If you're wanting to study fashion, be it design, business, make-up, styling or journalism, this is…read morecertainly the college to opt for. It is one of the most reputable, and many of the established designers and fashion experts have learnt their craft here. I studied two part time courses in both the John Princes Street and Davies Street colleges and absolutely loved them. The teachers know the industry inside out and their expertise comes from actively working in fashion so you can be assured that you are learning from the best. There is an amazingly addictive creative buzz as everyone is immensely enthusiastic about what they do and you truly learn the meaning of the phrase 'passion for fashion'! The facilities are great, including top range and current IT equipment and an extensive resource library at John Princes Street. The college also often holds industry led conferences and seminars. I also predict that the people who attend the London College of Fashion are the most colourful - you are sure to see an amazing selection of obscure (yet fashionable as hell) outfits and hair cuts!

On the Princes street campus there is the best library I've ever come across, and they have a great selection of computers with loads of great software programs installed in both Princes and Davies street. The Hub in Davies st is the bar/cafe and does really cheap food and drink. I usually go for a bagel with cheese, chicken and pesto which costs £1.70, total bargain. Just outside the Hub is The Arts Gallery, University of the Arts London, 65 Davies Street, W1K 5DA. Here they have loads of different exhibitions of up and coming artists which is free for all UAL students.

I'm not really one for paying to make myself push myself and sweat. However luck was on my side and…read moreI won week of personal training in a charity raffle donated by the trainer himself. You can imagine my face as I accepted my prize (I was hoping for the Kindle!) I've always loved playing sports, tennis, squash, lacrosse etc but to me that's not hard work, it's the keeping in shape and staying fit I've always hated! Personally I don't see the point in running unless I'm being chased or for the bus! So with this prize I thought I'd turn a new leaf and embrace the training that waited for me. Enough about me back to the review. The trainer Conor is a really lovely chap, he does tailor made fitness classes for individuals and small groups. But he also invited me to do a boxing class he runs at the Nuffield gym in Bloomsbury. It was AWESOME! The class was really hard work but fun way to do a work out. Major sweat and lots of burning but really worth it. Unfortunately I was only a guest as you have to be a member of the gym to do the classes. Seriously considering joining the gym for the class. As for the gym it's the nicest one I've ever been into. Bright and clean like you would hope and only a faint smell of chlorine from the pool. No mouldy smell and the changing rooms were lush with all the essentials provided, including complementary towels and good hairdryers! I haven't done a complete u-turn but I'm not so anti gyms and fitness now!

The staff are friendly, and seemingly quite determined to encourage you to have all sorts of fitness assessments and reviews. The swimming pool is well designed and relaxing, with a parents and kids session on a Sunday morning. There is also a beauty treatment centre on site, offering small discounts to fitness club members. My one complaint about Cannons would be that, because it is underground, you can't watch the world go by as you work out. This feels fairly oppressive during the summer, but in the winter is hardly noticeable. The best times to use the gym are, between 10 and 12 in the morning and 2 to 5 in the afternoons.

Looking around and reading reviews of coursed on offer I decided to sign up for the 10 week Manhattan GMAT group course and am glad I did. Robert, the head instructor, was very engaging and very knowledgeable. His methods were spot on and he helped all of the students in the class improve their weaknesses and hone in their strengths. My goal, like many, was to score 700 or above. The Manhattan GMAT course helped me improve my score by 80 points and achieve my goal. Anyone who is willing to work hard and listen to the instructors advice will improve their GMAT score significantly by taking any of the Manhattan GMAT courses.

What I loved about the bootcamp was that the classes were structured according to the actual GMAT timing - two ~75m sessions per day and during class we had 2 minutes to work out every question. We learned not only content but invaluable strategies and mindsets that were crucial to acing the test. After the bootcamp, students had access to various free one-on-one sessions (either via Skype or in person) where instructors helped to closely review our strengths/weaknesses and analyze our performance on practice/actual GMAT. I'd highly recommend bootcamp to those who prefer short and intensive studying and have time for a 2-week full-time immersion.
