Enter in Dennis and Son Tree Service. They called me back promptly- I explained the work that I needed done (defensive action against the trees on one roof- and offensive action toward future Mother Nature outbursts by clearing some trees away from the house at another location) Matt (would this be the son of Dennis and son?) told me he'd have an estimate to me later that same day and true to his word it arrived via fax. The price was right- the timing to have the work done- the next day, and he asked for no deposit or anything even though this was all handled over the phone. Told me just to send him a chieck when the work was complete. Love that! My trees were trimmed, offending branches removed and all the debris hauled away. And even better news is that the roof was not damaged by the tree! You can't always anticipate what Mother Nature is going to dole out. But if she is taking aim at the trees in your yard- give Dennis and Son Tree Service a call. They'll take care of the problem in no time and have you ready for the next time Mother Nature isn't feeling so "motherly".

During a tree service at my home on 3/21/25, Dorshak crew knowingly operated a bucket truck with an…read moreactive hydraulic fluid leak. This is a dangerous petroleum product that causes immediate permanent asphalt damage, environmental damage, and is extremely dangerous to people and animals. This resulted in a chemical spill up and down my 280'x12' driveway, onto to the road in front of my house, as well as a constant drip from where the truck was housed to my home (statute below). This incident has left deep-set stains (permanent) and potholes that need to be professionally repaired. Initially I had it cleaned enough to keep the oil from tracking into my house and to protect people and animals. This oil will cause immediate burns if touched and can be fatal if ingested. I was on-site and called their office to report the truck was leaking oil onto my driveway. The foreman told me they put cardboard under the truck where parked to "contain the oil". They did not leave my property when reported but continued to work which increased the amount of oil spilled onto my driveway. I took pictures up and down my driveway and asked the foreman to do the same, which he did. Mr. Dorshak called me early the next morning to send a crew to "clean it up" admitting liability but failed to report the spill which by state statute is mandatory. I needed special equipment and handling or the asphalt could be totally destroyed. From the date of the incident to present, the stains and potholes are up the middle of my driveway where they had not been before, and at the time were puddled on the road which my neighbors witnessed. This is negligence/property damage and several code violations by statute. For the permanent stains and potholes to my driveway Dorshak is legally and financially obligated to return my driveway to its original condition including stains and potholes. Mr. Dorshak will admit no liability while admitting his truck was leaking hydraulic fluid on public and private land which puts him at 100% liability. To date he has not paid me for damages. He wants me to pay for the tree service in full so he can dismiss the claim. STATUTE 49CFR - In WI a leaking hydraulic truck on private property and public roads is prohibited under WI HAZARDOUS SPILLS LAW and FEDERAL MOTOR CARRIER LAW which mandates that leaking vehicles cannot be safely operated or transported. As such, I would not recommend using their service.

What I expected would be a two day job turned into a three week project. Nothing was level, plumb, or straight. There were gaps left in the walls and the flower boxes were never finished. Dan became irate and combative. The work that was attempted now needs to be dismantled and rebuilt. The worker that was sent over admitted he had never done this before. He was not trained or supervised and was left to just wing it. I am left with an eye sore of an unfinished project even though we gave him half the money down at the start. I would never hire him again for anything.

Ripley started helping us with one garden bed and after seeing what a hard worker he was & how wonderful the transformation was we had him continue with more & more garden beds all summer. Owner, Chris, did consult agreeing that maple was in good shape, just needed light trim. crew showed up (not with Chris). Scott trimmed front perfectly. Another young man proceeded to climb my maple. I looked out the window and noticed that he was, what I considered, OVERLY AGGRESSIVE in trimming! They were picking up branches to haul off and appeared to be packing up. I opened window and asked them about mulberry as that was the one I was most worried about. Didn't want it to bring wires down when snow flies. stated they didn't have on work order. I showed him my estimate and called owner - handed worker the phone. They then trimmed mulberry. Would have liked it trimmed the way I explained to Chris but as long as the wires are clear, I let it go. Only reason for 3 stars was punctuality and politeness of crew. Work was done but won't hire again.

We chose to go with A New Leaf because they were competitive and Chris Voss, the owner, took time to review our options, explained everything thoroughly, seemed to care greatly rather than business first and his estimate was very competitive. We booked a date 3-4 weeks out. Yesterday, a crew of 4 guys came to our house with a bucket truck, tractor, trailer. Randy was the foreman of the crew and was very knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. In 4-5 hours, they transformed our curb appeal, our yard, removed all of the branches hanging our our roof and pruned the entire trees perfectly. The tree's still look like trees, they look healthier and 10x better. We could not be more pleased. Lastly, these guys are VERY GOOD at what they do. Above our garage, they took out some huge limbs that would have fallen and crushed our garage, but the guys used ropes and their skills and experience to remove these branches. I was watching and just waiting for it to hit the garage, but it never did, it was pretty amazing. I am just a normal homeowner and have to say, if you need any tree service, A new Leaf tree service exceeded all of our expectations and they were so easy to work with, you will not be disappointed. I trust them fully and will be calling again the next time I need tree pruning or services.
