The breakfast food here is always fresh, just like the name says, but they have way more than donuts! Kaolaches, both fruit-filled and multiple combos of sausage and cheese of course, and amazing bacon or sausage and cheese sandwiches on croissants....yummy! And the namesake donuts? Some have toys on top and all really are fresh! They can also make lattes and specialty coffees. It may be a small place but it is packed with goodness. Amazing cinnamon rolls and kolaches. The donuts are my family's favorite. The owners are really good, kind people. They do a lot for the community. Horizon Coffee is located inside. Yum! Try the house latte. It is great hot or iced. Children love this place, if you get there early enough, there are all kind of different colored glazed, many with toys on top. Today was the first time I've been to this donut shop, although I live around the corner. Unfortunately, I never knew it was there! I didn't try the donuts, but I ordered some kolaches. They are the best in town without question. The dough is soft, delicious, and perfectly cooked. They are big and unlike other donut shops in town, they are completely stuffed. I didn't get there early enough or I would have order the boudain kolaches. I have never heard of that, but it sounds delicious. The people were also very nice. read more

I've had better chocolate-frosted donuts, custard donuts, fruit donuts, cider donuts, maple-glazed and bacon-draped donuts, peanut butter-glazed banana cream-filled donuts--even a delicious beet and goat cheese donut!--from other donut shops, in other places and other times. I've had fancy Manhattan donuts (mocha frosting, vanilla bean custard), I've had gas station donuts, I've had sesame-studded donuts fresh from the pan in my mom's kitchen. I've had hot, warm, ambient temp and stale donuts, and in trying times I've attempted to revive leftover crusty donuts in the microwave. Each has had its charms. But I have never had a better glazed yeast donut-- could not imagine a better glazed yeast donut-- than this. And also plain glazed yeast donuts are my favorite donuts, so I really lucked out! I love this particular donut shop. The owner and staff are extremely engaging and friendly, and always have a smile on their face. They make a point each visit to thank you for your visit. It shouldn't be that rare to find the kind of great service, but this shop stands out from every single other one in town in that regard. Their donuts are good. Their specialty donuts are great. Their kolaches (sausage or boudain) are excellent, and easily rival and beat Kolache Rolfs. We stopped by here on our way through town sometime around July/August of 2017, originally looking for a Shipley's, but decided on this place instead. We don't live in this area but have a lake house in Franklin and have been coming up here since I was a kid. This was the first time we'd noticed the place, but to be fair, we don't often make an hour drive to go looking for donuts... The owners Nat and Shawnie were both there and SO NICE. They had some of the most creative donuts I've ever seen and got excited about the creation of them when you asked. I can't recall what all donuts we ended up getting, but I do remember trying and LOVING the banana bread ones, and I remember seeing some with coco and fruity pebbles, oreo, bacon, froot loops... I recall trying and liking the bacon one as well. We came late in the day when they were getting ready to close up and they were nice enough to give us tons of donuts for free, since we'd already purchased a lot and they were going to toss a lot of them anyway. We had donuts left for the rest of the weekend. Overall, if you're looking for a yummy donut shop in this area with creative flavors and friendly service, you should stop here! We'll definitely be back when we start frequenting the lake house again in the summer. read more
