My gf and I just got the best service with Alec and Abbey. It was my first time visiting a Fresh Healthy Cafe, and I'll definitely be back. When I asked for a smoothie suggestion that contained ginger, Alec quickly answered and offered a great choice with The Cold Terminator. Then, when Abbey realized they had just run out of orange juice, she and Alec both sincerely apologized and suggested several alternative juice bases. I'm really enjoying the new custom blend with a beet/ginger base (more ginger is always better) as I write this and think it should be added to the menu. Beet juice #FTW. Thanks, Alec and Abbey. This is my first time to this restaurant. I know this a new place and we just want to give a try. My first impression was that I thought this was a smoothie place because I could see all those organic agave bottles all around the store . They have lot of good options and I vegan too. I took sometime in deciding what I wanna order and went ahead with spicy chicken sandwich. Food was good . Bread was crisp and grilled well. Veggies was OK. Chicken was bland and overall the sandwich was not as juicy as I expected. But I had a very nice light feeling after eating. In the era of very fast serving microwave restaurants, this seems to be a very good concept . They are promising everything to be green and fresh. But it comes with drawbacks too 1. I wanted a healthier alternative to mall cafe food so I was happy to see a salad bar option and boy do I regret it and wish I had gotten fast food bc I would have been much more satisfied. I got the protein bowl. Let's just say The kale and the spinach were literally wilted. They charge 50 cents for avocado which is fine but then when you get your salad it's literally 1 slice of avocado that looks like it's in the verge of going bad. The green peppers were like see through so I'm sure they were on the verge of going bad too. I asked for hemp heart seeds and there were none on my salad. Overall poor quality of vegetables and very cheap on portions and they charge you $9 for a bowl of rotten salad. And let's talk about the lemonade; extremely watered down and does not have much of a flavor. Definitely don't recommend for salads. Food was decent, however customer service was awful. I ordered a panini, thinking that there was no sesame in the bread since the picture appeared to be plain bread. After receiving my panini, there in fact was sesame, and when I politely brought it to the cashiers attention, I practically had to beg him to remake it. He blamed me and said that I made them lose money. When I finally got my remade sandwich, he told me that they used the same knife to cut my sandwich that they did to cut another sandwich made with sesame-simply a lack of common sense. If you are very hungry, in a hurry or generally impatient this may not be the place for you. Their smoothies are absolutely amazing and totally worth the price, you won't want another smoothie from any establishment in the food court once you've had theirs. That is assuming that the person making yours has worked there for a while or is reading the recipe and actually following it and not forgetting an important ingredient like banana. As far as the rest of the menu the items I have ordered have been ok when they were, or what I am assuming to be, made according to the recipe. I have had some dishes here that were awful and some that were good, it really depends on who is working I guess. There is a lack of consistency with the products and that is a concern seeing as how they are a little bit higher in prices compared to the other options. THE WAIT THO...its just too long, esp when I am the only person or one of 3 people ordering. There seems to be a good number of employees there at any given time, at least 3-4, so why it takes more than 10 minutes to make a smoothie when I am one of two people waiting for food is beyond me. I wont even get started on the incorrect orders I've received, usually because they are willing to make it right but sometimes you don't have the time to let them correct their mistake. I hope to be able to genuinely change my rating once they have been in the mall a little bit longer, if they stay in business that long. read more

Located right in the food court of Twelve Oaks mall. This little joint offers so many healthy foods and drinks. You can also order healthy juice shots like wheat grass. The average amount of calories are listed next to each item. You have the option of ordering whole or half sandwiches but I think their halves look tiny. I had the soup of the day which was a vegetable soup. It was really thick for a soup (refer to pic). It consisted of chunky tomatoes, onions, green squash, and green/yellow beans. Not a big variety of veggies but it was okay. The only thing that bothered me was the person ringing up everyone because he was wearing his working gloves... but if I do go back, I will probably give the smoothies and acai bowl a try. read more

