Last weekend our local newspaper Parool, featured a big hamburger test. They tried 30 burgers all…read moreover Amsterdam. It made me hungry for burgers. For dinner I decided to order some food online, because I felt lazy and did not want to spend to much on a restaurant. I decided to browse for burgers and I found Johnny's Burger Co., located at the Ceintuurbaan, very close to my home (so food will arrive warm and quickly!). I had never heard of Johnny's but they menu looked great, not something you would expect from a delivery service, more like an awesome burger bar menu. There were all kinds of burgers on the menu, for fair prices. Also sides likes curly fries or onion rings. I ordered the Johnny burger (the specialty) and big Belgian fries. They arrived in 30 minutes or something, maybe 45, I'm not sure. Everything was hot and tasting great. The burger was so tasty and had a nice soft bun. The fries were yummy as well. I am going to order here more often for sure. Prices were great and the burger very good. They should have featured this company in the Parool test because I liked it much more than some other restaurants burger that scored pretty high on the test.

If you're looking for a quality burger, you're in the wrong place. The bun and toppings weren't bad…read morebut they use mass produced, low grade burgers. The jalapeño poppers were still cold inside. This is just a standard snack bar disguised as a quiality burger bar. I was starving when I went here, so I should have been easy to please, but I was still disappointed. This review is based on a visit in November 2017. I thought I wrote a review back then but it seems to have disappeared, or I just imagined writing it.

You also have the option to have it heated and eat it at their table. There's only one table but from what we saw, most if not all patrons just take it to go. We was only about 15 euros between two of us with a drink. Definitely a more affordable option to eat here in Amsterdam. Employees are nice and will explain to your all the options. If you pick veggies only, you get more choices.

Great Indonesian takeaway with a big selection and friendly service…read more In the evening there is a line out the door. A good sign of things to come! Among the rice and noodles, I was surprised to see that they also offer lontong. I got the Nasi Rames menu (€7.70) which comes with white rice, three vegetable dishes, two meat types, and an egg. My choices were terong blado (eggplant and chilies), tumis kacang panjang (spicy tempe and greenbeans), oerap (salad of coconut and bean sprouts), and daging bali (Balinese style beef). I also asked for nasi kuning (rice cooked in coconut milk and turmeric) instead of white rice and the lady behind the counter was happy to substitute for a small fee which I don't remember but I was fine with the price. Everything was properly spicy, and they do warn you if you're faint of heart. The food tastes like it should, except I think the daging bali would be spicier in Bali. Delicious authentic Indonesian food! A plastic bag costs a few cents so be smart and bring your own or else carry the box in your hands. On your way out, you can also pick up a few essentials in their small grocery corner like fried anchovies or Kecap Manis. They also have some traditional cakes and fried snacks in the case by the entrance. Just don't expect to sit down here because there is only one table.
