Delicious (& gf options). Healthy options & definitely fresh. We utilize the drive through. : )

Love the rice bowls! So full of flavor and their hummus is amazing ! All good is amazing!

So disappointed. I'm staying in a hotel and trying new foods around the city for the week while training for work. Found this place and wanted to try. Was so excited to try! Dry meat.... Ruined the whole platter. I even asked the employees suggestion on what meat to get on the platter. Super sad and overpriced for what was offered. Still one hungry pregnant woman! read more

Absolutely friendly service and terrific food. Their many humus flavors are amazing with the pita bread !!

The owner is super nice and a wonderful cook! You must get the hummus and the Moroccan seasoning to eat at home. The rocking chicken is good! Lots of healthy options. read more

Food is my fave around. The falafels are so good, add spicy sauce and it's perfection always great service too.

I would be prone to give this a higher rating, but the reason for the 3 stars is as follows: 1) The girl who always works at the drive thru window is rather rude/seems annoyed most often when taking your order. She doesn't give you time to understand all that she is rattling off, and overall just is not what I would consider pleasant. Her attitude is probably the biggest turnoff in coming to this place. 2) Dressing is an extra $.75 each. They give you one small dressing for one medium salad. If I am paying $12 + for a salad, the least you could do would be to provide adequate dressing. 3) Refer to #2. I spent close to $14 my last visit for a medium-sized salad and paid for 2 additional dressing. Seems pretty damn expensive. I could go to Saint's next door and get a salmon meal with two sides for that. read more

I really want to like this place but time after time I order food wit NO CUCUMBER and every time they put cucumbers in my food. Today was the 3rd time in a row. read more

Another lovely fast casual restaurant. Food is decent, although pricey and portions are small. They're the best Mediterranean restaurant I've found in the Des Moines area. I wish they were more authentic though. read more

Finally!!! I have been searching long and hard for an amazing Mediterranean place that satisfied my taste buds in DSM. I just moved from Chicago so I was a little spoiled in this cuisine. That being said Fresh Med Express is the spot! Their portions are huge and reasonably priced, everything is fresh, and for those veggies out there- their falafels are killer! They actually taste like falafels should - not like grease and fried batter. Bonus they have a quaint patio area and are close to the Palms if you were wanting to get dinner and a movie! read more

Fresh is, hands down, my favorite restaurant in Waukee. Their food is fresh and amazing. The service has always been pleasant and prompt. I love to buy the tzatziki bring it home. All good things, highly recommend! read more

We stop here every time we are in Waukee. We really like the food and service. Gyros are delicious and wraps are too. The person at the window wasn't friendly at all and very curt today. Food is good though and worth every bite. Sweet potato fries do not disappoint. read more

Came here for lunch with a coworker and it didn't disappoint. We both ordered kabobs amd sweet potato fries. For something as simple as a kabobs, they were just bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly. The cashier warned us that the steak kabobs would take longer to cook but I felt like our food came quickly. Its pretty nice to have a place close by that was some healthier lunch options. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other things they have on the menu. read more

Fresh Mediterranean Express - Chicken and steak kabobs with sweet potato fries yummy - Mediterranean Near Me - Waukee, Iowa

I can't rave enough about this place! I've tried a few Mediterranean restaurants in the metro and I don't like any as well as Fresh. The falafel are so amazing and the harissa hummus is spicy, but delicious. I've never had anything bad from Fresh and will continue to go back as often as my wallet allows. It's on the pricier end for quick food, but it's worth it. Definitely my splurge when I'm craving Mediterranean food! read more

Excellent! All ingredients taste so fresh (appropriately named). The service was friendly and fast! I ordered the chicken gyro and sweet potato fries - all made to order. The fries cane with a deliciously seasoned ranch-esque dip. Fresh also offers a delicious date-walnut balsamic that tastes DELICIOUS on the sweet potato fries. You can buy their balsamic/olive oils for $4.99. They also sell Thema's ice cream sandwiches and craft root beer from Chicago. read more

Best "fast food" Mediterranean I've ever had. The spicy peanut sauce is to die for. Food is always fresh and delicious. 10/10

The staff is so hardworking and the food is always DELICIOUS. You're always greeted with a smile when you come in and the store is super cute. Emphasis on the food though, if you like Greek cuisine, then you'll never eat anywhere else. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in the Des Moines Area. The vegetables, gyro and falafels are always delicious.

