We signed up for the small box delivery. The variety is great. I am truly looking forward to the weeks ahead. I gave only 4 stars because delivery was not where I requested. I joined FreshFix last spring early in the Covid pandemic so my family wouldn't have to go to grocery store as much or so our trips could be shorter. Even with Covid cases dropping and the adults in the family vaccinated, I still like using FreshFix, for the variety and the convenience of having produce delivered right to our doorstep. I like cooking, but I struggle a little with deciding what to cook. I find FreshFix helpful because on Fridays I get an email telling me what's in their boxes for the week, and then I can figure out dishes to make with the produce selections. FreshFix shares recipe ideas on its blog and emails for more inspiration. We've eaten some vegetables that we've never eaten before thanks to FreshFix, like romanesco broccoli, and other vegetables that aren't new to us but aren't ones we would normally eat, like radishes. There's the option of swapping out an item in the box if you know you or your family absolutely won't eat it, but I usually don't make modifications. The produce quality is good. Supermarket strawberries are no match for the local strawberries you can get via FreshFix, though you have to order them fast when they're available, because they'll sell out. In the few cases where we had issues, like some mold on some tomatoes on the vine, we were able to get credited without too much hassle. There are also times when FreshFix is unable to deliver a particular produce item as expected if the farm didn't end up having enough, but FreshFix gives substitutions in those cases that I feel are fair. For example, I received romaine as a substitute for a different kind of lettuce I was originally supposed to get. In addition to produce, they have a lot of other items from local producers, bread and other baked goods, dairy products, meats, kombucha, chocolate, and more. The prices are a little higher than what you would pay if you bought directly from the producer--I compared a couple of items, and FreshFix's prices were usually a dollar more than buying direct. I think that's fair for buying items from producers that aren't convenient for me to go to myself. While FreshFix isn't cheap, I find the quality, variety, and convenience worth it. It doesn't completely replace going to the grocery store for us, but I always look forward to the deliveries! read more

I'm only on week 2 of using fresh fix but so far I've been loving it! Despite one communication issue with where to drop off a delivery it's been perfect. The quality of the products are absolutely amazing and you can taste the freshness. I made roasted carrots using some olive oil, salt, and pepper and my husband was amazed with the flavor despite it being so simple! Simply put, I love my Fresh Fix subscription. I was a Misfit Market subscriber prior to joining Fresh Fix. Fresh fix blows them out of the water! I will never look back.. The service has been impeccable and our delivery person has been stellar. Delivery has been consistent and convenient, even all the way out here in Lockport. Most importantly though, the produce and all their products have all been great. When I was using Misfit Markets, the produce would often come damaged, spoiled or close to it. That has never been the case with Fresh Fix, my produce always lasts as long as it takes to use it. I feel the produce is a good value for the price. In addition, the add on products I have tried have been great as well. It is cool to try some local products I may not have access to or knowledge of otherwise. I'd highly recommend the service to anybody who's thinking about it, it's been well worth our subscription. read more

Fresh fix is a great subscription CSA service! There is a $25/year membership fee, but there are always promos to help save on that fee. Just keep an eye on their Facebook page. Their "small" box runs about $23/week on top of the yearly fee. I've gotten such wonderful produce on a regular basis--patty pan squash, local cherries, organic strawberries, beets, zucchini, etc. You can customize your box, if you'd like, too. You can also order regular groceries through them as add ons: Ithaca yogurt, local Maple syrup, coffee, bananas, and much, much more! I think it's totally worth the $25/year fee--you can support local farmers and get some wonderful produce. I have yet to see anything not up to the highest quality. It's all much better than what you'd find at Tops or Wegmans AND it's delivered to your front door! Avoid the store and check it out! read more

We just found out about Fresh Fix this year and dang do we love it! I live in the Northtowns so we don't make it to the south towns much, especially during Covid. Fresh Fix helps us get our "fix" from the restaurants and producers we would otherwise miss. They offer fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, beverages, and pantry items all from local farms, artisans, restaurants and producers. You can truly shop for anything from Western/central NY and have it delivered to your house once a week. Their customer service is excellent as well. I love that the money I'm spending on these high quality goods is directly benefitting local small business, not big corporations. A yearly membership is required but inexpensive. You can skip weeks without any kind of fees and then pick up when you want again. Highly recommend! read more

I started off with a pre-Covid free membership, and experienced few if any problems for 6 months. I felt I was paying too much for what I was getting - but I felt good about helping local farmers. RATING 4. There were some delivery snafus in the winter months, but once Covid hit / I was grateful to be offered a number of weeks of free vegetables because of their donors. When you are getting free things, you don't complain. Once I started paying and their business growing because of shelter in place orders - they became over-whelmed and have not fully found their stride. In the Spring, a man opened my screen door and threw a box in (boxes were always to be left outside) - and when I complained - they denied a man was delivering - if my own eyes were deceiving me. I didn't need to be gaslighted by a vegetable delivery service. RATING 3. I stopped purchasing until the offerings were better suited to my needs. One week I received mouldy beans, and another week I received rusted broccoli. RATING 2. Then they had the nerve to cancel me because I complained as if it were somehow my fault they were delivering shoddy product. RATING 1. Even after they cancelled me they charged me for a box the following week and did not deliver. When questioned about it I was told the transaction had been voided and should not have even showed up on my bank statement - yet it did. As if I was an idiot who couldn't (again) believe my own eyes. I sent them a screen shot of the account clearly three days after the charge supposedly wasn't there. No response. Unapolegitically arrogant is the way I describe the situation. For now, there's the Farmers Market, and I hear better services as well. I'm sorry Fresh Fix, but this is of your own doing. My advice ... if you use the service - don't complain about anything and you will get along fine. read more

This service is good, if you can't make it to a fresh market. You order a standard box and receive it on Wednesday, I am on the west side. Different days for different areas. The service is worth a try. You may be happy with it like me. Just got a jelly, it is great. read more

First the meat is sometimes frozen.. how is that fresh. If it is going to be frozen that should be labeled before you purchase. I once received a tomato from Canada.. how is that local?! I received 10$bagels that were stale and bacon would blue dye on the meat. read more

Love love love FreshFix! Different from other farm shares where you have to pick up the produce and usually pay upfront for the whole season. Since they work with different farms in the area, the variety of produce is also a plus. I opt for the box auitrd for a faily of 1-2 ppl. There are ususally 4-5 different veggies in my box every week. They bill you on Monday for the week and you get the delivery that week, in my area its Wednesday. The produce is well handled and fresh. Very affordable. The staff is very responsive and friendly. I am going to continue using them every season! read more
