Trendy looking spot in the main drag in Plymouth, a few blocks from Plymouth Rock. Bar on one side,…read moretables on the other, with window view down to the water. Bartender handled the whole joint on a Saturday lunch. -- Patty Melt: Nice straddling between traditional and innovative. Brisket patty, neither thick nor thin, with a soft grind, cooked showing pink (I asked for medium rare if possible). Bacon-onion-jalapeño jam with some zip and bacon saltiness and bendy texture. Caramelized onions with a hint of sweetness. Partly-melted American cheese. Griddled marble rye with unnoticeable butter. Not perfection, but an enjoyable mix of flavors and textures. -- Fries (with the patty melt): Thin, crunchy shoestrings, aggressively salted, in assorted lengths. -- Quinoa Bowl: Bright flavors, good textures, per my wife. -- Ginger Soda: Made in house, string Ginger flavors, not too much sugar. Very good, though at $7, it's gotta be something you're certain you want. Solid experience. Hard to get a full picture without trying more things, but good enough to try more. And many good options for vegetarian dishes and mocktails.

I could already tell that the restaurant knew what it wanted to be when I saw the wall at the left-hand side of the dining room: a mural of a hillside town, lounging cozily between day and night against the crash of the sea. The saturated, uniform hues of the plates also helped establish a faraway yet subdued atmosphere, never once jumping on its high horse to establish excellence. I felt this time that going for a $25-$30-something main dish was too filling for lunch, so I considered myself lucky when I saw that the appetizer menu had several cultural highlights, chiefly the Jamaican peanuts and the jibarito sandwich. It's safe to say I'm not ashamed of either of these choices. The peanuts combined a familiar grainy sweetness with a gentle dollop of spice, topped with a roasted texture that let it melt in my mouth like never before. That's the bee's knees! The jibarito was nice. The messiness of the sandwich made it more appealing, in my opinion. The fact that it was arranged between two giant slices of fried plantain instead of bread gave me a heads-up that this was not just a tried-and-true Caribbean flavor, it was a meal made from the heart. *Crick* *Cruuuunch* Speaking of heart, the staff did a fair job of making our meal memorable. Kindness was a priority when it came to my experience. They didn't mind letting us wait for a guest who was ten minutes late. While the second helping took a bit longer than anticipated despite the venue not being crowded (my party was pressed for time that day), the end result was lovely. If one wishes to demonstrate style in their restaurant, then they ought to combine it with just as much substance; that's what I got during my visit.

We came as a group of 5 and all of us got a drink, they had some fun options that came in unique glasses with cute decorations! They even have some non-alcoholic mocktails on their menu. We thought the food was just okay, we were hoping for a better experience with the seafood in particular since we were right by the water. I did get a small cup of clam chowder which was quite good. I had the cajun mahi tacos as my entree and that was only decent at best. The mahi had really good cajun flavoring, I wish that taste would've been the main focus but it was overshadowed by the mango salsa and other toppings. The tacos came with tons of fries, they were perfect crinkle fries! My husband got the fish and chips, the fish wasn't as good as he was hoping for. The biggest downfall was the waitress coming out to tell us that she completely forgot to put in my friend's food order; she told us this after the rest of us got our food. The restaurant was not busy at all...how do you just forget? Very odd. She still put the order in right then, and we waited another 20-30 mins to get that entree brought out to us in a togo box. While they did give my friend her drink for free, they still charged us for that entree that was completely forgotten about and then brought out extremely late after everyone else had finished eating. She didn't even get to eat with us, it was after 9pm by the time we got it and it was time to go. That meal should've been given to her free of charge since it was their big mistake. Despite the very poor service, an automatic gratuity of 20% was already added to our bill since we were a group of 5. The service certainly did not deserve a 20% tip. I'll still give 3 stars since we did like some of the food and they had fun drinks, but I think it's more of a 2.5 if I could give half ratings--mostly because of the service.