Tried this at the Novi Mall. I went for a quick smoothie. Their Avocado dream. However, I didn't want frozen yogurt or agave that they put in their shake. For something called "Healthy" they shakes definitely are not. I asked for no yogurt bc I'm lactose intolerant. I figured they could figure this out pretty easily. However, I just had a feeling that they weren't going to make it right anyway. I watched and as they made it they put something frozen that looked like ice cream in it. When they gave it to me I asked. What did you put in this. They put Mango Sorbet in it. Um..Ok. I didn't ask for MANGO SORBET (which is nothing but about 30g of sugar btw). So I made them remake it. The workers seemed like I had asked them to perform neurosurgery. But whatever I just spent $7.00 for this. Regardless they remade it, begrudendly. Not only did I get a smoothie...but I got a smooth at about 3/4 Filled because Lord forbid they put in a little more coconut milk. So it tasted like coconut avocado milk. There were bananas in it..but at this stage I would guess it was 2 slices. Lmfao. Worst "healthy" smoothie EVER. If you get their regular smoothies and have any remote interest in a healthy smoothie it is indeed not!! Loaded with sugar and calories is what you will get. Good luck. I tossed it away after a couple drinks. And for someone who buys alot of protein shakes/powders and had a lot of bad health food shakes, protein bars and such in my life. I've been here before and service wasn't bad...... TODAY..... awful... bunch of young kids that had no idea what heck was going on ..... I literally stood there while they asked each other who's food was who's for like 15 min.... that's after already waiting 15min..... and it wasn't busy at the time I was there .... they gave me food then took it away twice to look at it while still trying to figure out my other item.... I honestly do not even know where to start.. the first time I came here I was pleasantly surprised so I made the mistake of coming back. The second time I came back the guy working kept a hitting on me over and over, made me feel very uncomfortable then started calling me by my name and asking me for my phone number. After not seeing him working for awhile I decided to come back. The people working were very busy BUT the guys taking orders was rude he stopped taking orders and went In the back and was on his phone. Then as the line grew he came back out started helping with the orders as there's a very long line and the finally after waiting 20 minute I finally got my order taken. I then watched him PICK A WEDGY with his gloves on and put the chicken in my wrap. So at that point I threw away my food (that I over paid for) and didn't get to enjoy my lunch. I had high hopes for this place because I love healthy food and am always looking for a place to get something quick and nutritious...also, the pictures on the digital menu board looked fantastic! Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the pictures. Things seemed to be made poorly and in a rush. My veggie sandwich was all bread and had very little filling, and was barely hot (it was supposed to be made on a panini press) and my salad just looked...sad. It was a bowl of lettuce, 2 cucumber slices, half of a tomato slice, and a few slivers of green peppers. My friend got a turkey avocado wrap which didn't have much filling and was falling apart, probably because it was very sloppily made. Poor customer service by the manager Bran. Showed up at 11:34 and my order wasn't complete until 11:51. I was the only one in line for a while and I finally was able to get a hold of one of the employees whom I asked if I could make an order because I had to get to work soon and was in a small hurry and she she said "okay" and went and grabbed the manager who completely ignored me and continued to work on another order. We chose this restaurant in the food court because we were looking for something that wasn't fried. It was a terrible mistake. It took 15 minutes for our food to come out at 3:30 pm. The staff looked perplexed and confused about what they were making and who to serve it to. My turkey bacon avocado wrap came out without the avocado and almost no turkey. Definitely would stay away. I love pitaya bowls and açaí bowls and I was super excited to try this place out. The menu looked great and they had so many veggie, GF and dairy free options. So I ordered 2 pitaya bowls to go with the granola on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. The girl making it put all the toppings (including the granola) on both then realized she was supposed to put it on the side so she scoops out all of the toppings plus half the pitaya bowl and throws it out. Then she finishes making it then throws a lid on it, doesn't make sure it snapped in place and throws it in a bag. One of the bowls spilled completely in the bag and it was a mess. I thought I would give a couple of visits before I would leave a review. First time I went there there was a line and the attendant had no urgency. When it came to my turn I was barely greeted and it was straight up business. I got my order in and anxiously awaited (long wait for food court food). I was looking forward to trying the açai mega berry smoothie. It was okay. Once you've had real açai it's really hard having a "mega berry" combo which ended up overwhelming the drink and making it too acidic. I took 3 sips of it and that was the end of that. I had the chicken Caesar salad wrap which apart from the fact that the tortilla was "wet" was actually pretty good. The next day I went by to try the wrap again and this time I had to refrigerate it for a couple of hours and it ended up being soggy and inedible. A sandwich should be able to hold in the fridge for a couple of hours without falling to shreds. It seems this is a new business that is not run very well. The employees seem to have a lack of proper customer service friendliness training. In this industry, courtesy is 101 basics for restaurants and the bare essential you can do to stay in business. This place seems to have such a good menu and variety of healthy choices, which are rare in the food court. We desperately need a good healthy choice and if you can step up your game, you would rule the food court. read more

This is a salad/smoothie café. I ordered the beach sandwich and added a chicken breast: my total was $12, which included a tip that was added onto the credit card at the time of purchase. Unfortunately, had I realized that I would have to wait for 15 minutes (I was the only person waiting on a Thursday at 1 PM) I would not have left the tip. At first, I was given the incorrect salad. After the lady realized her mistake, she offered to remake the salad. Unfortunately, she informed me that she would have to thaw chicken breast in the microwave. Ordered a smoothie that claimed to be "fresh", but was made with concentrated juice and sorbet, very high in sugar and calories!! I also ordered a Ceaser salad, GROSS AND TINY!! This place was SO overpriced. My salad was the size of my palm and I paid $4-5 extra to add grilled chicken and received only TWO COLD pieces of rubbery chicken thrown on top of my salad with only lettuce and carrots on it. I was so excited to have a healthier option in the food court but after my last visit I was very disappointed. The person that made my sandwich forgot to put it on the grill and when I called to ask about it they said if I walked it down to prove that it was wrong, they would put my (already been touched and bites out of) sandwich back on the grill to warm it up.... even though she said she would put paper down first the thought that they put already eaten food on their grill is enough to turn me away for good.
