But every ounce of his toughness came from seeing our greatness before we could see it ourselves. Because of his technique and high standards, I know how to draw blood with confidence. Now that I'm out on externship, I still hear his voice in my head reminding me to stand out, be proficient, and carry myself with professionalism. His approach was never easy, but it was always for the betterment of our success. Ms. Jowers -- Truly the backbone of our program. She works tirelessly around the clock to make sure we're squared away. No matter how busy she is, she always finds time to help students fix errors, understand the process, and keep moving forward. She never wants to see us fail, and her dedication to Fortis, to herself, and to all of her students is unmatched. Ms. Sledge (Program Director) -- She doesn't get nearly the credit she deserves. She is always looking out for her MAs, often putting herself in the line of fire without recognition. She is sharp, has a heart of gold, and genuinely wants her students to excel. She's the type of leader who changes lives quietly but powerfully. Ms. Welch -- Teaches insurance, billing, and coding with the sweetest spirit. Honestly, I despised that class at first, but she never let me give up. She made sure I was prepared for state boards, and even though I don't touch insurance at my externship, I've realized how beneficial it was to learn coding. I'm so thankful for her patience, kindness, and thoroughness. Mr. Ntumi -- Another tough cookie who didn't play about his subject. His brilliance and discipline in teaching anatomy made me retain knowledge I still use today. He set the tone early on: take this seriously, because it matters. His commitment was to our success, and it showed in every lecture and quiz. Overall: My Fortis journey was amazing. As long as you stay focused and driven, you will succeed here. This school sometimes gets a bad rep from people who didn't take it seriously, but for those of us who showed up, did the work, and stayed dedicated -- it was both challenging and fun. I can proudly say I was more than prepared stepping into externship, and I already have opportunities lined up for hire as soon as it ends.

I took 2 try's to get through the national part (nerves). When I realized that this was too expensive and the college is not regionally accredited, I reached out to staff to withdraw. That was 2 weeks into one class; the classes are 4 weeks long. They dragged their feet until the class was over and then that's when decided to withdraw me. They even went as far as to say I might as well attend class so it won't affect my GPA, despite my multiple attempts to withdraw within the second week. I definitely feel like I was scammed! Please do your own research on this school before committing to it.

They always do a great job with eyebrow waxes. Never had an issue there. Receptionist is helpful and they try to keep the appointments timely and as scheduled. It's a great deal if you aren't too picky and are willing to work with a student. It's definitely not spa quality but it's worth it if price is key to your situation. Every student is different so it's always a different experience every time I go in.

It only cost me $10 and I'm natural!!! That in and of itself is enough for me to come back all the time. The stylist was not very talkative, but she was kind (honestly sometimes I prefer the quiet). The students and teachers in general are a lively bunch so they were constantly laughing and joking across the salon, but that didn't bother me. One thing they could improve is the timeliness. I had a 9am appointment but I guess the students don't get there till 9am so it takes them time to set up (although it looked like several were just standing around). No one communicated with me about why I was waiting either. I didn't get started until 9:20am so that was a little annoying to wait so long. I wish they would have told me over the phone because I would have just made a 9:30am appointment. That being said, I recommend 9:30am being the earliest you go.
