I went to Friar Tuck specifically because I read they carry Mighty Kind Seltzer. I did a quick walk through the back of the store and found the seltzers on an end cap. I chose the Heady Lemon flavor. I picked up a 4 pack and headed to check out. I was in an out in just a couple of minutes. I can't really comment on service because I didn't receive any but the store is neat, clean, and well stocked. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

I'm sorry that is not %20 plus the extra tax I paid on the $26 more they charged the first time around. Should have been like $28. Also everything else is overpriced anyway. I would rate this store between a 3 and a 4 so I gave 4 stars. Stopped in when I was visiting the area. On my visit my goal was to try different Missouri craft beer and I was happy at the selection. Staff at the checkout were pleasant. They had a decent sized wine area, but I didn't purchase any on this visit. Negatives for me: Cardboard thrown all over the store. Yes, I get it they want customers to use the empty trays and boxes to go, but there was a mess about it. Also, signage seemed to be missing from some of the beer so couldn't necessarily see the price. No cart corrals outside. read more

This is an adult candy store. Every time I come here I am amazed at the selections offered. We like that they have an extensive selection of locally produced beverages and the national and global varieties are here as well. Beer to wine to mixers and other supplies to make entertaining or enjoying a quiet evening at home are here. Saturday afternoons they have a tasting area set up and they occasionally have the suppliers in to offer tastings as well. The staff is always helpful and somehow can tell you were to find that obscure item that you can't find is on the shelf. After a recent trip I found a gin that I liked and it wasn't stocked here, when I asked, they happily put it in the list and took my name and number to let me know if they can get some ordered in for me. I was spoiled having previously been a customer of the crestwood location, however this location looks like a tornado came through and no one could care less. Order? What kind of order are thing in here? There is no order, it's total anarchy. If you want beer from England, Germany or Belgium is it label in any way, shape or form? No. Its madness. If you want to get a 6 pack for leisurely Friday night, then just wander till you find what tickles your fancy. You'll find it. I've had good experiences, but someone working the morning shift on June 10th around 10:30 AM (today) has an extreme ego issue. My little sister turned 21, and wanted to go make her first alcohol purchase. The cashier took her ID, and asked to confirm her address. Understandable, right? But, then he asked for her to say the first letter of her DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER. Not only did he ask that, but he proceeded to be a douche about it, saying "you better be prepared for people to ask you that," and "you better study up on your license." I can promise you no one ever asks you the first letter of your drivers license number. Even the people behind her gasped and couldn't believe it. Like, dude, I don't mean to be a Karen because I'm literally 23, but my god, you work the morning shift at a liquor store. This place was amazing. All your alcohol needs can be met here. I went in for some wine I can't get in my area and sure enough they had it. I was thrilled. They also have a multitude of mini bottles to buy if you're just wanting to try something before purchasing a full bottle. They are up front near the checkouts. They have a large selection but their prices seem high. If you have 5 Targets and Walmarts within 2 miles selling Jack at under $20 a bottle, you need to at least match that. What I really don't like is their service. Slow lines, Sales people standing around or stocking as I stand in line. One particular person is so disinterested and downright surly. One woman in front of me mentioned how she doesn't like the way they ask for your date of birth instead of just looking at it on your ID. Makes me uncomfortable, she said. Some people are funny about their age, you know? It is odd. We really don't go here accept to sample once in awhile. I tried to purchase a bottle of CALUMET FARM - BOURBON (750ML) for $42.99 using a coupon that they sent in their flyer of $5 off. They explained to me that they couldn't do it because their markup is only 7% and that someone must have put the wrong price on the shelf tag. Their website even has it for $42.99, so I know that isn't true. The cashier thought there was an error with the system and sent me to someone else. He rung it up and walked off to get the store manager. The store manager said that there is nothing that they can do. Coupon restrictions only state $30 or more, excludes 1.75 L spirits and win prices ending in .89. How is me wasting over 20 minutes of my time not worth giving the customer the $5 off on the coupon that was being tried to use that was sent to me in a flyer? read more