For entrees my wife got the poke bowl and I got the bbq pulled pork sandwich. After finding a small discrepancy with my sandwich I informed my server and told him I'd eat the sandwich anyway to which he insisted it be remade. The sandwich was remade swiftly and I had my new sandwich in no time. I highly recommend the poke bowl and bbq pulled pork sandwich as they were very good. The manager even came over after the ordeal and made everything right and even bought me a beer. Not usually one to write reviews but I figured I would after receiving great food and great service.

I ordered a draft beer that was a local brew, the Mayflower. It was an IPA that was easy to sip on. The lunch pale ale was okay too. We started with two clam chowders, flavor was good but were very salty, like over the top salty. My prime rib Saturday special was pretty good, I enjoyed it. I requested horseradish creama which most definitely enhanced it. The seafood alfredo was tasty from what I tried, the sauce was good and seafood was fresh. I would say this place is average and convenient. I'd come back but maybe more for drinks and apps. They had a large bar area so it seemed popular for that. All in all, I wouldn't rush back but I wouldn't avoid it if I was in the area. Just expect an average meal.

What a great rep she is for this restaurant. Richard had clam chowder and I tried it. Superb! I had cooked lobster sushi. Tasty and presented nicely. For meals I had the salmon and couscous w/vegs: WOW! So delish, cooked just right. Very large servings for the prices, took half home. Richard had the scrod w/green beans and fingerling potatoes, all well seasoned. Best views of Plymouth Harbor are here, tastefully decorated interior. No more mirrors! Other than the prices for beef, prices are what one pays normally in most restaurants. People were dressed from casual to more dressy. They had a private room full of women having a great time plus a large banquet/overflow room. Outdoor deck dining available, too. My only complaint was with the air head next table over who could not think to turn the volume down/off on her phone. She/I jumped every time it rang. Old enough to know better, too.

NOTE TO GM'S WHO ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT TRAINED IN GUEST RECOVERY.... It is a BIG deal if we are spending our hard earned $ in your establishment and our meal is horrible. You should apologize. At least act as if you are concerned with the issue. I don't want a free dessert. Here is a sample talking point. " I'm very sorry your dinner experience was not wonderful. That's what we strive for. I will find out why your filet was sub par and remedy the issue. Could I get you another filet free of charge?" I understand your friends are done eating and it's unacceptable for you to be sitting here with no entree. I want to make this right for you. What can I do?" This type of manager response would prevent a 2 star review and my poor recommendation. I would give the restaurant another shot. However, this was not the managers response and we will not be returning. FYI, the "free dessert" shouldn't show up on the bill. It did. Attention to detail??? The water view and the nice napkins may keep the tourists coming, but not this local gal.

Winsor is Wonderful!…read more I see that Yelpers do not love Winsor due to the low ratings and reviews but I have to ask why. What I will say is if you read these bad reviews you might be surprised at what people complain about. But, on a more positive note, this will be my 3rd time dining here and everytime has been wonderful (hence my title). The food, ambiance, drinks, etc. you really can't go wrong with any of them. And, the drive there is also stunning. Duxbury as you know is a beautiful beach and golf city with million dollar homes along the way. Cha-Ching! I arrived a little early while I waited for my friend to arrive. The restaurant was not overly crowded which was good for a Friday evening. We sat right near the fireplace which was super nice. When my friend arrived we started with some drinks. Then we were so torn as to what to order so we started with their Tuna Crudo. My favorite since it was super fresh, melt in your mouth sashimi. Yummy! Then we shared a salad which was just ok. For entrees, she ordered the Linquine Vongole which looked good but a huge portion. I ordered Fluke for the first time and although it wasn't what I am used to, I still enjoyed it. We passed on dessert and had coffee with amaro; they have some nice after dinner drinks. All I have to say is go see for yourself that this gorgeous, south shore spot is perfect for any occassion. Or even if you want to grab a glass of wine/drink and sit at the bar, that sounds good too! Cheers~!

A consistently good experience has been the oysters and starters. Fortunately, it's easy to cross the street and eat at the ICO raw bar or bring some oysters home to shuck. That will continue. Cocktails are usually good. But Winnie entrees have been consistently under seasoned and underwhelming these last visits. On our last visit, one dish was so bad that much was inedible (and even what was consumed was mediocre). Vibes are good, so maybe just come for a drink and apps at the bar.
