If I could leave no stars, I would. Unfortunately, had a situation where we needed cheap insurance for my spouse and everything was fine initially. However, we needed to make a change and they charged us $150 in additional products(unknowingly) because they legally can't charge us for changes. And then I realize this charge and want to cancel these products- I got hung up on at least 8 times the minute I mentioned "cancelling"or telling them I refuse to pay 100 for a change when I paid $15 for a change two weeks prior! One of the most grimiest of auto insurances! My installments were steadily decreasing with my driving record being flawless then all of a sudden an increase of $50 was added. I called to find out what it was for and of course I was not given a justified answer. It was due to a fee for "club dent pro", a fee that never received my consent. I found a lower premium with better coverage through another company and the cancellation process was nothing but horrendous. The first customer service rep (the number listed on all mail) connected me with another person who could not find me and seemed to enjoy wasting my time. Finally got another number to call and that customer service rep processed the cancellation but said it will take a few days to go through to the underwriter and that my payment was actually due that day. It was the 19th and my payments were normally around the 22nd or 23rd. He never disclosed the $50 cancellation fee and said they tried to charge my card already but it didn't go through so they won't try to charge it again and to block my card. The next morning when I saw the charges on my card, I called to get the refund process started. This rep said a check will be mailed to me 7-10 business days but it was half of what I normally paid. He said I was charged for coverage that day and he was shocked I wasn't told of the cancellation fee. This company will try to get whatever they can once you decide to stop dealing with their nonsense. And some of the people they hire is another idiot story. Stay clear folks read more

Clearly a scam company. I received a letter from the DMV stating my registration would be cancelled because I had no insurance. Insurance that I paid Freeway for. Getting to talk with anyone there is at least a 3 hour ordeal, only for them to "definitely try and resolve and contact you later". So after multiple tries I was let to know that my insurance was cancelled the same day I made it because of non-payment even though I did pay while on the phone with them. I send them a bank statement showing the transaction, and now I've received a letter asking me to pay *AGAIN* from their dept collecting department, claiming even that they tried to contact me multiple times, while I have 10 emails sent to them, with zero replies and no missed calls. I've filed a complaint with the California Department of Insurance and contacting a lawyer. SCAM COMPANY!!! STAY AWAY. Including their desperate 5 star reviews here, just as them they are FAKE. read more

WORST customer service EVER! I've been in the customer service industry as a career, im a seasoned professional. But, MY GOODNESS...where to start. I don't have a policy with them THANK GOD Im just trying to make a payment via "online" on behalf of my girlfriend. But their whacked-out online portal's a joke. I've tried many formats placing her policy number with no avail. I didn't want to call so i can avoid a headache, but alas I think the online portal is rigged so you'd have to call. I went through 4X bad customer service calls and they dare calk that the customer service depr?? What a joke! I'd be willing to get out of disability and get hired by them to TEACH what a 5-star customer service call sounds like. All i wanted was someone to help me with their ONLINE PORTAL, a 2 min assist. Im adamant bout making a "one-time" online payment to pay the entire balance so my girl never go through this hell again. I GIVE ZERO STARS. Everything started normal ...I gave the rep (Jonathan ) all my info and was honest about an accident two years ago, no problem... got a quote for Traders and paid 350 to start it ... Within a week traders sent me a home owner confirmation doc that was dated to be back before it was even received. So that shoots my premium up 70%... They then shoot it up over 200% a week later and billed my card without any consultation ! They said that wreck was 4 points and they didn't receive the info from my agent ... I'm 33 and this isn't my first rodeo , I swear I told the guy and he said on therenit was only 1 point and dropping off in 9 months , so my rates would go down. When I called to complain about their reporting policies and pre screening (before entering a customer into a policy), I was transferred around for literally an hit and a half and eventually transferred to another insurance company . I called back. Couldn't get a supervisor for the life of me and by the time I reached one the mail man came and there was a cancellation from Traders over a docUment they didn't receive for a signature , but Freeway had never sent it out All in all I paid over 600$ for insurance that was cancelled in three weeks because Freeway dropped the ball. Point is. If you want to gamble with cheap insurance go for it. It may go to your favor. But when the do do hits the fan, and more than likely it will, your going to regret not going through a more "professional" agency. Good luck with these guys. You'll need it read more
