This grocery store has so many imported/exotic products! I saw frozen Pupusas from El Salvador, frozen Momos from India and ice cream from Lithuania! They also have items made in North America, but cater to ethnic communities. They have lots of ice cream in tropical flavours such as Soursop, Guava, etc. They have lots of Asian flavoured ice creams like red bean, matcha, etc. They have mochi and bubble tea ice cream bars too. I love browsing and looking at all their different imported items. As for regular mainstream North American groceries, their prices are cheaper than other chains like Loblaws and Metro. They are more in line with chains like No Frills and Food Basics. I would describe FreshCo as a discount grocery store. The produce isn't always fresh and it seems to be perpetually picked over. And sale items are often sold out. But other than that, it's pretty good. They have a points system, but it's a bit annoying. It's Scene+ and basically you don't get points on everything, just certain items for the week and Scene+ members can get discount prices for certain items for the week. This is not my favourite grocery store. It reminds me of a "No Frills" store (see https://www.nofrills.ca/) where you put a quarter in your basket to get it off the chain of baskets, and the store inside is really really basic. The impression is that they are passing the discounts on to the customer. And let's face it, you can get good prices at these kinds of stores. But I don't like the experience of shopping at Freshco's. It's not warm and welcoming; it's not pretty. Maybe it's the lighting? It feels sort of industrial to me. As a result, when we see something advertised at this store at a deep dish discount (like the turkeys were, at 0.88 cents a lb), I go in, do what I need, and get the heck out. Maybe this is just me, but grocery shopping is a bit of a chore, and that might reflect on my feeling about this shop. Aside from that, this mall is in a good location, with businesses and housing surrounding it, so you'd think it would do well. But it seems to me that the shops in this strip mall change a lot. I love shopping at Freshco as a whole for their amazing weekly deals and the fact that they also price match, which makes shopping easier because if they carry the item, I can just pick it up there instead of driving to multiple stores. It's a win-win for both as they get more money and I save time and gas. Their Dollar Sale days usually draw me in as most items are a really good price. It is even better if I have a coupon which I can also used on top of the sale. The stores I have been at are pretty clean. The atmosphere is typical grocery store. The reason I can't give a higher rating is because the Robertson Road location has really dropped the ball compared to the other locations I have been at. Most of the time they run out of the major flyer sale items that draw people in, even before the end of the first day of the flyer. The biggest issue to me is they only make it known to the customer once you make your way into the store, search for the area where they would have kept the item just to find a sign saying they are sold out. This is even with them having limits on how many people can buy. It is quite frustrating as those items are the main reason I go out of my way (there are multiple grocery stores closer to me) to go shopping there. It is not to say that they never have any stock of sale items, but if you're not lucky, you only get the typical smaller items like juice, yogurt, snacks and produce. The staff at this specific location are also not always the friendliest. Some of them can get pretty rude when you ask to price match something, that the price ringing up is incorrect or to use a coupon. When I used to work in retail, my manager would have reprimanded me for some of the attitude I've received from the staff at the Robertson location, especially when I haven't said more than: "Hi, how are you? Can I use this coupon?". I don't like asking to speak to a manger so I don't, but this along with not being able to pick up the main items I went for does make me want to go back less to this specific location. Freshco is a great place for good prices. The only issue that I have is when they have very good prices on things, this place never has them in stock. They also price match which can make this a one stop place to shop. The store is usually pretty crowded and I find that they just like to leave skids of product around that makes the little bit of space they have left blocked off. Don't forget your quarter too as you may end up without a shopping cart. read more

