In June 2024, I went in for my third laser hair removal session on my legs. During the treatment, I experienced extreme pain but was reassured that it was normal. Instead, I suffered severe burns that took years to heal. I was later told the laser settings used during my treatment were incorrect for my skin. It's now July 2026, and while my legs have healed significantly, I'm still left with permanent scarring. The burns were incredibly painful, and the emotional impact has been just as difficult. At the time, I was working as a TV meteorologist, and the scarring had a major impact on my confidence, both on and off camera. Solo Skin Studio did provide me with a full refund and offered additional treatments to address the scarring, but I no longer felt comfortable continuing treatment there. I'm not sharing this to be malicious--I simply want others to be aware of my experience so they can make an informed decision. Afrouz is amazing, she is the Microblending Goddess, she talks through the process explaining each detailed step. First opens a brand new blade to use on me, after we decided on a color she applied numbing gel, kind of like dentists do before a root canal so you don't feel any pain. The first round is a bit uncomfortable if you have sensitive skin but round two can put you to sleep as she micro blends away! I love what shes done, makes me feel better about myself, her pricing is perfect, if i add up the number of eyebrow liners I've used and the time I've put into penciling my eyebrows in and the frustration I went through, OMG! Omg. So I had no Brow lol! And I had my aunt from Fresno Ca told me about Afrouz. I looked her on on Fb and yelp and even Instagram &was scanning thru the pics. I like the before and after pictures and and really enjoyed looking at her pics. I've been wanting to get my brows Microbladed for a while now, so I didn't hesitate to give Afrouz a call. I am so happy with Afrouz from Fresno Permanent Makeup and my new eyebrows. I went in with no eyebrows at all and at the end of the process I have beautiful brows that look natural and elegant. I originally had tattooed brows about four years ago and was worried that microblading wouldn't work, but it did and they came out perfectly. Afrouz is so sweet and caring. I previously had Microblading done about a year ago & wasn't very happy with the results but I figured it was already done & there was nothing I could do about it then I saw my mom got her Microblading done by Afrouz & It looked absolutely amazing. Afrouz did an amazing job microblading my sparse, over-tweezed eyebrows. She re-did the shape of my brows to better suit my face. Although eyebrows can be somewhat dark right after being microbladed they will lighten up during the healing process. Just had my four-week touch up done and can hardly wait to see the final results in about a month. A few years ago, I flew to NYC to have my eyebrows done because they sit on my face and I wanted…read morethe best of the best. It was a disaster. The healing experience was not pleasant. I had gigantic scabs and was left with two purple lines that faded to pink. After a year had passed, I went to see a microblader in Franklin who refused to cover up my brows. She said that they would first have to be lasered off, which comes with its own challenges. The plastic surgeon I saw said that there is no way to confirm the ingredients of the ink and warned that lasering my eyebrows might make them darker. He also mentioned a small risk of scarring. I decided that the risk wasn't worth it. I chose to live with pink brows ... until I found Olivia. Olivia Weir showcases her work on Instagram (oliviaweirsthings), and she is phenomenal. I've since talked to a surgeon and two facialists who have both confirmed that Olivia is one of two people in town they would recommend for microblading. She took one look at my jagged, pink brows and started working away like it was nothing. The process wasn't painful at all, which was so unlike my first experience in NYC. There is also no waiting around for numbing, she numbs as she goes. As far as healing, it was night and day from my first experience which was micropigmentation (using a tattoo gun) where microblading uses a blade. This alone made the process better (less scabbing), but Olivia also suggests a semi-wet healing process which is so much better than dry (what I did before). I was able to shower and wash my face and workout. It was heaven!!! In the end, I love my new brows so much. The first picture on the left is right after my first session, the second picture is healed, and the third is healed after my touch up. As I started with no eyebrows and we are covering up pink, I plan to go back for a third touch up as they are a little sparse in the middle, but I think most people will be able to get away with two sessions which is what is included in the initial fee. In general, the shape is great, the color is perfect, and there are hair strokes. They look so natural. I highly highly highly recommend Olivia. One final thought: When Olivia microblades, it is a very fast process. There isn't much of a consult which made me nervous. I stopped her after she had started and mentioned a couple of things that were important to me. She nodded her head and kept working. I thought for sure that she was ignoring me, but she totally took my input into consideration and did exactly what I had asked. Olivia has her own style and she sticks to that, but if there is something that is important to you, don't hesitate to mention it to her. It is your face after all!
