So today Monday, February 17, 2020 I had phoned fresh thyme around 11:45 to inquire what time the rotisserie chickens would be ready at the time I was told at 11:40-ish they were just putting being put in the rotisserie oven and they would not be ready for pick up until at least 1:45 to 2 o'clock so then I ran some errands and then proceeded to make that my last stop around 2:10. so when I arrived at the store there were no chickens to be purchased I ask to speak to the store manager to inquire of how 25 chickens could be sold in a matter of 20 minutes she told me that they were I find it hard to believe that those chickens were even put in at the time that I called at 11:45 very disappointing. read more

I went to this store yesterday morning 9/15/2017. It reminds me of a Trader Joe's with Whole Foods prices. When I entered I was greeted by a number of employees. I only picked up a hand of items. It's not a bad place. My only issue was with the cashier, who happened to be an old African American lady. She didn't speak to me, but the Caucasian customer behind me she greeted as I was leaving. Don't know what that was really about. I work in customer service and I dare not speak to a particular customer for whatever reason. I don't think I will be coming back. read more

This place is great has the best customer service ever great produced and a fresh selection of meat products.

Great food selection, but the whole inside literally smells like poop. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with their drainage pipes but it smells like gross disgusting sewage. Also the fish doesn't specify if it's wild caught or farm raised. But the sewage smell is a horrible issue that you guys should address promptly. read more

I needed a close-by grocery store to grab some baked breakfast goods for a 7:30 meeting. The store says it opens at 7:00 am. I arrived at 6:58 with my 3 yr old in tow. The door was still locked and no one thought to check it or open it until 7:10. Anyone with toddlers knows that mornings are hard. While that 10 mins was certainly not the end of the world; the lack of apology or concern is where I take issue. This is an expensive store - and I love the products even though they're overpriced. When a grocery store has prices like that, the customer service should match. Trader Joe's in Oak Park = amazing customer service. Whole Foods in RF = amazing customer service. At fresh thyme there was literally no apology even when i asked what the problem with the door was. I'm disappointed. read more

Still working out kinks from opening. My prepared meal did not have a sticker on it with directions how to cook the eggplant rollups. I could not find the directions online so I called and was transferred to 5 people. The call took 16 minutes to answer my simple question. (375 for 45 minutes in case anyone needs directions) The opening was crowded but ran efficiently. The store has bone in skin on chicken breasts but they ran out so I purchased the last 3 packages. The produce was good and the prices are very competitive. The store looks like Sprouts from the West coast. This is a welcome addition to the north side of River Forest. We waited a long time for the store. read more

I would come here all the time if I lived in the area! Love the selection of healthier and natural food options. They have a good variety of Ezekiel products, not just the loaves of bread, which is usually hard to find. The prepared food I have tried has been very good as well. I also found the most amazing smelling bar of soap here. read more

Small but has all the essentials to prep a meal. Very clean and organized. Great customer service. My cashier Michael was really nice and help me redeem my coupon. He did not know how to redeem it but got quick assistance. As a local neighbor I look forward to shopping there. read more

Wholesome all-natural ingredients. Fresh produce. Good sales. Super friendly staff, especially the cashiers and the butcher counter. Only took away one star because they need more cashiers during the before dinner rush hour (and maybe a 10 items or less lane then too), and I've often had to wait a long time at the deli for assistance to take my order. It seems deli workers are also required to do other tasks that prevent them from seeing that a customer is waiting. Perhaps they could add a bell or something so we could let them know we are there. read more

This store is using false advertizing i have been here 4 or 5 times since it openned in the beggining they used ad paper to advertize sale items well it seems like everytime i go in there people have paper and there is no sale item. Shrimp advertized at 16/20 count for 3.99 lb then when you go in there they say there is a retraction on that item this sounds fishy they do it all the time who can control these people i wont go back again read more

This store has the worst salad bar ! It's never available before lunch , the store claims it is available at 9:00 am . The salad bar is full of soggy and old food that you can tell were from previous days. Their deli sandwiches are with thick very dry bread and tasteless, but higher in price than your local competitors. They lost me as a customer! read more