One of my favorite spots in Waukee. The tapas platter is a great meal if you want to try a few things. Definitely recommend the pita sandwich and any of the hummus. Falafel and steak are also great. I love to stop in for a quick lunch/dinner but it's also a great option for appetizers or hosting dinner parties. read more

Great family owned place in Waukee. I ordered just the original gyro and a drink, was a little more than I would typically spend on lunch but it was worth it as I was craving gyro and it's nice to support the local business. Great service, clean space, fresh food. read more

Fresh Mediterranean Express - Spicy Gyro - Mediterranean Near Me - Waukee, Iowa

We get drive through pickup from here weekly. It's one of if not the best Mediterranean in the DSM area. My son and I always get a spicy gyro and beef kabobs. My wife loves the fresh platter. The sauces and hummus selections are great also. read more

Great for a drive thru Mediterranean restaurant. Kind of expensive but still good food.

Hits the spot every time. Spicy Gyros, Moroccan chicken Kabobs, Greek salads, and spicy hummus are some favorites

Yum! This place serves a nice selection of options and everything I've ever tried is delicious! My personal favorites are the Falafel sandwich and the spicy peanut butter sauce with naan. Hands down THE BEST tzatziki sauce I have ever tried! Their portions are a little on the smaller side and their prices are a bit on the higher side but that doesn't stop me from loving this place! Also, excellent customer service every single time! read more

I really like the food here and it is a healthier alternative to other fast food places with a drive thru. It's rare for me to come here, however, as the pricing is a little outrageous. I got a chicken gyro and side Greek salad for a total of nearly 19 dollars. I like to support local restaurants but it's hard to justify that amount for lunch often. read more

I love that there's a place in Waukee that's both a local business and serves excellent, fresh food. I love their gyro and always get their pita and hummus to have as an appetizer when guests are headed over. read more

Great gyros... good menu for eating healthy. Clean. Friendly staff . Fresh ingredients.

Fast! Fresh! Yummy! Got the Gyro wrap with everything on it and it was such a quick and fresh lunch! The place itself is smaller so can only seat so many inside but they have a drive through too! The Gyro Wrap will be my new go to!!! YUM! read more

If you like gyro sandwiches, this is one of the better places in town. The good things: lots of options including vegetarian, tons of customization spicy non spicy, sauces, fillings etc. I tried chicken, lamb gyros , rice bowls and falafel- everything tasted Fresh and good quality but don't expect a big portion sizes. The bad: Some of the fillings like feta and olives are additional charge 50cents each but they won't mention that while ordering, be careful of that. Also, with so many customizations I found it easier to order online so you don't miss anything. Finally- average meal per person costs 12$, comparatively little pricier than other equally good gyro places like Gazalis (near Drake neighborhood) read more

I want to love this place, but it was okay. I wish they did bowls or plates where you can pick all your options like I have been to in other cities. read more

It's expensive. Food is good. I like the drive-through. Greek Salad is pretty good. Staff is friendly.

I stopped here to get a Steak wrap with fries and it was $16 for a small portion to start. second they asked me to tip in the drive through.... when have you ever heard of that? never coming here again that's for sure. way to overpriced and obviously just in it for the money asking people to tip in the drive through. read more

My favorite gyros in town. Also love the rose lemonade. Definitely a favorite place in our house. Quick and easy to order through drive up.

Always a wonderful meal when we eat at Fresh! Hummus and pita, falafel, salad, gyros, Quick service and made when your order is placed. Like their name lives up to, it's Fresh. read more

We went to Fresh Mediterranean for the first time today. Food was excellent - we got a mix of the chicken, Moroccan chicken, steak and veggie skewers and they all were cooked and seasoned perfectly. One in our party got a Greek salad with gyro meat which was excellent as well. Also, the complimentary water (with cucumber and strawberry) was an excellent refreshing touch for flavored water lovers. We did have a few issues/mix ups though. We ordered our food 'for here' but they brought out all the skewers in a catering container and didn't bring plates or silverware and the salad was boxed up. Also, they automatically served a peanut sauce on the side with the skewers instead of the tzatziki sauce which we would have expected. Especially annoying since we had a peanut allergy in our party and there was no mention of the peanut sauce on the menu with the skewers. Both of these issues were respectfully addressed by the staff though (they brought us plates and silverware and exchanged our peanut sauce for tzatziki. Lastly, the menu inside the store is generally confusing - not a great list of what comes with what (especially if you aren't used to the "Iowa" Mediterranean definitions of Mediterranean food). I would definitely look at the (better) online menu before you come for the first time. Still gets a solid 4 starts for food quality and we will definitely be back, just would like to see some of those kinks worked out read more

I'm so bummed we won't be able to go to this restaurant anymore. The food is fresh, the staff is friendly, and it's a non-chain restaurant. However, this is the 2nd if not 3rd time I've had a hair in my food. This time I asked the owner if everyone was wearing hats or hairnets and he confirmed they were, but when I looked at the staff preparing food that was not the case. The owner was flippant and offered no sympathy, remorse, or an apology. Thee strikes and you're out, Fresh Med. read more
