In 2023 I rescued (my definition, the dog had been denied medical care by previous owner) a beautiful lab/corgi mix. She ended up having 6 very large urinary stones. They quickly got her in for surgery (Dx last afternoon, surgery next morning). Follow up care was also excellent. They kept me informed of how she was doing during the couple of days she stayed after surgery as well. The only drawback - no appt's on the weekends.

One true bonus with Healthy Tails where they even have an edge on Dogtopia is having a vet on premises. A few times my pup has needed something that I would have had to schedule a special visit at our regular vet, take time off work, etc. but since the vet is there at Healthy Tails, they're able to take care of his needs during the day when he's also there for fun with his buddies. The girls are all very friendly and help the dogs feel at ease. Dr. Jim is a knowledgeable, professional veterinarian with honest answers and without a bunch of BS add ons. Our dogs hate getting left, but they're able to stay together in a large kennel at a discounted rate (many boarding kennels still charge for 2) and we know they'll get their meds on time and be in good hands with the staff here.

When we made our cats annual appt we were not told that they only have the 3 yr rabies shot as our…read morecat gets really sick from it and they knew that. Also, when we got there we were told they were out of the Lukemea shots. Another important thing we were not told and they are also out of penicillin. We were told they have no idea when they would be getting these in which is scary in itself. After we got home our cat got really sick so I called the main number as the vet does not give out an alternative one and no call until over an hour later. We couldn't wait around any longer so we went somewhere else where we got the care we needed and thank God our cat got better. Then just recently we got a call from the vets employee stating since they don't have the 1 year rabies shot and still no Lukemea shot that they can transfer our records to someone else. My husband and I have already decided before getting that message that we chose our new Vet. This tells us we should have went somewhere else a couple of years ago. Our new Vet has an emergency number which helps out a lot.
