. But for them to stereo type or label us was so uncalled for and this should be brought to someone's attention. read more