I'm not exactly an alcohol enthusiast. I am not constantly seeking the perfect bottle or can of anything. I went to Friar Tuck in December seeking out locally-made sparkling grape juice as presents for some minors in the family. I was looking for something made by one of the local wineries without having to drive all the way out to the Stone Hill Outlet or out to Montelle. Friar Tuck had one sparkling apple cider, but it wasn't from a local winery, so I didn't buy it. They did, however, have pretty much everything else. I went to the checkout with one thing and bought a few little bottles of this and that as I waited. The service was very nice, and also quick. Don't buy any wine here, I haven't found a decent bottle yet. I'll be going to Lucas Liquor in Ballwin for all wine but they do have a decent selection of liquor otherwise. Prices are fine but not cheap. Staff are weird, never around, and not helpful at all. Edit: I think they have too bright of lighting because MULTIPLE bottles of red wine have been oxidized. Upon visiting this place, I thought it was pretty cool. However, the employees were so busy mixing and drinking the alcohol in the store they weren't very helpful. At first, I thought maybe they offered sample tastings like many other places. I asked them 3 times what drink they were tasting and was ignored 2 of the 3 times until I basically demanded an answer. They were so busy talking to each other about how great this "root beer float" concoction was (and how one of them was an actual bartender) that they would barely answer our questions. I later asked how much something costs because it wasn't marked and was answered with "I don't know". The prices were more expensive (for the same product) here than other places in the area, so I expected better service. I understand places mixing drinks as samples to guests, but when guests aren't offered a sample while the employees are drinking LARGE (not sample size) glasses of the inventory and ignoring guests, something seems a bit off. I felt like I had entered a locker room of bros, not a store. This visit was March 18th, 2022 (around 8:30 pm). One employee tried NOT to take the alcohol beverage because he claimed he didn't like root beer but the others pressured him and pressured him to drink with them. They were yelling across the store, "Come ON. We already poured it!!" Until he finally complied and went to drink with them. Is this company policy? It was extremely unprofessional and to be honest, it was annoying. I assume there are cameras in the store, so this must be company policy. I really don't care if people drink, but don't treat customers like they don't matter. We are the ones paying for the free drinks you are consuming on the job! read more

After a pair of trips to Friar Tuck I have found my liquor and beer shopping center! A huge selection of liquors, wines, beers, and a few things in between makes this the go to place this side of the Missouri River. My highlights so far, the build your own 6-pack wall features some great options both familiar and not so much. I have found a few gems for sure! Another trip resulted in a great gift for my boss for the holidays. Pricing here is competitive, with some great deals to be had. However, the best feature of this place is the service. Very helpful and knowledgable employees roam the aisles offering assistance, with plenty of directed questions to help you figure out just what you want. You don't have to know your liquor to shop here, they will gather some intel in just a few questions and have suggestions for you in no time! read more

They have pretty much anything and everything you could want. Found the Irish whisky, Scotch, and Kirsch I had been looking for. I also happened to see a bottle of Absinthe that I finally broke down and tried. They have a great beer selection both domestic and import. Staff are friendly and helpful. Do not recommend. Visited today with my spouse. While inside, the worker, came to me during checkout to ask if I was driving a black vehicle. I said yes, and asked why. I was told my vehicle was parked in a fire lane, which is false. On my way out, I specifically looked at the markings to see if that was true. There is not marked emergency parking in front of this building. During checkout, I asked if there was a problem, the person who checked me out was very kind (and honestly seemed embarrassed by the behavior of her co-worker) and stated it was ok, so I continued on and paid. As I left and got into my vehicle, we did honk as we were driving away, and a long haired blonde employee came out and said to get the "fuck out of here" as we were driving away. Meanwhile the larger gentlemen who started the incident flipped us off through the window and laughed. We have been going to Friar Tucks for several years and have never had anything near this experience. Prior to this, we have had positive experiences at Friar Tucks. I know there is difficultly hiring right now, but it seems that they are scraping the bottle of the barrel. We will not return based on this one disturbing experience. I have been a customer of Friar Tucks O'Fallon for several years. I will now be taking my business elsewhere. Today I Attempted to exchange an expensive bottle of whiskey, that was given to me as a Christmas gift. Being a gift, I did not receive the receipt. I did not want a refund, just an exchange for a different liquor. I would have likely even spent more money. But I was turned down by the store manager, due to not having the receipt. Feed up with this place! A couple of weeks ago I called to see if they had a keg of Bud Select. After being on hold for 12 min I decided to drive there since I live close. I walk in still on hold and the young lady said she'd forgotten I was holding. Of course a keg wasn't available! Then today I stop by to buy a high end bottle of bourbon . They don't have it in stock but it was expected within the hour. So I go back to the store 5 hours later and am told that it didn't come in on the truck! They have a huge selection of craft beers, wine and liquor, as it is basically the size of a grocery store, but stocked only with alcohol. That being said, pay attention to the dates on that obscure beer that you pick up, because, with so many options, sometimes stock can sit on the shelf for a while. I had the misfortune of attending Friar Tuck's Irish Whiskey tasting today. This was advertised in one of their flyers. The picture in the flyer had numerous different bottles of Irish Whiskey. I was excited because I collect different brands To my dismay I discovered they had only ONE BRAND to taste. The manager said they can't control what corporate puts in the flyer. So besides the fact that this place is HUGE and they have every imaginable drink your looking for, which can make it impossible to find, the help I got from Chris (long hair 80's looking dude) was AWESOME!! I would have been in that store for hours trying to locate every bottle of wine I wanted. He knew where everything was and I had a list of 13 different bottles I needed to get. I went there tonight to find a certain kind of beer. I asked the sales associate if they had Shafly barrel aged stout. The sales associate said I don't think we do that something that you would have to ask a manager or a distributor about. I then asked a woman behind the sales desk if she knew about it and if they had it in. She said that they didn't and wasn't aware of it. I was with my brother-in-law at the time he went over to the show and found one last bottle of it. I told the manager that we found a bottle and her response was "sometimes I'm wrong I guess, we have a lot of beer here and I'm not aware of everything."