I absolutely love this store, it is Whole Foods without the high prices and it's Marianos without the crappy useless products. Fresh baked bread that you slice yourself, lots of vegan and healthy options. And the staff, the friendliest people work there. Please don't change a thing except for continued what you do and adding more healthy products and always more vegan options. read more

Went to this fresh thyme because traffic was too bad to go to the one on Elston. I was pleasantly surprised! Smaller than the Elston store, but same products with a little variation. One man behind the meat counter was the most helpful and courteous person. I wanted a larger piece if salmon than they had in the case, so he went in back to find one, got me a large piece and remembered to reprice it because it was on sale. Was asking everyone around if they needed assistance and finding everything ok. I think his name started with r but I didn't have my contacts in so I couldn't read the tag which is ashamed because he was the best worker in the store. I like the juice area of this store as well! read more

Went here a few weeks ago, pretty decent selection and they would get 5 stars if it were not for two things. The worst thing was the cashier packed our food in the bag with soap. GROSS!!! Teach cashiers/baggers that food and cleaning items DO NOT BELONG IN THE SAME BAG!! Also, $1.99 for Morton salt??? REALLY, THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS!! Any other grocery store you go to Morton salt is between 79 and 89 cents!!! read more

Amazing location with great prices and especially a very nice produce selection among many other grocery items at a very competitive price. Also let's not forget about the unique vitamins and body care section with soooo many wonderful options. The staff at this location are always welcoming and friendly. They have a very professional store management team as well who set a great example for the employees. Definitely a nice addition to the neighborhood. read more

I typically love Fresh Thyme (and this location in general) for a number of reasons -- love the variety, the already prepared meals, the fresh produce, etc. Prior to COVID times they had an amazing salad bar and I love their cold brew coffee selection, too! The staff is amazing and so kind, really appreciate them, as well. Recently we've had some bad luck with the quality of products-- for example I bought the store brand half and half and it was completely rancid when I opened it at home. Went back to return it and was given a replacement which also curdled with in 2 days. Very disappointing. Unfortunately given this and the fact that most of their items are quite expensive as compared to other stores in the area, I think we might start shopping elsewhere. There are some good products I will continue to come back for though (ice brew/caramel gelato, most of their cheeses, chocolate covered peanuts, etc), but most other things you can find for cheaper at other stores. read more

Really love this Fresh Thyme! It has easy parking (read: plentiful spaces, and you can park your mom car here without fear of hitting your neighbor when you pull out.) The organic produce is awesome. There are tons of brands for special diets- a ton of gluten free offerings, and great options for those with allergies to dairy and egg as well.The prepared food area is lovely, and the store is easy to navigate. This is not a place to get your typical grocery store processed brands, but rather more like Whole Foods. It carries brands and a store brand committed to better ingredients. Good wine selection and personal care section as well. For me, the purchases came out to less than my typical WF shopping run. read more

What started off as my new favorite grocery is now the worst! Last time I went there I was overwhelmed by the smell of decaying meat or seafood as soon as I entered. Nonetheless I went in to shop, hoping the odor was just at the entrance thinking maybe it was something in a garbage can by the door. No, that was not the case. The smell got worse as I approached the deli/meat section. I scratched off buying any meat or seafood. Next, I went to the bread. At the shelves with fresh baked bread in open sleeves I was shocked to see a cluster of fruit flies (that's what they looked like) hovering around an open loaf. I scratched off fresh bread and ended up buying a prepackaged brand that had an expiration date less than one week from that day. Wasn't happy with that but I really wanted to go home with bread. Next was yogurt. Same thing...expiration less than a week from purchase. Still, I bought it. Then came eggs. I didn't buy any because the expiration date was one week. I don't go through eggs that fast and even though people will argue that eggs are still good after the "best by" date, I like to consume before that date, and usually have no problem getting fresher eggs anywhere else in the area. The eggs were the nail in the coffin. The turnover in this store just isn't good enough for me to come back, not to mention that horrible smell and insects on the fresh bread. Just can't trust my health to that. What a shame. read more
