Tess is an exceptional teacher! She was well prepared, providing me with a student binder filled with vocabulary definitions, loom design, step by step written directions from design and planning to fringes and fulling. Her project planning sheet and yardage and sett charts are invaluable! Along with her written support she goes over every step of the process explaining, demonstrating and then allowing the student to finish each step for ingrained muscle memory and practice. Her knowledge and experience is vast and the weaving hacks she passed long to fix any and all mistakes will be cherished and well used in the future! Tess Farley is also extremely knowledgeable about the various looms available and their usefulness for the beginner weaver. I had an older Nilus Leclerc Loom from the 70's and she helped me get it ready to use in my own home. Her husband also makes warping boards, spool racks and raddles so if you need additional supplies for your loom you can purchase them directly from Tess and save on shipping. Tess Farley is an exceptional teacher and I can't thank her enough for providing me with a firm foundation in weaving. Personnel at the college is very persuasive and enthusiastic to get you in the door. When I realized that this was too expensive and the college is not regionally accredited, I reached out to staff to withdraw. That was 2 weeks into one class; the classes are 4 weeks long. They dragged their feet until the class was over and then that's when decided to withdraw me. They even went as far as to say I might as well attend class so it won't affect my GPA, despite my multiple attempts to withdraw within the second week. I definitely feel like I was scammed! Please do your own research on this school before committing to it.

Very clear, but challenges you to think in a different way. I'm a visual learner and there were really good examples, and scenarios and conversation throughout the course to keep everyone engaged. Mrs. Annette quickly won my daughter over with her cheerful disposition and was able to test my daughter without so much as one frown. She thought the test was fun and eagerly anticipated her first tutoring session at Mathnasium! I like you can get your money's worth by visiting as many times as you want Monday-Thursday and on Saturday mornings. My daughter loves working with Mrs. Sharon especially as the woman has the patience of Job! She loves the small learning groups, math games, and that you can earn treats (candy and toys) for work completion. Math has become my daughter's favorite subject with her grade going from a low C to a high A. She readily volunteers to solve problems in class where she once had complete meltdowns in class. Her third quarter report card indicated that she has mastery of all of her grade level standards except two so the teacher commented that she would focus on those two standards and allow my daughter to start working on the next grade level!

At the end of the last school year she was convinced that she was ready for Algebra 1 in the Fall so I asked her to complete an Algebra assessment exam at Mathnasium to confirm that she was ready. The assessment clearly showed that she was not at all ready and showed her the skills she needed to work on. Mathnasium developed a program that targeted these and she went to Mathnasium over the summer to work on them. We are now well into the first semester of the school year and she is making close to an A in Algebra 1. I can't thank Annette and the rest of the Mathnasium team enough for helping her!!

They responded, call the office. That is poor customer service. A company should be able to professionally respond to email inquiries. Not everyone has time to call every company to ask simple questions. Not everyone likes to talk on the phone. As a business, you should respond to inquiries as they are asked. If an individual requests a callback, that's different. Companies are becoming too lazy to do business.

That is what my parents and I signed up for and expected. I did not expect that I would have to keep having lessons with my parents. Furthermore, the instructor was not explicit about the consequences of not getting a driver's license, beyond the obvious caveat of relying on other transportation. The instructor did not explain that many employers require a valid driver's license, and thus not getting one hampers the potential for job hires significantly.