Worked here for over 3 years. Was treated with complete disrespect. Management talked about me to other cashiers and spreading rumors. Always telling me what I seemed to be doing "wrong" but never noticed or mentioned all the things I did to help or did right. I've suffered and still suffer a lot of mental issues because of this. They also had meetings with me about my own personal life outside of work, telling me who I can and can't talk to. They had a meeting with me about how they heard things about me which granted, were not true. And when I tried to explain the situation and explain to them that actually, someone made me feel uncomfortable, they basically told me it did not matter. I wouldn't have spent 3 years deteriorating on cash had they actually listened to me instead of telling me to "just forget it" everytime I went to talk about an issue I had. They told me not to listen to rumors. But anytime a rumor would be said about me they would bring me into the office and make me feel very bad about myself and then had me go back on cash while I was crying after the meeting would be done. And then my store manager called me a negative Nancy. I wouldn't have felt so negative had anyone actually cared about me, which one of my supervisors really did and I am still always forever grateful for her and love her for being there for me even after she left. Since the beginning when new management came I had many issues and management did not want to give me the time of day or cared about how I actually felt. The reason why I am writing this review is because while I was there I never had a voice and I find myself feeling sad and angry that I didn't stand up for myself before I left this summer. When I thought maybe I could go back and talked to the manager about it, he said many disrespectful things to me and made me remember why I left in the first place. I am disheartened but I also know that I have a better heart and can move on knowing the truth. read more

This supermarket is straightly facing toward to the entrance of the whole shopping area, so you won't miss it. As it is indicated by the store name, everything here are fresh and in good condition, in addition, the price is incredibly cheap, which is very close to the price of Food Basics, but the quality is almost on the top. Items are well organized, and price tags are large enough to attract you. I am wondering why can't I find this store on Apple Maps so I add this business on Yelp. As most reviews say, the prices here are reasonable. The atore demographic here is diverse, which I enjoy, as many unusual products are stocked. Also as many reviews state, I find that advertised sale items are often not available. This happened recently, and after two days of revisiting, I asked for a "rain cheque" but was refused. I spoke to the acting manager who said that there are no rain cheques of "in and out" products, only for "regular". The legal notice on the flyer and on the website do not mention "in and out" products, but by my experience, I must deduce that these are items ordered in very small quantities to enable an attractive price point to be displayed in the flyer. I was in the store at noon on the first day of the flyer and they were sold out. Is this deception? It certainly is contrary to their legal notices to refuse to honour the price contract. This means that a generally vulnerable population who cannot afford to fight a legal battle against two major corporations is being mistreated by this secret policy. It is shameful. read more

The advertised prices are good. However I question whether they order in any stock at the advertised prices as they are usually "all out" and don't provide rain checks. Don't ever count on getting the deals they advertised but if you live nearby and can visit often I suppose there is a chance you could get lucky. The ambience isn't good, and some staff are chronically disinterested and a bit cranky but there is one fellow in produce, Kris, who is stellar. read more

i stop for some shopping product in general not to bad but fruits and vegetables need improvement

My first time in there, I made a special trip out (past about 10 other grocery stores) there for a product in the flyer. They were out except for 1 flavor and "no they didn't have more" .. and "no they wouldn't give me a rain check" .. I guess they aren't selling yogurt after the end of today? Won't be back. read more

Some things can count on for being in stock but more often than not they never have things in flyer happens every time i go. Most staff except one, all seem to hate their jobs. 'Supervisor' with glasses and grey hair was the most miserable man ever and then after being rude for me being in his way ( i was waiting for a stockboy to check on again empty fridge ) he huffed and muttered under his breath . Then when the nice stock guy came out with a trolley of new boxes he was trying to find my item - the miserable supervisor came over and gave the kid evil eye as if " why you are wasting time with a CUSTOMER" ugh. Then he was over complaining with a female staff about an open box of eggos. I purposely went to him and told him " you should commend that employee for going beyond to help a customer he was incredibly helpful !" he just gruffed and kept talking to other staff girl. They all seem miserable and many of them complaining about customers and having to be stuck doing the dirty jobs of cleaning shelves or something . My gawd find greatful people who would appreciate day time shifts or put Mr Grumps -A-Lot on overnight stocking so he's not annoyed by the very people that keep him employed: the people that still shop there !
