I've had so many horrible experiences with doctors in general but also specifically with mental health professionals in the past where I didn't feel heard at all or I'd be talked to in a condescending way and leave appointments feeling more distraught then when I'd came. It's so important to feel comfortable with a mental health professional because the people seeking these appointments tend to usually already be in such a vulnerable mental and emotional state. From my first appointment until now Kelsey has always made me feel heard. She doesn't interrupt me after 2 minutes of talking to start writing off a prescription. She listens to my concerns about medication and answers my questions as best as she can. I don't feel rushed through appointments. I really feel like I can take the time to ask any questions I need to. I hate being prescribed medicine without getting an explanation as to what it's meant to do or the possible side effects because again, if I'm already in a fragile emotional state and then am not aware of the adjustment period or how that the medicine can affect me it can be even more discouraging to seek help. I think it's so important for patients to feel empowered by and aware of their treatment because the experience should be really interactive. The best way to get treatment should be when both the patient and the provider are trying their best to work together to find the proper solution and that can only be done when patients feel comfortable enough to ask questions and tell their honest experience and providers can listen and be upfront with what they think would be the best options because they're the ones with the professional medical experience and knowledge. I feel like this location and area in general gets a bad rep but I honestly always have much better experiences with the providers here than in central San Diego.

The location itself is terrible. It is small, and the parking is insanely small, and hard to get out, because it's connected to an alley way. The rooms are not really sound proof, and you can hear outside noises (concerned for my privacy). I am not fond of the entrance, it has stairs, it's close to a street intersection, and when you enter you might hit someone because the front desks are situated there as well. It's a poor layout, but I was told by my therapist that there's a new construction site beginning somewhere late spring of 2017, for their new office. Despite the bad construction design, the people who work here are definitely doing their jobs (5 stars on that one).

As a result, I immediately reported Vivian Ash's behavior to her supervisor, director, and BBS. However, the director didn't assist and sadly the case with BBS was not accepted. Vivian diagnosed our son with an adjustment disorder but failed to see the environmental factors (i.e DV incident, father continuously shaming our son) and frequently minimized the father's behaviors. As a result, Vivian Ash has harmed our son, our son had suicidal ideation, somatic symptoms, and school phobia days leading to his father's timeshare. Vivian immediately discharged our son under her treatment knowing that our son's symptoms were worst to avoid a lawsuit. Shortly after, our son was diagnosed with PTSD and had difficulty trusting adults because of her negligence. Equally important, Vivian Ash diagnosed me when I was not even her client, and I never consented to treatment as retaliation when I would question her practice,

I had struggled with anxiety for over half my life, to the point where even leaving my house felt overwhelming. As my anxiety worsened, my world kept getting smaller, I wasn't living much of a life. As someone who struggles with ADHD, OCD and depression, I noticed a significant improvement in symptoms. Together coupled with the life coaching that they now offer it really helped me a lot. I plan on picking up more sessions in the future when I have some more time. I highly recommend them if you are struggling with any mental health disorders, especially ADHD & OCD which are some of the more stubborn disorders.
