We now add our vote for favorite. Walked in and ordered the Margherita Pizza with onion. It was fast, convenient and, oh the taste, was marvelous. Thin crust, just the right amount of sauce, plenty of cheese, basil and sautéed onion. It was excellent! If ever in Amsterdam again, Pizza Heart can count on another visit from us!

You can also create your own salad and choose all the ingredients. I also a had juice; apple/pear/mint. Delicious! Well it should be because its pretty damn expensive. 5 euros, and not even a big glass.. But well, it was good. There is also free water which is nice. The interior was beautiful and cozy. It really felt good and I felt very relaxed. I really like Venkel! I thought SLA was the best but now I like Venkel even more. The salads just taste amazing. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Just try it soon!

Let me introduce you to the best food delivery service I know of: Fit Foods…read more Apparently their products have been available for sale at three different places for awhile but they have just launched the delivery service. For each day there is one choice of each (beef, fish, chicken, veggie). You need to order by 4pm the day before for lunchtime or dinnertime delivery. At around 10 euros I don't think you can get a better meal. And apparently for a limited time they are offering free delivery as well! Yessssssss! The meat-based meals are carefully balanced combinations of protein, carbs and fat. The back of the packaging tells you about ingredients, calories and other relevant info. They came within the delivery window, portion size was large and it was delicious. This is perfect for people who work at home and are tired of their own cooking but don't want to go out. Or for a lunchtime meeting or team building lunch. Note that the listed address is not a visiting address - you must order online or visit one of the three point of sale locations (see website). I'm a big fan!

For dinner I decided to order some food online, because I felt lazy and did not want to spend to much on a restaurant. I decided to browse for burgers and I found Johnny's Burger Co., located at the Ceintuurbaan, very close to my home (so food will arrive warm and quickly!). I had never heard of Johnny's but they menu looked great, not something you would expect from a delivery service, more like an awesome burger bar menu. There were all kinds of burgers on the menu, for fair prices. Also sides likes curly fries or onion rings. I ordered the Johnny burger (the specialty) and big Belgian fries. They arrived in 30 minutes or something, maybe 45, I'm not sure. Everything was hot and tasting great. The burger was so tasty and had a nice soft bun. The fries were yummy as well. I am going to order here more often for sure. Prices were great and the burger very good. They should have featured this company in the Parool test because I liked it much more than some other restaurants burger that scored pretty high on the test.

The pizza choices are more adventurous than many pizza joints I've been to in North America. I was delighted to see (and greatly enjoyed) the vegetarian pizza with artichoke heart on it. (I've gotten into the habit of putting artichoke heart on the pizzas I make at home. They're a vegetable which absolutely works on pizza, and let you swing the balance a little bit away from the fats and carbs extreme, but it's hard to find a pizza joint which offers them.) The shoarma pizza was intriguing, and mostly worked, but felt like it needed something to complete it. (Possibly onions and green peppers?) As a pizza joint should, this place stays open later than most of the other restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, the non-alcoholic drinks are pretty small. Drinks like Coke, Fanta, mineral water (sparkling or still), or iced tea (which is carbonated) all come in little bottles of 200-250 millilitres (6.8-8.5 ounces). If you want to get in your daily 2 litres of water, you'd definitely need to order multiple drinks, or drink between meals.
